Located in Rhinebeck, New York ∞ Just 90 miles north of New York City

DEAR FRIENDS, The old adage that time flies when you are having fun is true. I’ve been at Omega for longer than I care to admit sometimes (the better part of four decades) and in that time I've seen a lot of changes. But what remains, the core principle that draws us to Omega—our concern for each other and the earth—is as strong and as relevant as ever. As we’ve grown into a diverse and caring community of millions of learners from around the globe, so too has our capacity to understand our interdependence.

“The core principle that draws us to Omega — our concern for each other and the earth — is as strong and as relevant as ever.” — ROBERT "SKIP" BACKUS

As the world gets more complex and our challenges bigger, our communities become more important to our well-being and our connectedness. That is why we are so grateful for, and inspired by, those of you who choose to be a part of the Omega community, whether that means joining us on our campus in Rhinebeck, New York, taking part in an online program, becoming an Omega Member, or some combination of them all. Friends, this is my last letter to you in an Omega program catalog as CEO. After serving in this role for the past 18 years, I’ve decided it’s time for me to continue my service to Omega in a different capacity. We'll have more details about that at a later date, but I’m looking forward to my next chapter and to remaining deeply supportive of and supported by the incredible Omega community that is such an important part of my life. Whether you’re interested in learning something new, finding time for deep rest and relaxation, or—like me—exploring what life’s next chapter will bring, there’s a place for you to thrive in the Omega community. I look forward to seeing you on campus! Warmly,

Robert "Skip" Backus Chief Executive Officer

P.S. In response to the financial impact of the pandemic and rising inflation, our rates are now lower than they were pre-pandemic. Our goal is to help keep Omega accessible—

OMEGA 2022

while still maintaining the all-inclusive Omega experience we're known for, from nourishing food, to open classes, to evening entertainment and campus amenities.

Our Commitment We believe the well-being of every individual is deeply connected to the well-being of all living things, and we are committed to helping people build their capacity to effect change in an interconnected world. Together there is no limit to the ripple effect we can create.

Awaken Your Best When you come to Omega’s campus, or visit online, you join tens of thousands of people who are interested in learning new things, sharing insights, and awakening the best in themselves and their communities. As you explore the workshops highlighted in this brochure, and additional ones on our website, you’ll find educational opportunities for both personal inner work and making meaningful change in the world. Everything we curate for your Omega experience–from the teachers selected, to the food served, to the preservation of the natural habitat– allows us to teach, model, and act in alignment with our aspirations. We call this framework Omega’s integrated approach to personal growth and social change. We invite you to awaken your best with Omega, and bring home the tools you gather here to support self-care and to improve the lives of others.

We offer our Daily Open Classes again in the evening, as a perfect way to decompress before dinner.

We offer a variety of practices in a beautiful setting to help you unwind, de-stress, and get centered. From rigorous to restorative, develop or deepen a practice with us.

Enjoy the bounty of the Hudson Valley with Feather Ridge farm fresh eggs, Hawthorne Valley yogurt, Chimney Hill maple syrup, Old Saw Mill fruit, Thompson-Finch strawberries, and so much more. Gluten free? Vegan? You’ll find delicious and nourishing options at every meal. We also take special care to provide options for people with allergies.

Come together with other participants from your workshop, and meet new friends while sharing a meal. You may notice we are using compostable plates, both for added safety and to reduce energy consumption. Enjoy mostly plant based meals with produce sourced from local farms like Markristo and Wonderland. And try our homemade breads, with butter from Ronnybrook Farm Dairy.

Visit the Sanctuary perched on a hill and surrounded by trees. This place of beauty and tranquility is open for meditation, reflection, prayer, or quiet contemplation. Step inside the Ram Dass Library and browse more than 7,000 books on holistic living. Read quietly in a window seat, listen to an audiobook, or study the work of a favorite teacher. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of campus at the Omega Café, where you will find takeout beverages and desserts for purchase. Insider tips: Use the Café’s water station to refill your thermos when the Dining Hall is closed. It’s also where the only ATM machine on campus can be found. Stop by the Omega Store to browse our collection of books, jewelry, sustainably sourced clothing, toiletries, and more. You’ll find unique gifts that help support small and women-owned businesses. Join a basketball game or play a game of tennis. We have plenty of balls and rackets you can borrow.

Refuel at dinner, where you can select a main course like fresh La Bella Pasta and create a salad of your own design. Our chefs feature seasonal ingredients like Jack Fox Forager ramps, Red Barn produce, and sprouts from Little Seed Gardens. Fun fact: All of our food scraps are sent to our local resource recovery agency, where they are transformed into nutrientrich compost. When evening falls, join us for special classes, concerts, films, community gatherings and other “pop-up” events. Check kiosks and information boards for times and locations.

Long Pond Lake: Take a canoe or kayak for a spin, learn more about the local ecosystem, or relax in a hammock. Hiking: Pick up a trail map at Guest Services and explore the natural landscape surrounding our campus. The Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL) An essential part of Omega’s Climate Initiative, the OCSL demonstrates and teaches what is possible through regenerative design. Visit the OCSL to learn how you are part of our closed hydrological cycle that has reclaimed more than 45M gallons of wastewater. Omega Wellness Center: From massage to acupuncture, and shamanic healing to reiki, our wellness concierge can help you find the perfect treatment. Eco-friendly products are used for all applicable treatments. Browse services and make an appointment today.

Omega Women’s Leadership Center (OWLC) convenes, trains, and inspires women to Do Power Differently®. Located in Omega’s Main Office, the OWLC wing was the first commercial project in the United States to be certified as a passive house, designed to save up to 80% of energy consumption.

We have become separate from each other and the natural world: Our social systems are under extraordinary stress and our planet is facing great peril. It is a time that calls for new thinking and an expanded perspective with deep connection to Spirit. This weekend conference, sponsored by the Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL), is an opportunity to enter into deep listening and community with Indigenous leaders and activists—who speak from rooted traditions and an authentic and inherent bond with the land—to gain insight into how we might approach necessary change. We invite you to immerse yourself in the broad, interconnected perspective of wisdom traditions, and explore your relationship with the Earth and your communities.
