WELCO M E “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” - Revelation 17:14
fully with Him and find in Him our strength, our song, our salvation. We want to experience the joy of salvation, and watch the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
There is something so glorious about this group of people that the Word of God brings to view; those whom the Word names as “called, and chosen, and faithful.” That those three characteristics could be found in these people is enough to ponder itself, but this is not what is so glorious to me. It is the fact that they are with Him.
While you are here at GYC, enjoy the fellowship, the presentations, the small groups, the testimonies, the exhibits; but never forget to take this time to be with Him above all. And take the time to rejoice in His presence, for He has promised, “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20. Let’s make Him especially welcome, especially delighted in, and especially worshipped this GYC, for it is the greatest honor we could ask for to be graced with His presence among us. And we want His Spirit to reign in this place.
They are with the Lamb - the One who is Lord of lords, and King of kings. The One who comes out on the other side of the battle of the ages having overcome all opposition, having overturned every false way, every lie, every pain, and afterwards has only beauty to give to the universe. His sacrifice, His triumph, extends into eternity. And these people are with Him, accompanying Him, in sympathy with Him, following Him wherever He goes. Their lot is fully cast with His. Welcome to GYC 2015, in Louisville Kentucky. This year thousands of young people are here from over twoscore countries, and we have gathered for one purpose: we want to be with Him. We want our lives to be following Him, accompanying Him, in sympathy with Him. We want to bring our hearts to His Word and bow to its sovereign, blessed authority. We want to cast in our lot
Enjoy GYC. We are so glad you are here! Join us in searching the Word of God, delving deep into the concept of the remnant, what it means to be Called, Chosen, and Faithful, and what that means to us today; and in cultivating an unquenchable thirst simply to be with Him.

M I S S I O N S TAT E M E N T T H E R E E X I S T S , TO DAY, an army of dedicated young people within the Seventh-day Adventist church who yearn to demonstrate Nehemiah’s leadership, Daniel’s integrity, Mary’s humility, Paul’s passion for evangelism, and Christ’s love for God and humanity. It is the goal of GYC and its members to seek and galvanize such young people. We aim to mobilize existing youth and young adult ministries that are fully committed to the distinctive message and mission of the Adventist church towards the proclamation of the three Angels’ Messages.
GYC SEEKS TO equip and inspire young people to be Christian ambassadors to their respective places of work and study by:
1) PROVIDING BIBLICAL TRAINING in the form of participatory workshops, Bible studies, and inspirational messages at its annual conference.
2) FOSTERING AND ENCOURAGING CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP among young people from diverse socioeconomic statuses, educational degrees, geographical locations, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.
3) CREATING NETWORK OPPORTUNITIES for Adventist young people and youth-oriented ministries.
4) ENCOURAGING YOUNG PEOPLE TO ASSUME LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES in the Seventh-day Adventist Church by employing their experience and talents in planning and presenting the annual conference and other events.
4
S P I R I T O F G YC In seeking to uphold the distinctive message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, GYC will promote among its participants: 1) A RESPECT FOR SCRIPTURE as the foundation and test of all teachings and practices. 2) AN APPRECIATION FOR THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY as an authoritative source of instruction, comfort, and warning. 3) A QUEST FOR BIBLICAL HOLINESS through a daily prayer and devotional experience with Jesus and a commitment to following His Word. 4) A VIBRANT WORSHIP EXPERIENCE that is characterized by principle, reverence, and decorum. 5) A PASSION FOR LOST SOULS animated by personal experience in the saving love of Jesus and a desire for His imminent return. 6) A CULTIVATION OF GODLY RELATIONSHIPS preserving purity and encouraging accountability. 7) AN EXEMPLARY AND ABUNDANT LIFESTYLE in recreation, entertainment, dress, and healthful living. 8) AN ENTHUSIASM FOR SERVICE through care for the needy, service to the community, promotion of human rights, and stewardship of the environment. 9) A COMMITMENT TO THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH as God’s remnant church by supporting and upholding its principles, organization, and leadership. 10) AN ATTITUDE OF HUMILITY AND CORDIALITY as we seek to clarify, articulate, and defend the Biblical teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist church.

