FIGS IN SYRUP

Can Bech’s origins date back to 1981, when the Bech family opened their restaurant in Fontanilles, a small town on the Costa Brava. One of the most famous dishes was the ‘recuit de drap’ with candied figs from the Empordà, a very typical dessert of the area. The success of the figs was such that they began to cook them in different ways and sell them to their clients and nearby stores. What began as a dish at their restaurant became the beginning of the Can Bech as a brand of premium fruit and vegetable preserves.

IN A SWEET SYRUP preserved spanish figs

Preserved figs are the specialty of Can Bech; the jewel of the house. Whole preserved figs with a thick syrup are ideal for giving a special touch to any dish. Can Bech recommends serving with mascarpone ice cream, fresh cheese, or cottage cheese, and decorating it with its own syrup. It is also perfect for pairing with foie gras, cheese, or adding to a salad.

Figs are an outstanding product of the Mediterranean diet, a true delicacy that was consumed in Ancient Greece and also during the Roman Empire. At Can Bech, they offer you the best version, with figs from the Murcia plantations.
