DISCOVERING EDEN By Sarah Elisabeth Brenham Many people have philosophies about life. One of mine is that the world is made up of beauty and substance. I recently met someone who is contributing to the beauty sector of society. Read on to find out who this person is and how her art is making a positive impact on the world.

You see, a friend of hers was a photographer and he opened her eyes to the beauty a picture can have. From there, she began looking up other photographers via Flickr and that was when she made the decision to become a photographer.

which I feel is the reason for the rise in her popularity as an artist. Ms. Skaði gets inspiration for her work from those who make mesh items, as she feels that without them she would not be able to put together a quality look and backdrop for her photos. In the future, Ms. Skaði hopes to continue doing her photography.

Although Ms. Skaði only does photography in Second Life, I feel that this does have a positive influence on Eden Kaði aka Edenjane765 the world, as it's my belief Resident, "moved" to Secthat any upstanding vibe ond Life on February 9th, you put out, regardless of 2015. A Force to be Reckoned With: Bryce A. Knoxx by Maiya Gant Photos by Bryce A. Knoxx It is my honor and pleasure to interview Bryce A Knoxx (micah.forsythe), owner of In|eX DĂŠcor Co. First of all, I would like to say thank you Bryce for your time. I really appreciate it. Bryce A Knoxx: Oh it's my pleasure and honor really. Tell me a little about yourself. How long have you been in Second Life? What brought you to the game and what keeps you here? 62 - E N V Y MAGAZINE

Bryce: chuckles lightly "Well, I have been playing off and on since '06. Different AV’s back then though. This AV will be 7 years old in February. My real life cousin actually brought me to the game. It was intriguing yet too overwhelming at first and I, like most people, took a break until I was ready to tackle the game again." Finishing that sentence she reaches over to the coffee table and lifts her

glass to take a sip of water. Clearing her throat she begins speaking again, "Honestly, now that I've culled my friends list so greatly over the last few years, I have really grown to love the ones who are in my life currently. And the ones who are in my life now, but we just haven't built that bond yet, they are there because they are appreciated in some way."

That kind of ties in with my next question. I’ve seen your decorating work. I love the colors and your styles and how it all comes together. When did you know you wanted to become a decorator? How did you develop that skill? Were they all developed in SL or is this an extension of skills you have in real life?

E N V Y MAGAZINE - 63

Bryce: Aww! Thank you so much! Well, as I mentioned earlier, I've had a deep rooted passion for it in real life. I would love to own a decor business in real [life] as well one day. So for now, I get my decor kicks from SL. I’m not sure how I developed my skill for decorating. I've always had an artistic eye in many fields, but I would say that it's best expressed through decorating, as well as pictures (more so rl ones). You are very talented Bryce. I looked at your Flickr page and I see that you have quite the eye for photography as well. Did you develop that skill as part of your interior/ 64 - E N V Y MAGAZINE

exterior decorating or was the photography first? Bryce thoughtfully taps her fingertips along the arm of the couch and replies, "They were unrelated in real life, and in SL, once I figured out I could take decent pics, I started taking pics to make albums on FB for my business page. What do you love most about being an interior/exterior decorator?

What makes your style unique? What are some things that influence your designs and determines your flow? Bryce: I've come across many decorators in my day, but what I think sets me apart is my attention to detail. I like to make sure and add touches to the rooms that I know the client would appreciate. I'm also quite obsessive when it comes to setting things in places it’s crazy. My flow really depends on the client. I'm like a chameleon, I can adapt to anything the client wants. What do you think is the most unique thing in your portfolio or what is the most unique job that you’ve done so far? Bryce: That HAS to be the project I did for my sister Kim. She told me she wanted to do something special for her girlfriend to celebrate their 6 month anniversary. She told me she was gonna be a mermaid and VOL 3.4

wanted it to be that sort of theme. It was soooo much fun creating that for her. It is an album on my FB group page.

And last but not least. Do you have any advice for aspiring interior decorators? Any suggestions for the up and coming?

Ha-ha that sounds like it was a lot of fun! Tell me about your career goals? What’s next for Bryce?

Bryce: You can't buy mediocre decor and expect to have an HGTV looking space. Add to your collection a little at a time if you are on a budget. But do not settle for poorly made items. Also, many "special touch" items that put the space over the top, are gachas. Don't sleep on gacha decor!! And lastly, practice makes perfect, never turn down an opportunity to tackle a new type of project, completing it successfully is such an amazing feeling.

Bryce: I just hope to be able to bring as many visions to reality in this world. I hope to be able to add more to my team. Currently, I employ my manager Alora (Star), and my brother, who is a decorator, Shaun. My wonderful lady Devyn is a trusted advisor, but she gets paid in smooches of appreciation.

Enjoy 20/20 Vision With Sir David Louis Mullins by Maiya Gant

Today, I am interviewing Sir. David Louis Mullins (bishopdavid resident) Senior Pastor at Vision Church of God in Praise and the CEO and founder of Vista Del Rey Family Roleplay Community.

For the last six years, I have been the head Bishop over the Churches of God in Praise in the virtual worlds. In Second Life, I lead Vision Church and own Vista Del Rey Community. "Vista Del Rey and Vision Church work great as one. We offer Role Play and a real gospel ministry. No one can tell us what we can or cannot do. "

We were very limited at other communities.

Maiya Gant: Is Vista Del Rey and the Vision Church a team project? Bishop Mullins: Yes, Vision Church is planning on a Vision Campus four region project which will be connected to Vista Del Rey. It was only wise if we started with the community first.

