By: Athabile Mrasi Siazo has stolen so many hearts with her vibrant and exciting energy on Sabc 1’s realest lifestyle magazine show, Real Goboza. She says longevity is what she finds challenging about her career. And, the women she finds inspiring are the likes of Claire Mawisa. “I look up to women like Claire Mawisa, who have been in the industry for as long as I can remember. I just hope for the opportunity to do what I love for as long as I can.”
In 2017 she started her own hair business and says it has been a journey, she had to learn a lot while enjoying the ups and downs. “Starting a business is very interesting; coming from an accounting background, I have had to learn marketing and entrepreneurship skills on the fly. I am enjoying the ups (hair is very lucrative), and the downs (the business is cyclical by nature). I am the kind of woman who meets with triumph and disaster, and I treat those two imposters just the same,” explains Sinazo.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY OF SPENDING YOUR TIME IF YOU ARE NOT WORKING? I have started hiking, so if I'm not with family, I want to be hiking or cleaning my space. Q4. WHAT'S IN YOUR HANDBAG? In my bag, there's Mac studio fix, sunscreen, Marc Jacob's Decadence lotion, Vitamin C face mist, allergex, snuff, a tab of Johnson's baby jelly, wipes, mints, and a pen. Q5. HER GO TO BEAUTY PRODUCT... Garnier. I have oily skin which I'm grateful for. The oiler the skin, the slower the aging process. But I need to control it especially because my work requires I wear makeup. Garnier is able to give me that freshness, oil-free and still maintain my skin tone. I also use a lot of Body Shop Tea Tree.
Q6. ON HER BEAUTY MORNING ROUTINE... I have a weekly beauty routine. Wash my face with warm water, a squeeze of lemon in my homemade exfoliator: made of brown sugar, lemon, carbonate of soda and honey. Was off with Garnier deep clean face wash, tone with Tea Tree clearing mattifier and moisturize with coconut oil or Garnier oil control complete.

HERE'S THE REASON WHY ZIKHONA BALI WEARS HER HAIR NATURAL; Wearing my hair, the way I feel, is a statement of 'I don't have to look like the rest,' this is important to me especially for young girls. I want them to know that beauty is not defined by what we see on screens, beauty is you. You define your own beauty and you're enough. Black young girls need to know, that they too can sit in boardrooms, playing leading roles, close deals, own their companies, be smart, be educated wearing their nappy hair. Her followers are intrigued by her cosmetics, but they also find interest in her lifestyle, wardrobe and what she gets up too with her family.
02.Yara Shahidi She is widely known also for her very strong opinions and views on social media, where she expresses her disdain on racial and social issues especially the travel bans against Muslin countries. With her Iranian and African American background, Yara felt it was her responsibility to dive into the political debate. Yara has proven on many occasions that she is not afraid to speak her mind and with the social media as her platform she sure gets her views heard at all cost. Yara got a recommendation letter from Michelle Obama to Harvard University, where she eventually was accepted. Yara is not just any 19 year -old, her tvseries, Grown-ish which is a spin-off of Black-ish premiered in January 2018.
03.MILLIE BOBBY BROWN This young English actress rose to fame for her role as “Eleven” in the Netflix series Stranger Things, from that she has received prestigious awards. She won Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance, she also won the 43rd Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series. And for her role as Eleven in the second season of Stranger Things, Millie got her second Emmy nomination in 2018. She now has over 19 million followers on her Instagram, she has taken to Hollywood with a storm. The 15 year- old star relates easily to other young teens out there who look up to her as their role model.
04.LASIZWE He is a young and intelligent influencer. Lasizwe has taken the South African entertainment industry by storm, famously known for his YouTube videos as well as TV presenting. Early this year he made top10 of the PR firm Advance Media’s list Most influential Young South African List. The 20-year-old, no doubt he has followers all over the country, so he remains a role model and impacting the lives of many people.

07. MARSAI MARTIN She is a 14 year- old American actress and producer. Marsai is known for her role as Diane Johnson in the ABC comedy series Black-ish. At the age of 13, she became executive producer of the film, Little. Marsai is the youngest person in Hollywood to ever produce a movie. A recent project she will be working on is Amari and the Night Brothers, the debut novel by first-time author B.B Alston. Marsai will be working alongside Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Beauty and the Beast in producing the film.
08. BONTLE MODISELLE The bold and very courageous actress put out a very touching love letter to her body, acknowledging all her flaws and short comings. She spoke on her insecurities she had faced and negativity she received on gaining weight. She has inspired many other women who face the same back lash over their bodies on day to day basis. Your Sangria Recipe
INGREDIENTS FOR THE DRINK 1 bottle of Century Oak Chardonnay Strawberry syrup 2 cups of sparkling water 1 cup of chopped strawberries 2 oranges, sliced INGREDIENTS FOR THE SYRUP 7 ½ cups of fresh strawberries, cut in halves 2/3 cup of sugar ½ cup of water Mesh sleeve HOW TO DO IT Step 1 First make the strawberry syrup in a sauce pan. Combine halved strawberries sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boiling and stir in dissolved sugar. Remove from heat and let cool. Step 2 • Press mixture thru a mesh sieve and discard solids and save for later. Step 3 • In a large pitcher mix wine, syrup, sparkling water, strawberries and oranges. Chill and serve. Make every weekend a Sangria season. Share with your friends and be merry.
Pot Shrimp Risotto
“You'll save both time and calories with this zesty shrimp risotto.”Foodnetwork
Ingredients 1 shallot 2 cloves garlic 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper 1 1/2 cups arborio rice 3 sprigs fresh thyme 1/3 cup dry white wine 1 8-ounce bottle clam juice 1 pound peeled and deveined large shrimp 1/2 cup frozen peas 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest, plus more for topping Lemon wedges, for serving
Directions 1. Set an Instant Pot to sauté on the medium setting. Chop the shallot and garlic. When the pot is hot, add 2 tablespoons butter, then add the shallot, garlic and a pinch each of salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the rice and thyme sprigs and cook until the rice is toasted, about 3 minutes. Stir in the wine, scraping the bottom of the pot, and cook until evaporated, about 30 seconds. Turn off the sauté function. 2. Stir the clam juice and 3 cups hot water into the pot. Close the lid and turn the steam valve to the sealing position. Set the pot to cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. When the time is up, turn the valve to the venting position and release the steam completely. Carefully open the lid. 3. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper and add to the pot. Stir in the peas. With the pot still turned off, close the lid and let the shrimp cook through, about 5 minutes. 4. Add the parmesan and lemon zest to the risotto; stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons butter until melted. Add a few dashes of water to loosen, if necessary. Discard the thyme sprigs. Divide among bowls. Top with lemon zest and serve with lemon wedges.

FADE The fade haircut is a famous hair cut mostly popular on men, but the trend seems to rub off on females as well. What’s great about this hair cut is that you get to choose what you’d like yours to look like, but always remember, with the fade hair cut the hair should start short at the bottom then gradually growing near the top of the head. Others like to spice it up with a line, some sort of a signature but it always works and dying your hair blonde, makes it look fresh. This kind of haircut should be performed by a skilled hair barber for it is one of the hardest haircuts to get right most of the time.
BALD Everyone seems to not like hair these days if it’s not a cut then it is shaving all off. Well going bald takes guts to pull it off because once you go bald you never go back. Going bald is not for every shape of the head though, there are some head shapes that when you look at them you know it’s not right to expose such shape to the public. Secret! Best time to start afresh with your hair is winter time so that when summertime approaches your hair is fresh and strong for any style that could potentially damage the hair, and if it gets cold, you can always wear a wig.