Da n i el l e H a rriso n Unraveling the Gay Spin Introduced to sexual sin at a young age, Danielle’s struggle with same sex attraction grew deeply rooted and served as a conduit into other sin as she matured. In her youth, she disregarded authority and went stumbling into a life of open rebellion. She knows first hand what the world really has to offer and the terribly bitter crop it yields. Since she surrendered to Jesus, He has been using her story to share the message of Philippians 1:6. She has a special burden to warn the youth of the deceptions of the world, and to teach the blessing of remaining pure. Most of all she longs to encourage every soul that God truly can change any heart that will yield to Him.

P RESENTERS Scot t Ritsem a Biblically Correct: How to be Male in the 21st Century As founder and speaker for Belt of Truth Ministries, Scott Ritsema presents seminars on biblical sexuality, the dangers of entertainment media, and God’s incredible blueprint for parenting and education. Recently, Scott launched a second ministry initiative called 11th Hour Dispatch, which seeks to shed prophetic light on the astounding news headlines of the unprecedented times in which we live. Scott broadcasts a daily current events radio show at 11thHourDispatch.com from rural mid-Michigan, where he also enjoys country living with his wife, Cami, and two little boys, Levi and Silas. Both 11th Hour Dispatch and Belt of Truth Ministries are stationed in the exhibit hall.
Sebasti en B r a xto n Evening Plenaries Sebastien Braxton is one of the founders of R3 Inc., an Adventist think tank that seeks to combine biblically innovative approaches to spiritual awakening with traditional forms of evangelism. He is the former program director for CAMPUS and the founder of STRIDE, public campus ministry training programs in Michigan and Boston respectively. Sebastien is a radical young preacher that seeks to open God’s heart through the scriptures and the Adventist end-time message.
Ta j Pac l eb Morning Devotionals Taj Pacleb is the speaker/director of Revelation of Hope Ministries. Born and raised in the islands of Hawaii with no Christian background, Taj got involved in a reckless life of drugs and partying. His life was completely transformed at age 16 when he attended a Bible prophecy seminar. Since then, God has taken Taj around the world as an international evangelist and revivalist, conducting seminars in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Pacific Islands, and in the United States. Taj enjoys motocross, scuba diving, snowboarding, skateboarding, mountain biking, surfing, and photography. But, his supreme passion is traveling the world with his wife, Wati, sharing God’s end time message of hope with others. Their mission is “to change the population of heaven one soul at a time by sharing the Hope, Health, and Harmony of Heaven in all the world.”
V er a O n ko ba Plenary Session: “Faithfulness: God’s Keeping Power” My name is Vera and, by the grace of God, I am a seeker of truth and a disciple of Jesus who is my personal Saviour and Creator! I was born and raised in Kenya, by God’s grace, having loving parents, Susan and Zadock Onkoba, and four siblings whom I love dearly. Several years ago my family migrated to this country, and it was here that my walk with Jesus began and continues to grow. I grew up as a Seventh-day Adventist thanks to missionaries who introduced my grandfathers (on both sides of my family) to the Three Angels’ Message and the Everlasting Gospel. My story is simple: I love Jesus so much for who He says He is and what He has done for me. I am indebted to God for His faithfulness to me and His keeping power. I love people! I enjoy nature tremendously. By trade and ministry, I am a nurse and find joy in being involved in full-time ministry.

