HERE COMES THE SUN HOW THE WEATHER AFFECTS OUR MOOD

T

By Nick Haslam

he weather supplies many metaphors for our changeable minds. Moods can brighten and darken, dispositions can be sunny, futures can be under a cloud, and relationships can be stormy. Like the weather, our emotions sometimes seem like fickle forces of nature: unstable, enveloping, and uncontrollable.

Academic Excellence. Professional Success.

Aspects of weather beyond heat and sunshine have also been shown to affect mood.

Weather provides a vivid language for describing our emotional atmosphere, but does it also influence it? Do gray days bring gray moods? When the mercury rises, does our blood boil? Of the many aspects of weather, sunshine is the most intimately tied to mood. Although the link is weaker than many people imagine, sunlight has repeatedly been found to boost positive moods, dampen negative moods, and diminish tiredness. Anything that alters our moods can affect our behavior. Happy people are more favorably disposed to one another, and accordingly, people are more helpful when the sun is out.

rystal Stewart suffered from bunions on both feet; walking and standing were painful and she was considering surgery. However, as a diabetic and self-described “big baby when it comes to pain, she had concerns. One day she saw an ad for minimally invasive bunion surgery and, curious to know more, made an appointment. Stewart was immediately comforted when podiatrist Dr. Andrew Glass explained how much less trauma the foot endures with minimally invasive procedures. Currently, the most common surgery for bunions requires an opening of two to three inches and often involves sawing off or breaking the metatarsals (mid-foot bones, located above the toes). Pins and screws are often needed and the healing time can take 2–3 months. It can also be detrimental because by reshaping the foot, it can change the way the patient walks or stands. Minimally invasive bunion surgery is done with only a 5-millimeter incision. The procedure is performed with long, thin instruments inserted through this opening. The surgeon carefully shaves off the protruding bone causing the bunion while looking at real-time X-ray images to see what’s happening underneath the skin. The healing time is generally much faster. Stewart’s first bunion surgery took about 30 minutes; she had one stitch to close the wound and went home the same day with minimal pain. “It turned out to be a better experience than I thought it would be, she said, adding that her

WHAT IS A BUNION? A bunion is a bony bump on the joint at the base of the big toe. Bunions can cause significant pain and discomfort, becoming worse over time if not treated.

next surgery is already scheduled. Glass’s own issues with pain spurred his passion to practice minimally invasive surgery and he was among the first surgical podiatrists in the U.S. to practice this new technique. Although it’s becoming more widespread, minimally invasive bunion surgery is still much less common in the United States than in Europe. Minimally invasive surgeries fell out of favor with doctors after some surgeons in the ’70s and ’80s got bad results–the doctors were doing the surgeries blindly without real-time X-rays. Today, Dr. Glass does 100’s of minimally invasive surgeries a year and is the only surgeon in NYC who provides this new option.

The Most Efficient Ways to Detoxify Your Body By Derek Henry If you’re going to get clean, you can’t go at it with reckless abandon and expect things to go smoothly. Going from a moderate to extreme toxic state and diving into an herbal detox kit or extreme fast will send your body for a loop. Your body will be crying uncle due to the sheer load placed on your internal detoxification system. When you are ready to cleanse and detoxify your body properly, consider these three safe and most eďŹƒcient methods and how to properly conduct each one. Juicing This is one common method people will employ to start cleansing, and it is certainly a legitimate one but with a few important considerations. One of the most notable benefits of juicing is the flood of oxygenating nutrients that easily assimilate into your digestive system, so they can be transported to various areas of your body. These easily absorbed vitamins, minerals, and enzymes give the digestive system a much-needed break and can then be used eectively by the body to support key detoxification processes. It’s also important to note that the alkalineforming nature of juices can also balance overly acidic (toxic) conditions and strengthen all bodily functions by keeping organs, glands, and cells clean and free of toxins. An important consideration when juicing is to limit the amount of high-sugar fruits, as they can feed yeast and other opportunistic organisms. When doing a juice cleanse, focus on greens and tart fruits (like green apples), along with herbs such as parsley, cilantro, ginger, and turmeric. Avoid eating animal protein and starches while juicing, as they don’t combine well and will cause digestive problems like fermentation and gas. Smoothies Smoothies are another way to start detoxifying the body. They work in much the same way as juicing, with a few important details to consider. When creating a good smoothie, you are creating a highly digestible mini-meal that is loaded with nutrients, enzymes, prebiotics, probiotics, healthy fats, and plant proteins. When combined right, these smoothies are delicious and can fill the need for all the essential nutrients required for a body to detoxify safely and properly. WAVEBREAKMEDIA/ISTOCK

