EDGAR PLASCENCIA

Biography

I am a mexican-american architecture/construction student from Marietta, Ga. I have lived in Georgia my whole life although i have strong mexican characteristics from my parents who are from San luis, Mexico.I am the middle child out of 5 so i am naturally the more out going one in the family. I was raised of Christian faith(and strict!) so these factors formed the person i am today. I’ve become a peron of discipline whist still having fun(comes from having siblings). I have a strong mindset on being a sucessful architect/devolper one day because my parents helped me to realize that not everyone has the opportunity at pursuing their dreams due to their circumstances. With the help of my construction trade skill , knowledge in how things are put together and also design skill with a strong will to help others i plan to contribute to affordable housing design and devolpment onde day.

A mesh of two cultures Given that i am mexican-american i wanted to boast my roots in my mask design. I simply used the mexican flag emblem and stars from an american flag to mesh the two countries flags/ identies. At the center of the mask i used a similar color in both flags to conveniently transition the two flags. I do not intend alter the flags of th ecountires but represent how the two countries can have a intersection in a persons identity. Stencils used for mask design

An investment should be made for people to expeirience an Architetcure that provides wellbeing and comfort and promotes prosperity, which some cannot finacially afford. An architecture that isnt costly and unaffordable but yet still is sustainable and beautiful. It is an architecture that helps prosper human being life whilst self-maintaning its own building life at a low cost which should make it affordable for all. Everyone should deserve a chance at living and working in cities that are socially acceptable yet economically affordable for all classes of people. We need to design architecture that accepts all classes of life and there should be no dsicrimation in finacial standings. Work enviroments should promote social enviroments and bring people together. When our social enviroments and affordable housing are taken care of, humans will be able to focus on themselves and respond positively with others making a better world for everyone.
