E N V Y would like to welcome everyone to its first edition magazine! With this issue we are looking to entice your mind with the various styles that SL's hottest creators have brought to life. You will be introduced to designers of all genre's and categories. This magazine with have something to offer every generation, race and community. Our broad variety of fashion will feature many SL household names, as well as introduce new talent. But please don’t categorize us as just a fashion magazine, we are here to bring together bloggers, builders, designers, role play communities and most important ,the consumers. My dream has always been to bring a better way to shop to Sl. Yes, SL has hundreds of bloggers with pages and groups, impossible to keep up with. Yes, you can get alerts from your favorite design but what if you are not in their group. Imagine a magazine full of the exclusives that were dropping that week without the lag of shopping or forgetting to check their blogger page. We all have done it: dropped down to a popular event naked or as a ghost to walk through praying you don’t crash, cause we all know the result. Sitting, waiting for the next person to crash so you can get back in. There are people who still enjoy walking in SL for shopping but on average how often do you use your marketplace. Or remember when you first started, you knew nothing and little guidance. Think about how many times you dropped on a land thinking it was your regular shop, and the designer moved. With us, everything will be updated, clothing, homes, location of business in your community, and most of all, landmarks. Click&Shop directly from the pages here. You’ll see them highlight as you turn the page or hover over their ads to go directly to the Marketplace or SLURL. Come back here to always find what you’re looking for, in one easy and accessible place, E N V Y MAGAZINE.

I would like to welcome you all to the first issue of E N V Y MAGAZINE. This magazine will serve as a huge purpose to fashion designers, bloggers, builders, with articles written by some of the great authors I have come to know. All of the articles have been written exclusively for the magazine and advertised clients.
For many years, people have been asking why can’t I find a direct link to shop or why is it so hard to find a good store in SL? The answer was quite simple: I couldn’t find anything that added value to what E N V Y provides. We wanted you to have something more than a side-scrolling blog that basically imitated what others are blogging leaving no store address or purchase link.
The E N V Y MAGAZINE will be published weekly.
All transactions will be handled
through our financial department and new issues will be automatically delivered through inbox or email.
With the help of amazing and well-known fashion designers such as SABOTAGE and {R E V E N G E} just to name a few; outstanding photography by Maiya Gant, and many other talented photographers, we are able to bring E N V Y MAGAZINE to life. Kiett and myself shared Aubrey Ricci’s belief in what a fashion magazine should be and we worked extremely hard to deliver something we could be proud to produce.
We also have a website you can check out as well, featuring E N V Y Models who blog SL’s finest fashion, clothing, hair and jewelry. The first issue of E N V Y MAGAZINE features great writers covering fashion, designs, poses, photography and much more, many of which are my favorite topics. I hope you enjoy it!

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW…

.............. E N V Y MAGAZINE
SABOTAGE Analena Mylesia Darkbyrd (AmariBengaza Resident): First, I would like to thank you for doing this interview with me tonight. Niklaus Thorne-Crowne (JaePreme Resident): No problem. Analena: Niklaus, why did you decide to choose fashion designing as a career? Niklaus: Well, it was more of a hobby then it gradually turned into a way of life. I love making new ideas and new styles and trends and doing things no one has yet to do. Analena: Very nice. What , according to you , is a favorite part of being a fashion designer? Niklaus: The fact that people actually enjoy my creations and show interest in them. Makes me feel like I’m doing what I love to do and that people are enjoying what I do as well. Analena: *nods as she swoops her bang behind her ear as she takes notes* The designs you created are no doubt very good, but who and which things were your inspirations while creating the designs? Niklaus: Well, my main inspiration is myself, but I also like a lot of side designers, the underdogs of the designers, not the mainstream. But, even then if I see something I like I never copy it exactly the way it is, I always put my own stamp on it and revamp it in my style. *Analena turns on Shai- “If I Ever Fall in Love” Analena: I like that Niklaus. Being your own brand says a lot about your work. Define what you think fashion is about? Niklaus: Fashion is about controversy. Staying original and unique. I like creating pieces that no one understand when I make it, but then it grows on them after awhile and they catch on to the direction I was taking it in. Analena: I’ve seen your work and you are very detailed in what you do, which I think makes