One thing smoothies deliver that typical juicing can’t is fiber. Fiber is very important in the cleansing process, and not separating it out from the final product is an additional benefit. You can also increase the fiber content by incorporating colon-cleansing foods like soaked chia and ground flax. Infrared Saunas When used correctly, infrared saunas can be one of the safest and easiest ways to detoxify the body of harmful contaminants. Infrared saunas are a noninvasive therapy that can penetrate as much as 3 inches into the body, heating muscle tissue and internal organs. This helps promote the elimination of all sorts of toxins, including medications, heavy metals, alcohol, nicotine, and other carcinogens in the blood stream. Infrared saunas also are more eďŹƒcient than traditional saunas that use air and steam in that they help the body perspire at approximately 80 percent water and 20 percent waste and toxins, whereas with traditional saunas, the ratio is approximately 97 percent water and 3 percent waste and toxins. Detoxifying through the skin also eliminates complications that often come with toxins being stirred up internally in your system (which generally causes unwanted symptoms), by giving toxins an easy exit through your pores.

Infrared saunas are a noninvasive therapy that can penetrate as much as 3 inches into the body, heating muscle tissue and internal organs. When choosing to use an infrared sauna for detoxification, start with as little as 10–15 minutes a day and ensure you drink plenty of pure water (preferably spring or mineralized water). Also make sure to source a high-quality brand sauna with low EMFs, or you will be very disappointed. If you are not sure if a detox is even required, there is one easy way to find out. Look for signs of liver damage, and if you have any of the symptoms or signs, you can be reasonably assured a detox is required. Derek Henry is a holistic health coach who created the Healing the Body wellness program to help people understand the fundamental principles to exceptional health, so they can overcome their own health challenges. This article was first published on HealingtheBody.ca When used correctly, infrared saunas can be one of the safest and easiest ways to detoxify the body.

Jump-Start Spring

BENJAMIN CHASTEEN/EPOCH TIMES

By Maureen Zebian | Epoch Times Staff

B

elieve it or not, spring is here. Even if the weather is less than desirable, we can hurry its arrival by putting our mind and actions into spring activities. If we have to wait to May to feel the glow of warm weather, at least we will be prepared. Here is a list of things to do.

Nothing says spring like the chirping of birds.

1. Clean the Grill. It has been a long winter, so it is time to get the racks inside your grill clean. The best way is to use a wire brush and even some easy-off oven cleaner. Also, soak and scrub your cooking equipment. Once everything is clean, it’ll be time to make grilled hamburgers. 2. Wear Open-Toe Shoes. It’s time to put your best foot forward with a pair of open-toe shoes. There are many styles on the market, including the trendy patent peep-toe, platform-heel shoe. But before you attempt to get your feet into a pair of shoes, take time to get yourself a pedicure. 3. Take a Hike. It may be a little chilly, but the cool air will feel good. Make sure to layer your clothing and bring a hat and a thermos of hot tea for the trail. 4. Ride With the Top Down. Nothing brings the spring air to your face like the wind. If you don’t own a convertible, consider renting one.

A couple take photos while boating in Central Park on the first day of spring in 2012.

!

Spring officially starts on March 20.

5. Welcome the Birds Back. Nothing says spring like the chirping of birds. Buy a new birdhouse and bird seed and watch how fast your house will become the most popular with the birds in the neighborhood.

6. Wear Vibrant Colors. Spring is all about color—green, yellow, pink. So it’s time to make your wardrobe reflect the changing season and spice it up with color. You will fit the spring look with a fuchsiacolored sweater, floral scarf, and a pair of blue jeans.

the day. Get a jump-start so you’re ready.

