INTRODUCTION
Early Childhood
Meaning In Architecture
Hello! I’m Edgar from Dallas ,GA and now living in Austell, GA. I’m a Mexican-American family man with 4 siblings(i’m the middle child). As a child, Construction was a part of my life as my father was a Carpenter. I often visited job sites with my dad and seeing the framing of houses go up facinated me. Since then Buildings and the craft of how buildings are made has always intrested me.
Architecture became important to me when I realized I had a desire to be apart of the details and logistics behind the big picture. Architecture is more than constructon, it is art as well. We design and build Archiecture because humans desire and need spaces to take on their many needs and pleasures. I have a desire to design spaces that touch our emotions and are designed around our needs.

The main concept of the home is to enjoy the private garden from all rooms by sharing views of it as well as framing the city views.

away from the street. All Spaces are accessed through the central atrium which also brings the city in through with glass while creating privacy with the perforated entrance facade.

ITERATIONS through iterations i could better understand the space volumes and how the rooms could or could not work together.
STUDY MODEL
SITE FORCES Nearby buildings influenced the design of this city home. Privacy was important so all bedrooms were designed to be at the rear(west side) of lot. This kept the bedrooms away from noise. Views were designed to framed to see garden and city.

COCINA
Urban Resturaunt PROGRAM + Commercial Kitchen + Restrooms(ADA compliant) + 16 parking spots + themed resturaunt + lobby/entry
CONCEPT
DESIGN
Cocina (Kitchen in spanish) is a Mexican cuisine restuaruant that has a central kitchen with dinning, lounge and bar spaces surrounding divided by walls on axis adjacent to the train tracks.
From the these areas you will recieve views of the central kitchen while also having view of the railroads that pass through downtown marietta which inspired the industrial materials used for the resturaunt.
A moduled facade as placed on the east corner to block noise from railroad and create a play of light to the interior of the resturaunt while creating an interactive facade to guest on the exterior. 11 | GARDEN HOUSE
SITE SPECIFIC This site is adjacent to train tracks and at the corner of a busy intersection in Downtown, Marietta. The entrance was placed on the southwest corner where most pedestrian traffic occurs. On the East side a facade was designed to help acoustics in the building and minimize the train noise.

BELTLINE AGORA Pavillion + Plaza PROGRAM
+Community Pavilion _ Auditorium _Retail _ General rooms + public plaza + added progam: _ bistro
CONCEPT
The main concept here was to merge the pavilion+plaza as one. Meet at statue park and then move into the building to attend a Show or play. You can also enjoy an outdoor theatre or food trucks
DESIGN
The site being situated along the beltline and also under and overpass led to create a large plaza of spaces. The overpass provides shade and creates its own Micro-climate for passing pedestrians. The pavilion is coupled with a new Monument
park for people to meet and outdoor theatre for spectating as well as a food truck market area.
19| BELTLINE AGORA
SITE FORCES The popular site is situated along the bUsy Atlanta Beltline. Nearby entertainment is within walking distance and Beltline park. What it needed was a public plaza and pavilion for the community. The best way to split the program was by creating four qaudrants for the different programs.

BUILDING FORM After analyzing the site, used together the Site Ciruclation and the sites regulating lines to derive a basis for my form.I split the building by the North-South Axis to create a common circulation path for the building. Pedestrian coming from the beltline can come in from the plaza side and exit on the south side after visiting.

LIBERAL ARTS DISTRICT Urban Offices + Plaza_[ Office Park ] PROGRAM
+ 3 40k sq ft office/mixed use _ retail ground floor _ building core _parking structure + public plaza ( lid Design) _ spans over HWY
CONCEPT
This buildings main concept was to design a complex of buildings using a pixelated density as a theme for all the buildings. The concept is derived from Atlanta’s urban fabric seen as a pixelated density. Spread out West
of the HWY and dense as you come into the city. A southern facade was designed also using the same concept.
DESIGN
The district takes up 4 Atlanta blocks and a plaza that spans over the downtown connector(I-75/85). Three blocks are dedicated to Office buildings and the last building a welcome park for the district.

PIXELATED DENSITY The Office park plaza (also called [HWY Lid]) uses a pixelated desnity theme derived from Atlanta’s Urban Fabric. We used this concept to design the Plaza’s Hardscape + Landscape as well as the shading louvre roof that will shade from Southern Sun. The plaza roof design also stems from Atlanta’s Urban grid

EARLY SKETCH + PARTI
+ AXIS WALL CUT + GEOMETRIES CREATED
DESIGN PROCESS I started by parti sketeching and plan sketch to see how i could plan out the program with the given site shape and dimensions. I then moved to 3D sketch to conceptualize a form and exterior envelope. A 30’x30’ grid was used to from the column structure. I used a North-South Axis wall to divide the building form into geometries.

DRAFTING / SURVEYING Floor Plans Visuals ABOUT Through surveying and drafting I have been able to develop a better understanding of floor plan layout, design and function. While working for Floor Plan
Visuals, I traveled to different sites to Survey buildings and homes to create a floor plan with measurements and annotations.
PROCESS I’ve surveyed and drafted 7k SQ FT + homes’ and buildings’ floor plans. Through this I understood the measurements and heights that are
appropriate for different types of rooms/spaces. This helped to teach me the standard sq footages and dimensions on typical homes and buildings.

LOGO DESIGN Before starting the company with my dad in 2019, he was working as a Subcontractor for Projects. Together we started Southern Trades Group. I designed the logo for the company along with other marketing and company docuemnts.
CONSTRUCTION MANEGEMENT Southern Trades Group ABOUT
SCOPE OF WORK
My father and I have a Construction + Renovations Buisiness. With Southern Trades Group, I take on skilled trades on site, handle estimates and also discuss project details with clients. I have also managed several projects to make sure our team stays on track.
Starting with the Estimate ,my dad and I will visit the site, to then calcualting the labor prices together. We will have meetings with clients before the project is started. Once project is started, we usually have
JOB TITLE phases of the project like Demolition, framing, finishing, electrical ,etc. I help my
father on projects on the logistics side but also work trades with him.

Although, my father has several years worth of Word-of-mouth buisness, a buisness card was needed to Market our work further. I designed a simple buisness card that would tell people what we do and provide the information they need to get in touch with us.