Way n e B l a kely Unraveling the Gay Spin Not so many years ago, there was no practical guidance from the church related to individuals with “same-sex attraction.” Without answers, gays began to adapt to like-minded people with the same “feelings.” Helpless and hopeless, I walked into the open arms of the gay community and lived there for forty years. God never gives up on those whose hearts will respond to Him. He sometimes allows us to walk down roads with “dead ends” just so we can recognize our great need of Him. The church didn’t come and get me. God did. He revealed His “truth in love” message to me. He offers His victory for me to claim daily. Today, I choose to cling to Jesus, instead of my flesh and what comes natural to me. My safety is only in an unbroken relationship with Him. I am a Co-Director and Co-Founder of ‘Coming Out’ Ministries, and the Director of Know His Love Ministries.
Way n e K a b l a n ow Medical Missionary Work & the Three Angels’ Message Wayne Kablanow had a re-conversion experience while in college in 1970, which changed the direction of his life. He started studying the Bible and writings of Ellen White four hours a day while taking Engineering classes at Walla Walla College (University now). During that time of intense study, he came across the concept of Medical Missionary Work. It was at that time that he experienced a call from God to enter the pastoral ministry and, therefore, changed his major to Theology. Throughout his 35 years of pastoral ministry, he had conducted health programs as a major outreach focus; however, he realized that he was only scratching the surface when it came to really doing Medical Missionary Work in accordance to God’s instructions. He longed to have a team ministry with a dedicated Adventist physician, and that dream came true about 10 years ago when he teamed up in ministry with Dr. John Torquato. The last 10 years have been focused on learning how to implement God’s instructions regarding Gospel Medical Evangelism in the context of our world today.

TO P I C S A dv entist A p o lo g e ti c s: Co m p l ex Issu es , A dv entist A n swers Andy Im Adventism offers a biblical, comprehensive understanding to life’s most pressing questions. In addition, a select panel will discuss several theological issues facing the Seventh-day Adventist Church today.
B e au t y 2 .0 : Fo r Wo m en o n ly Janice Watson This series provides a biblical perspective on some of the critical issues that Christian young women face today as they seek to “follow the Lamb wherever He goes.”
B e yo n d th e Tith e: P r acti c a l L esso n s o n P erso n a l Fi n a n c e Alistair Huong Nearly all divorces involve financial problems; student loans are crippling an entire generation; and the US national debt is headline news almost every day—yet money is still one of the most taboo subjects today. This practical seminar will tackle questions you’ve had about money but didn’t know how to ask, like: Is it wrong for a Christian to want to make money? When is it OK to have debt? How much does God expect me to give in offerings? How should I invest? Do I spend too much money? And more! From his experience of paying off his house in just 2 years, regularly saving over 50% of his income, and running a personal finance blog (all while working on a ministry salary), Alistair will share a refreshingly practical and Biblical perspective on personal finances. You will be inspired to attain financial freedom and come away with simple, common-sense tools to do it.
B i b l i c a l ly Co rrect: H ow to b e M a l e i n th e 2 1st C ent u ry Scott Ritsema Just as was predicted over a hundred years ago, Satan is now working masterfully to neutralize and destroy the influence of the mighty men of God in the last days. Cultural confusion regarding gender… An on-going and age-old counterfeit masculinity… The pornographic assault on the male brain... In the midst of this madness, our culture desperately needs balanced, biblical answers to the gender and sexuality questions of our time. What does the Bible have to say about maleness to a society immersed in hyper-competitiveness, in-your-face sexual deviancy, and an aggressive political correctness regime? How can we gain victory over the lusts of the flesh in a pornographic culture? And what does it mean to me, personally, to be a man of God in the last days?