7. Start Your Garden. Nature also needs a little nudge. When you can see dirt instead of snow, it’s time to start working the soil. Start clearing, hauling, and tilling. Many plants start germinating when the ground gets around 55 degrees Fahrenheit during

9. Plant Tulips. There is no better plant to make us feel as if spring is here.

HERE COMES THE SUN HOW THE WEATHER AFFECTS OUR MOOD

Sun continued from B1 One study found that Minnesotan diners tipped more generously on sunny days. Investors may benefit in the same way as waitresses: American studies have observed better daily stock returns in sunny weather. The sun may melt hearts as well. In a 2013 study by French psychologist Nicolas Guéguen, an attractive male confederate approached unaccompanied young women and solicited their phone numbers. “I just want to say that I think you’re really pretty,” he cooed. “I’ll phone you later, and we can have a drink together someplace.” “Antoine” achieved an impressive success rate of 22 percent on sunny days but only 14 percent when it was cloudy. Guéguen’s finding of sun-assisted flirtation followed up his earlier studies on the effects of exposure to flowers (2011) and pastry aromas (2012) in priming women for seduction. Can we expect future studies on chocolate and puppies? Rarely have psychologists lived up to national stereotypes so well: The Americans study money; the French study romance. And the Australians study shopping. Research by Sydney’s Joseph Forgas shows that sunshine can also affect our mental sharpness. Shoppers exiting a boutique were quizzed about 10 unusual objects—including a toy tractor and a pink piggy bank—that had been placed in the check-out area. They correctly recalled seven times as many objects on cloudy days as on sunny ones. This effect accords with other findings that negative moods induce careful and systematic cognition. Gray weather may similarly induce sober, gray-flanneled thinking. In a paper titled “Clouds Make Nerds Look Good,” Uri Simonsohn showed that university admissions officers weighted the academic credentials of applicants more on overcast days, and their non-academic attributes more on sunny ones. Temperature can also affect our mind and behavior, independently of sunshine. The more it departs from an ideal of around 68 degrees Fahrenheit, the more discomfort we feel. One study found that rates of helping declined as temperatures dropped below or rose above this value.

In addition, the higher the temperature, the more people are likely to act aggressively. Rates of aggression are higher in hotter years, months, days, and times of day, a pattern observable for murders, riots, and car-horn honking. Baseball pitchers are more likely to hit batters on hot days, an effect that isn’t merely a result of having sweat-slick fingers. Heat may also increase verbal aggression. A recent study of news media coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics found that stories filed by American journalists contained more negative words on hotter days, even when they were writing about China in general rather than the games in particular. Aspects of weather beyond heat and sunshine have also been shown to affect mood. Humidity tends to make people more tired and irritable. Barometric pressure fluctuations can alter moods and trigger headaches, some studies finding a link between low pressure and suicide. On rainy days, people report lower satisfaction with their lives.

Weather influences our psychology in myriad subtle ways Weather influences our psychology in myriad subtle ways. Why this might be the case is not entirely obvious. One possibility is that the effects of weather on mood are primarily physiological. Excess heat causes discomfort by taxing our capacity to thermoregulate, and this causes irritability and aggression. Exposing skin to sunlight produces vitamin D, promoting the brain’s production of serotonin, which lifts mood. Exposure to bright lights, a treatment for people affected with the winter depressions of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), also enhances the mood of unaffected people. However, the effects of weather on mood are not straightforwardly biological. They are also psychological and social. One reason why heat is associated with aggression is that people BENJAMIN CHASTEEN/EPOCH TIMES

8. Start Spring Cleaning. Open the windows and let the fresh air in. If your schedule is really busy, try to clean, organize, and dispose of things you don’t need one room at a time. Try using green products this year.

10. Eat Out. Make a date with a friend to eat lunch at a restaurant that has patio seating the next time the temperature hits 55.

interact more in public in hot weather. Indeed, the effects of weather on mood depend on our behavior and on how we think. Most basically, weather will only influence us if we expose ourselves to it. On one estimate, people in industrialized societies tend to spend only 7 percent of their time outside. A study by U.S. psychology researcher Matthew Keller and colleagues showed that beneficial effects of warm and sunny conditions on mood were only seen in people who had spent more than 30 minutes outdoors that day. Good

weather even had negative effects on mood for people confined indoors, people who perhaps gazed enviously outside at the solar fun they were missing. It is hard to argue with Dr Keller’s prescription: “If you wish to reap the psychological benefits of good springtime weather, go outside.” Nick Haslam is professor of psychology at The University of Melbourne in Australia. e tend not think about how we sit, stand, or walk unless we have some type of injury or pain complaint. Imagine if we had to think about how we breathe all the time! We need habit to function. Nevertheless, it would be wise to invest some time studying some of these habitual patterns and learning improved ones that will ultimately serve us better. This is the basis of our work as Feldenkrais practitioners. This lesson will consider a simple movement of the foot that will illustrate an important concept in the Feldenkrais method. If you improve any part of the system, you improve the whole. Set aside at least 10 minutes to complete this lesson. Take your time and enjoy the process. Most people neglect their feet from a very young age. Whether our shoes are soft or hard, loose or tight, over time we lose the fine motor

control of our feet. With practice, we can improve and observe that our feet can even become an integral part of our breathing. When we begin to carve out time to consider the bigger picture, we ultimately feel more control and more confidence as we face the daily tasks ahead, says psychotherapist Julie Larson.