Maiya Gant: Currently how large is Vista Del Rey and how many residents do you currently have? Are the residents mostly families?

E N V Y MAGAZINE - 69

Bishop Mullins: Vista Del Rey has four regions right now. We own another ten plus regions which we will connect to these four we have later as this community grow. We have around 60 to 75 residents and most do not have families. We do see more families moving into Vista Del Rey.

Maiya Gant: Are the other regions residential/ commercial rental communities as well?

Bishop Mullins: Yes, we try to offer everything we can to build a friendly welcoming community. Our goal is to make Vista Del Rey one of the best thriving communities in Second Life. We have a 50 sim layout.

Maiya Gant: That is very impressive Bishop. Earlier you mentioned other communities where you had churches located. How would you say that Vista Del Rey differs from some of the others? And how do you plan to avoid some of the pitfalls of some of the larger communities?

70 - E N V Y MAGAZINE

Bishop Mullins: Well, one thing that truly sets Vista Del Rey aside from any other community is that we are first a church owned community. We allow all types of RP as long as it’s respectful, the citizens of Vista Del Rey can do what they want in their home as long they follow TOS. I, as an owner try not to be an overpowering owner. I have seen that in many communities where the owner was so controlling. Also, many of the big communities I was in, some which are still around and others have fallen, the owners got greedy and cashed out and did not have anything to offer their community.

"Vision

Church has had three years of planning a community that every person could be pleased with. I love to hear feedback from every renter. This is a true community, I care what our renters have to say. "

I try to ask every week is there anything our renters would like to see changed. Other communities stay in their pride and ego. I feel we all can grow and better everything we do. VOL. 3.4

Maiya Gant: I took a tour of your lovely community and found it to be a nice peaceful community. What are some of the amenities that are available here? What kind of activities do you have for your residents? Bishop Mullins: Thank You. We have a lounge, dating service, shops, stadium, church, hospital, park, bowling alley just to name a few. We try to have lots of RP like fires and things like that. We have a courthouse and city hall that we just got opened.

Maiya Gant: How can future residents find out about residential and commercial vacancies in Vista Del Rey? Bishop Mullins: They could go to our city website Or ask one of the city staff. Maiya Gant: Vista Del Ray is a charming community that definitely seems to be thriving. What is the expected growth for your community? Would you like to see it grow and progress?

VOL 3.4

Bishop Mullins: I feel that the other regions will be added here sooner then I think. I [will] love to see it grow and progress into a community that sets a tone in Second Life where everyone could not only have fun, but we all could thrive as one as a true community.

Bishop Mullins: Yes, Sunday nights 5:00 PM SLT, Tuesday nights at 4:00 PM SLT. Bible Study Friday night at 5:00 PM SLT.

Maiya Gant: And also, can you please tell me the days and times of the services here at Vision Church? Also what is the church's web address?

I regularly visit events to buy clothes and accessories that I find unique and I may use them for future styling. I look at my Inventory and try to create an outfit which is both stylish, unique and meets the genre of the competition. I also search the SL Marketplace, Blogs and visit stores to find accessories that I would add to my outfit. AJ: I agree it’s so important to keep your inventory organized. What's been you favorite moment in SL so far? Peter: My best moments are being with all my SL friends and doing my best. The most memorable moment was graduating from the MVW. AJ: It’s quite an accomplishment! What are your goals for the future Peter? Peter: My goals for my SL modeling career is to do my best in styling and to meet the expectations in pageants and shows. 86 - E N V Y MAGAZINE

Sarah Tremor, owner and designer of Edelfabrik By Kiett Prince

Guten Tag E N V Y Readers! We are here with none other than the energetic and spry Miss Sarah Tremor the owner, mesh designer and creator of Edelfabr\k! She uses Blender, Photoshop and a little Black Forest magic to bring you original content for all mesh body types! If you didn’t guess it, she’s a German designer! We chat, we visit her store, we exchange horoscope signs and of course, I fan girl all over her! Kiett Prince (KP): *smiles warmly* Yay! Welcome to the E N V Y Magazine headquarters! *turns chair around to face Sarah, pulling out interview recorder* Oh wait Sarah! Is this your creation that you're wearing??? *Sarah is wearing a sexy outfit that reminds Kiett of a

Tokyo inspired street style pink and grey ensemble that Kiett has not seen replicated anywhere in SL! Loving it!* Sarah Tremor (Sarah Tremor): Yes Kiett :) That’s one of my latest :)! KP: *grins* I love it!’

Sarah Tremor:

:) Thank you!

KP: You're so welcome! What is this look? Is this Edgy Punk? Sarah Tremor: Well, most of my creations are slightly provocative in the way of "accidentally sexy", but not without class. And almost any of it is mix and match. KP: Which is super important! I hate not being able to mix and match! Now, the name of your store? *Kiett tries to pronounce it using a German accent* EDELFABRIK Sarah Tremor: laughs at Kiett’s accent....[Adele-fabric] :). KP: Where'd you get the name from? *laughs at herself* Sarah Tremor: Yes, thats a German word, a 2 word combination it means "noble factory" KP: I wasn't too far off track! German! *pats herself on the back* Are you German? Sarah Tremor: Yeah, I am German. *laughs* KP: Guten! I love my Germans! I think in your style, it is very modern German and street style Tokyo to me - very sexy, very creative and unique!
