Who Are We? Young Members Network The EPP Group Young Members Network consists of around 300 Members of national parliaments from the EPP political family and EPP Group Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) up to the age of 40 at the time of their election.

These young political leaders aspire to be a voice for all young Europeans.

The Young Members Network meets regularly to discuss future challenges and formulate joint policy answers that work for young people.

Enabling Business Talents

A Fresh Start for the Next Generation Cleaning up excessive debt and reorganising labour markets to create jobs for young people

Tackling administrative and financial obstacles to kick-start young entrepreneurs

Young people are doubly hit when they enter the job market: as if it is not difficult enough to try and find a job in economically difficult times, they will have to work longer to pay off the debt incurred by past generations.

The Young Members Network wants to support young entrepreneurs in their startup ventures by removing administrative and regulatory burdens and making access to financing easier.

Pumping money into a system that needs fixing without fixing the system first is irresponsible.

Therefore the Young Members Network pleads for a responsible management of public finances and a stronger European coordination of national budgets.

This will create the right conditions for new investments to be made, and for business to thrive.

Facilitating cross-border labour mobility and removing obstacles for businesses wanting to grow is the only sustainable way to fight the high rates of youth unemployment.

The Right Skills Equipping young people for the digital future The Internet of Things will require us to undergo a skills revolution for excelling in the 21st and 22nd centuries.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution offers immense educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, provided young people are equipped with the right skills - such as complex problem solving abilities, e-skills, and entrepreneurial and business capabilities.

The Young Members Network wants to prevent a ‘digital divide’ by equipping all young people with the skills needed to realise their full potential as learners, employees or entrepreneurs in a digital society.

The future EU Budget will therefore need to be more flexible, responsive to youth priorities and capable of mobilising sufficient resources to respond to unforeseen challenges, while maintaining an adequate level of financing for long-term priorities.

Today’s world offers more opportunities than ever for European-wide - and global entrepreneurship - but the barriers to selfemployment need to be lowered.