Simplify Your Life to Take Control of Anxiety By June Fakkert | Epoch Times Staff

M

ost of us experience anxiety— moments when the stress we feel is out of proportion with the situation at hand and not helpful for dealing with the challenges we face. However, even if our rational brain realizes this, handling these feelings in the heat of the moment can be very challenging. Psychotherapist Julie Larson, of The YinOva Center, said that most of us manage some level of anxiety, whether it’s smaller things like being late for an important meeting, long to-do lists with looming deadlines, or bigger things like an illness, the yearning for a life partner, or financial worries. She has found that by simplifying on multiple levels, we can train ourselves to handle anxiety so we’re less affected by it. She explained to the Epoch Times how this works. Epoch Times: What is simplifying? Julie Larson: Simplifying doesn’t mean taking a break or stepping away from the work of living. To me, simplifying means digging down deep and naming the values and priorities you use to define yourself and your “best life.” This becomes the foundation as you focus on the path ahead. When you sit with this inner truth, you might recognize you have work to do requiring you to let go of others’ expectations or even standards you’ve set for yourself that feel false. It might mean saying no to obligations that fall outside of your priority roles. Simplifying might also mean standing up for yourself or asking for what you need. Simplification often requires that you learn the skill of letting go and challenging assumptions. Based on what I watch in my office, my bet is that as you live your days thoughtfully guided by the intentions that are authentic and meaningful to you, you’ll notice you feel more energized and happier. And this energy can have a self-fulfilling effect in many different areas of your life.

Epoch Times: What are some ways we can gain more perspective? Ms. Larson: Perspective comes in many different colors. Perspective can be acknowledging what is working for you, alongside how much harder or worse circumstances could be. Perspective is realigning expectations for yourself so they match your values and priorities. Perspective is listening with an ear of compassion, working hard to understand where someone else is coming from. Perspective can also mean taking a break, shifting gears, and focusing on a different area of your life. The act of seeking perspective is a skill. The more you exercise and build perspective-seeking muscles, the more nuanced you become at using perspective in meaningful and helpful ways during hard times. Epoch Times: Urgent anxiety can affect us long after the intensity of the emotion has passed. Can you explain? Ms. Larson: Anxiety hijacks our ability to enjoy or even be present in the moment. When anxiety feels urgent, it can drive people to be irritable, impatient, and easily frustrated. This feverish anxiety can also rob us of the ability to think logically. These consequences can impact relationships and more significantly, lead to strong feelings of guilt or regret.

Epoch Times: How can gaining more perspective help with urgent anxiety? Ms. Larson: Becoming more aware of our experience of anxiety is the first step toward recognizing when we need to plug in our selfcare tools. Then we can work on cultivating behaviors that help us simplify and ground those intense moments. Epoch Times: What are some ways we can gain perspective around urgent anxiety? Ms. Larson: Questioning the urgent thinking, “What happens if I don’t get this done right now?” “What do I worry will transpire between now and the time I can get this answer?” “Have I been in this situation before? How did that go?” Answering these types of questions might help you begin to let some air out of the intensity of the worry.

Epoch Times: How can we simplify to reduce anxiety? Ms. Larson: In my office, I hear about hectic schedules, epic to-do lists, and lofty expectations from others and ourselves. It is no surprise that I also hear about sleepless nights and anxiety. When I talk about simplification, it’s about getting back to basics for how we live our lives and manage the day-to-day: how we breathe and ground ourselves through overwhelming moments, how we make a healthy habit of remembering our key values, how we actively seek out perspective, how we make conscious choices and prioritize our time.

