Epstein’s lighting designers created a welcoming ambiance by incorporating sophisticated lighting to highlight the fine finishes of the renovated spaces. Some of the strategies included utilizing an LED warm glow dimming approach to imitate incandescent lighting, as well as creating “scenes” by integrating programmable lighting controls to adjust the light levels and create different lighting scenarios. The new bar makes a statement by incorporating pre-lit color-changing LED glass shelving, making the bar “glow.”
Westin Chicago Northwest
ITASCA, ILLINOIS
Epstein’s lighting design team developed lighting solutions that would enhance and create a distinct ambiance for each of the renovated spaces. Epstein’s lighting designers, through a combination of utilization of the newest technology in lighting, including utilizing LED light sources, color changing RGB, and dimming and automated controls, produced an overall lighting design solution that was an enormous upgrade to the original hotel spaces.
G&W Electric
BOLINGBROOK, ILLINOIS
Existing office space within the building was converted into a new product demonstration area called the “Customer Solutions Center”’ The dynamic new space is not only a marketing tool for G&W, but also a training ground for employees. It features a raised mezzanine area with access to simulated underground vaults and allows the customer to see the product in real-life situations. The Customer Solutions Center is fitted with state-of-the-art lighting, audio/visual equipment and bold graphics to create a wow-factor for the customer.
Whirlpool Global Headquarters
BENTON HARBOR, MICHIGAN
Epstein’s lighting designers were responsible for the complete design of lighting and lighting controls including interiors as well as site lighting. Interior lights included a decorative custom-made pendant that was made utilizing a Whirlpool washers’ interior drum. The main entrance feature wall received a decorative grazing light effect, complete with dynamic light effects.
Safehouse Chicago
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
New lighting and controls were integrated within the Safehouse operation, including the design of a White House “Oval Office,” which created a realistic-like and fun place for escape room participants.
Glanbia Performance Nutrition
DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS
Epstein lighting designers created a new, innovative arrangement of pendant lighting as well as new controls for the 2-story open office areas, library and offices. The lighting scope also included lighting and controls approach for the lab areas: circadian rhythm lighting (with corresponding controls) as well as specialty lighting for “testing areas” to be able to adjust light color and output to “mask” the look of the tested product - all with integrated controls, allowing for greater flexibility.

Epstein’s lighting team was responsible for the redesign on the main entrance and lobby, which included all new lighting and controls. In addition, a new amenity space was constructed that featured new lighting and controls as well as speciality lighting for the fitness area and yoga studio.

Interior and exterior renovation implementing the “Forever Young Initiative” (FYI) upgrades to guestrooms, corridors and public spaces, and a refresh of the exterior facades and porte cochere.
