Welcome to The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Show
A warm welcome to The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Show 2024. As we celebrate our 11th year we are delighted that so many families, carers, healthcare professionals and individuals living with dementia over the years have been able to find advice, information, help and support.
It has always been our aim to bring together the leading voices in the field, whether from an organisation or business, family carer or person living with dementia, to give you the opportunity to listen and put your questions to them.
Hear them all speak in our theatres throughout the two days. Some popular topics are repeated but we try to offer the widest range of subjects so the programme for each day is different.
Meet our friendly and helpful exhibitors and discover the latest and best products and services and for private advice head to the Admiral Nurses and Dementia Advisor 1-2-1 clinics. These appointments are booked on the day at the Dementia UK and Alzheimer’s Society stands.
New features for 2024 are the CQC Inspector Hub where you can speak to a CQC inspector or registration manager to discuss any queries and the ‘Saturday Summit Theatre’ will host a morning session ‘New Horizons for Alzheimer’s Treatments’. If you are a professional or family carer, join us for a morning of talks about new drugs in the pipeline, clinical trials and new diagnosis technologies.
For our professional audience, we are pleased to be an accredited CPD provider.
We would like to thank all our speakers, exhibitors, our partner Alzheimer’s Society, sponsor Seating Matters, supporters Dementia UK, NAPA and Training2Care, The Dementia Care Awards and Care Talk as well as our media partner The Carer for their help, support and collaboration.
Finally, we hope the show will give you a better understanding of dementia and help you support those you care for.

Vegetarian For Life
E28
At Vegetarian for Life, care home caterers often contact us, concerned that a vegan or vegetarian resident living with dementia has lost this part of their identity, and is now ‘asking for meat’, or picking it from others’ plates. This presents a huge barrier to individuals eating in line with their religious or philosophical beliefs. Carers don’t want to distress a vegan or vegetarian by ignoring their present wishes, and may reluctantly give in to such requests. Visit Vegetarian for Life for guidance and to find out more about the charity’s Memory Care Pledge. www.vegetarianforlife.org.uk
Younger People With Dementia CIO C22
Our charity was formed in 2012 and has grown year on year, both in the numbers of the carers that it supports and those diagnosed with young onset dementia who attend our age-appropriate weekday workshops across Berkshire and Surrey Heath, NE Hants and Farnham.
Traditional support services provided for those with dementia are designed to meet the needs and expected therapeutic outcomes of older adults and subsequently, access to activities appropriate for younger adults with dementia continues to be limited locally, regionally and nationally. www.ypwd.info