SECRETS OF KOREAN MEDICINE

Reversing Respiratory Diseases Through Pulmonary Cleansing Part 21 COURTESY OF DR. SEO HYO-SEOK

By Dr. Seo Hyo-seok Spring is already upon us. It arrives in the sky in February and on land in March. We come to feel it in April. As such, the changes in the season are the rhythms created by the sky, earth, and man. The sequence of the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn and winter—reflect the stages of life between birth and death. This is because everything in the nature is borne out of the earth and returns to the earth. Even the Bible mentions that God shaped man with the earth and breathed life into the earthen figure through the nose to create man. Throughout our lives as human beings, we consume plants that grow out of the earth as well as animals that also thrive on such plants. So all the living organisms sustain their lives by acquiring energy from the earth, and the key to maintaining their lives is through healthy breathing. The human body maintains itself by repetitively filling and emptying the lungs with the life energy from the atmosphere through breathing. However, if the respiratory system composed of the nose, bronchial tubes and lung is invaded by various pathogens such as viruses, it can induce and aggravate illness as well as accelerate the aging processes. The cycle of respiratory disease is linked to the cycle of life and death.

If the common cold persists for more than 10 days, it develops into your own characteristic cold that is rooted in your body. The Aging Process of the Respiratory System From Birth to Death All respiratory diseases start with the invasion of a virus through the nose, which plays the role of the front door of breathing. If the first stage of the respiratory disease, sinus cold, is not properly treated, the second stage of respiratory disease will manifest with a sore throat. If the defense barrier at the tonsils, the base camp of immunity, is broken through, bronchitis—the third stage will set in. If the condition aggravates further, it can result in pneumonia, which is the fourth stage. This is the typical progression of respiratory diseases. When one catches the common cold and gets healed within a week, then, it is a true common cold. However, if the common cold persists for more than 10 days, it develops into your own characteristic cold that is rooted in your body, this is called rhinitis. Generally, the common cold is characterized by being infectious and feverish. Due to its infectious nature, a child with common cold will quickly spread it to other children at a daycare center. The common cold is frequently accompanied by high fever. However, your own characteristic cold, rhinitis, that has rooted itself into your body will not be infectious and does not generate fever. So with the exception of fever and infection, the common cold and rhinitis display the same symptoms. If rhinitis is not correctly treated and fully healed over a period of several decades, and when common cold accompanied by fever manifests, then, the cold is aggravated to the next stage and you will experience difficulties in breathing. This is referred to as asthma. You will feel the shortness of breath and begin to produce wheezing and rumbling sounds along with repetitive and spasmodic coughing. These are all symptoms of asthma. When patients have a X-ray taken of their respiratory system and are told that there is nothing wrong it will easily lead them to think that their lungs are healthy. However, this is far from the truth despite the fact that the lung may appear to be normal in a Computerized Tomography (CT scan) image. Lung health is categorized into ratings of A, B, C and D. An A rating indicates a healthy lung. A B-rated lung

All the living organisms sustain their lives by acquiring energy from the earth, and the key to maintaining their lives is through healthy breathing. means that there is rhinitis, and a C-rated lung indicates that asthma is present. Even if one suffers severe asthma, the pulmonary CT images will not reveal it. However, you must improve your lung into an A-rated lung if you do not wish to be confronted with severe pulmonary disease that will eventually lead to death. An A rating means that the lungs are healthy and not prone to catching the common cold with fever. This also indicates that the person can quickly overcome a sinus cold. Only when the health of the lung is improved to this condition, it is possible to get rid of rhinitis and asthma, and maintain healthy bronchial tubes and lungs. In the case of C-rated lung with asthma, it is possible for asthma attacks to manifest, suddenly leading one to fear for one’s life. If cold air reaches into the lungs, certain symptoms such as wheezing and a sudden narrowing of the respiratory tract will manifest, although there is no visual abnormality. When one visits the hospital with such symptoms, the doctors will prescribe inhaler-type steroids. Although steroids are known to be the most powerful anti-inflammatory treatment, their properties are in fact like narcotics. It is true that narcotics are the best drugs that can treat all diseases momentarily, but they come with an enormous penalty on the health. With the continual use of steroids, the skin, which is like a barometer that indicates the health of the lungs, becomes very rough at first, followed by the manifestation of atrophy. Atopy, rhinitis, and asthma belong to the same category of disease with the same root and they are the result of the degradation of pulmonary functions. If a steroid is used to treat asthma, weakening of the blood vessels is inevitable and will eventually result in atrophy. When the lungs are weakened, the heart also becomes weak and the blood vessels begin to lose their resilience. They will become more visible under the skin and hemorrhages can occur at various locations. The appearance of such hemorrhagic red spots on various parts of the body will markedly degrade the general quality of life. One will experience difficulty in sleeping, depression as the result of accumulated fatigue, a worsening of itchiness in the skin, and various complications will manifest, thereby inducing one to lose the will to live. If the conditions aggravate further, the lungs begin to be destroyed. Although the lungs appeared to be normal at the stage of asthma, continued use of steroids over many years will lead to clearly visible damages in the lungs even on CT scan images. Such damage will eventually lead to bronchiectasis in which the lung is filled with phlegm, pulmonary emphysema with perforation in the alveoli, and pulmonary fibrosis in which the lung becomes as hard as a rock. As the lung becomes substantially destroyed due to these three angels of death, pneumonia will manifest one day with shortness of breath and a substantially increased risk of death. Reversing the Progress of Respiratory Diseases Through Pulmonary Cleansing As illustrated above, from one’s birth to one’s death, respiratory diseases can be summarized into the four stages of: common cold, rhinitis, asthma, and severe pulmonary diseases. Although it is not possible for anyone to completely halt the progression of one’s life towards death, fortunately, it is possible to induce a turnaround in the health of the respiratory system. Then, how can the rapid advancement of respiratory diseases be stopped so that health is restored? I have treated more than 155,000 patients. This confirms that it is possible to make a turnaround in health. Exhaustive cleansing of the lungs will fortify the health of the tonsils. In general, it is possible to restore the health of the tonsils in two months, treat rhinitis in three months, and eventually eradicate the root of asthma in four months. After four months, one will experience the previous symptoms—shortness of breath, wheezing and grumbling sounds, followed by repetitive and spasmodic coughing, but they will all eventually disappear. Also, the skin’s appearance will improve and the face will become brighter. Continued pulmonary cleansing therapy will get rid