your clothes absolutely fabulous! What skills according to you are necessary for a successful fashion designer? (continued) 9
.............. Niklaus: Well, on Second Life mostly, for me it’s the entire package. A lot of stores on here pay someone to do work for them. Literally everything from the meshing to the texturing, and then sell it and make a lot of money of something they didn’t create. I think it’s necessary to put your “back into it”. My favorite part is actually texturing the clothes. I like drawing the designs, making denim from scratch and things like that. It just adds a nice touch to my creations that separates me from the others. Analena: Wow! Sounds like you put a lot of passion in your work, along with blood sweat and tears! I know fashion designers’ life can take up so much time. How do you balance your personal life with your business life? Niklaus: Well, my business life is my personal life, if you know what I’m saying (laughs in sexy), even though I love creating my business ventures it opens new paths and doorways into my personal life. I’m a very expensive type of guy and I also have a big family on here that I help support on their business ventures. So, to me I put my family first at all times, and then my business but my family is known for business as well, so it all plays together. Whomever I date knows that my business comes first, unless they are trying to put a ring on it! (Niklaus laughs in sexy, again! Yuuus!) Analena: (laughs and makes side note for his ring size) You’re already a popular designer now...where do you see yourself in the next two years with your business? Niklaus: Global! It’s hard to break out the mainstream of “urban” but I’m going to upt that on the map and make “urban” mainstream for me and everyone else in my genre of design. Analena: Well, I am very excited to hear that! Does it get stressful at all? Niklaus: Yes, there are a lot of things that people don’t see behind the scene. A lot of hateful people and jealous people that try to black ball you from the fashion world and a lot of con artists and scammers. Just a lot of bullshit so to speak, but I’m a very strong person, so I will always push through.

.............. Analena: Very well said Niklaus! Last question for you here, where can the SL grid find your store and when is your next big event or sale? Niklaus: Well, my picks provides the location for the landmark to my main store. My next event that I will be featured in will be “N’21” so, if you follow me on Flickr or my page on Facebook, which is all provided on my profile, you will find all those links. But N21 and I may do a few surprise appearances at some big events, so just keep your eyes on me! And thank you for having me! Analena: Thank you! It has been a pleasure!

Hello? Canada?
In 2008, I never thought that Obama had a chance to win the Presidential election. Not that I didn’t believe in the guy’s message and all, it was just that, well...he was Black. I know how racist White people are, after all, they are MY people— it didn’t matter his Mom was White, Obama for all intent and purposes wasn't “Mixed”, he was absolutely, unequivocally, “one drop of Black” - Black. On top of that, his “one drop” was pure African. I just didn't realize how ready for a change everyone was in 2008. I was definitely ready. I voted outside my party for him, twice.

A Trump Future.
Concerning to me are what changes the United States are ready for now. What are the masses crying out for that will sway the will of the people to vote and act nearly as one? For sure, more change. But more change in the way that will alleviate student loan debts or change that will continue to erode and roll back the Civil Rights and Liberties of the citizens of America? Specifically, People of Color (POC). What’s a White guy as sexy as me, able bodied and with so much swag doing worrying about POC? Well, I married a Woman of Color in SL and I’ve never turned back since. When angry at me, she regularly calls me “wigger” and “white boy!” but that doesn’t bother me. I’m in love with the most beautiful, melanin rich woman on the face of the planet. Call it what you want, but since meeting her in-world, I’ve become much more aware of POC’s points of views, their feelings about the issues that effect them and I hope I have become a better listener. Which leads me to Hitler-esqe Trump, the front runner in my political party, the clown and buffoon that has all of a sudden become the voice of the crazy haters, the “Make America Great Again”. My uncle is one of those people. When pressed for the exact time frame America was great, he and the rest of the sheep fail to give any particulars. If you press them really hard, they’ll typically throw out “Well damnit! The 50’s were great!” What the f*&^ was so great about the 50’s?! Our taxes were 90%, not 30%, not 40%, but 90%! Your take home pay was literally pennies! Why do you think bread and eggs back then cost 10cents! Laughable. There were no Civil Rights for POC. None. As a matter of fact, in the 1920’s and 1930’s, every successful, segregated, upwardly mobile and financially wealthy neighborhood and city were burned to the ground by Whites. When pointing out these things that didn’t make America “so great”, my uncle and the others typically start cussing, spitting, farting and walking away. I’m honorably now a “socialist”. Code = That’s the closest they have to “ni**er lover” in polite company now. I wonder what the Jewish people in Germany thought when Hitler had not commandeered the republic for himself yet. Did they say the “reasonable” people would outdo Trump’s Hitler’s folly? They underestimated the kind of change their non-Jewish White neighbors were ready for. I’m not so willing to underestimate the establishment’s desire to further divide the country. I believe there’s something sinister afoot and we won’t know until it is too late and we are all hanging by our toes. Should Hitler Trump win, I’ve encouraged my SL wife, my RL friends to have a plan of escape to Canada, the Netherlands, Cuba, anywhere out of the reach of the New Reich. If they win this America, they will exact their punitive and imaginary hurts to every single benefit and person that they believe has done them wrong. I have no doubt that the “call this ni**** a tree” (term to lynch a Black person) shouted at the last Trump rally when they were beating a Black man there while Trump encouraged them, will be the new patriotism. 25