of the heat accumulated in the lungs, and activate the cardiopulmonary functions in order to fortify the health of the tonsils enabling them to regain the function of producing an abundance of lymphocytes. Damaged muscle layers and lesions in the bronchial tubes will be redressed and they will regenerate, thus restoring the resilience to the blood vessels as well. After about a year, the blood vessels will be completely restored, eradicating hemoptysis. In approximately two years, as the pulmonary cells are regenerated, it is possible to completely cure even pulmonary emphysema, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary fibrosis—all of which western medicine considers to be permanent. Fortification of the tonsils through pulmonary cleansing is the only secret to overcome and completely eliminate not only asthma, but also severe pulmonary diseases that have tormented mankind over several millennia in both the east and west.

The arrhythmia that one suffered for several decades, as well as the thoracic pain and angina will disappear. Once these diseases and symptoms are completely treated, it is important to prevent their recurrence. In order to prevent recurrence, it is also necessary to prevent the common cold. As long as the tonsils that safeguard the throat are healthy, it will combat the onset of the common cold quite definitely. One will not catch the common cold with fever and will easily overcome a sinus cold. It is quite common to hear comments from patients who have restored their health through pulmonary cleansing that they either barely experience the common cold, or that they easily overcome it. Even in the case of catching the common cold, this will not induce the recurrence of rhinitis or asthma. The most welcomed effect is that once asthma is cured, cardiac diseases are also cured concurrently. The arrhythmia that one suffered for several decades, as well as the thoracic pain and angina will disappear, allowing one to stop taking the angina medication that one may have taken for over a decade. Furthermore, atrial fibrillation, which is the cause of stroke, will disappear. I have seen countless numbers of patients who were ecstatic at having gotten rid of numerous chronic diseases by having cured asthma through the restoration of their cardiovascular health. The most common result is that they are now able to lead comfortable lives, in good health, without having to take any drug whatsoever. They have outstanding cognitive capabilities in their daily lives until they eventually pass away naturally of old age. They are the pioneers who are demonstrating that the era of true longevity with wonderful health has actually begun. As illustrated above, not only asthma, but also various respiratory diseases can be treated well with an amazing cure rate. There is nothing to be concerned about and nothing to fear. Just as new sprouts bud out of hard soil in the spring, it is possible for anyone to enjoy a happy life that spans into 100 years, in great health, if one is properly led to the path of true healing. Dr. Seo Hyo-seok is the director of the Pyunkang Korean Medicine Hospital, which has seven branches in South Korea, one at Stanton University in California, and one in Atlanta. Dr. Seo entered Kyung Hee University in Korea at the top of his class and after years of research, developed the Pyunkang-Hwan herbal formula, which improves immunity by strengthening lung function. It has helped cure over 155,000 patients of various conditions. Find out more at Pyunkang.com Email: Dr.Seo@wwdoctor.com