This seminar is open to both guys and ladies because it is essential for women to understand God’s plan for men (and vice versa) so that the two can work in concert. The attack on masculinity and men is merely one branch of the wider, multifaceted strategy to destroy the spiritual power of both males and females, and ultimately, the family and the church, as well. - Submit your question or your brief victory story on the contact page at BeltofTruthMinistries.com
Egy p t, th e Exo d us a n d M oses’ Q u est fo r G o d’s D esti n y Michael Hasel What if there were a real war raging between the forces of light and darkness in this universe for each one of us? How do we join the fight for right? How do we train for it? The galaxies and their planets have been waiting for this moment in earth’s history, and the battle is intensifying. This seminar takes us back to ancient Egypt where the origins of a “force within” ideology was born. We will gain lessons from a careful study of the life of Moses, the dramatic Exodus experience, and the quest for the Promised Land. Are you ready to begin the journey?
Extrem e M a keov er: Pathway to H e a lth St y l e Chris Lewis, Lela Lewis, Don Mackintosh Your best Pathway to Health has resulted in an Extreme Makeover-Pathway Style for medical missionary work. With God’s miraculous power, similar to apostolic times, the movement has serviced nearly 13,000 patients worth 40 Million dollars in free healthcare and resulted in countless thousands being exposed to the gospel. This seminar equips attendees with the knowledge to become an Ambassador for Your best Pathway to Health (YbPTH), and thereby to hold varying sizes of Pathway to Health events within their local city, or home church. Each attendee will receive a free YbPTH manual, recommended budget, inexpensive access to permanent equipment for local use and most importantly learn how to provide comprehensive healthcare to each patient, including physical, mental and spiritual health. YbPTH is a service of ASI in partnership with the Seventh-day Adventist church, Adventist Health and Loma Linda University along with many other entities.
Extrem e P re ac h i n g Duane McKey After taking a similar class, a pilot friend of mine recently said, “My experience was more frightening than flying a twinengine plane upside down in a thunder storm and then losing one engine that has just caught on fire.” But after preaching he said, “This has been the best experience of my life.” You will learn about living on the edge. Extreme Preaching is a seminar designed to help you build confidence in preaching evangelistic sermons from God’s Word. When you get out of the boat and start to sink, that’s when you need God the most. After making your first call and having people accept Jesus as their Saviour, it will be the most exciting, outstanding, exhilarating, “EXTREME” experience of your life. DON’T MISS THIS SEMINAR!

In the long war against God, the bundle of rights we know as religious liberty have often been disputed. This seminar traces the history of those battles from Bible times, through the Protestant Reformation, the Inquisition, the American experiment, to the future as outlined in prophecy. Every Christian should avail themselves of the opportunity to learn about the issues now, before the final storm breaks. Forewarned is forearmed!
TO P I C S G o d’s Fi n a l C a l l : Th e Th ree A n g el s’ M essag es Charissa Fong Have you ever wondered what the three angels’ messages are all about? Have you ever wanted to tell someone else about them, but not known where to start? If so, you are invited to join us for a journey into the heart of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, as we seek Him out.
H e a l i n g B ro ken Rel ati o n sh i p s Kaela Thompson A Storm is Coming… It is important to know through Bible prophecy WHAT is coming. But, it is even more important to know HOW to get personally ready for what is coming! Healing Broken Relationships was given to help you and your family to get your heart and mind ready for the approaching storm. Our World is Broken... So much suffering. So much that doesn’t make sense. This brokenness has led to the many conflicts and broken relationships we’re seeing and experiencing, not only in our world but also in our Church. There are people who are walking around wounded with no hope of healing, or who don’t even realize that they need healing. Healing Broken Relationships was given to meet these needs so that hurting people can be healed by God’s love.
M ed i c a l m issi o n a ry wo rk & th e Th ree A n g el s’ M essag e Wayne Kablanow, John Torquato Medical Ministry is not just a good outreach method; it is an essential demonstration of the character of God, the Great Medical Missionary. It is a vital part of the “”Loud Cry”” of the Third Angel’s Message. The Latter Rain of the Holy Spirit will only take place as the Medical Missionary work is combined with the message of the Everlasting Gospel. What the world needs to see is Jesus in His fullness--not only in doctrine but also in demonstration. Then, Jesus will come! This seminar will endeavor to unlock these truths. Every member of God’s church is CALLED to be a Medical Missionary. Every willing person is CHOSEN by God to do practical work for others to demonstrate His character. Every person who is FAITHFUL to this work will provide to the world a vision of Christ as he or she combines medical missionary work with the gospel.

Pastor Wayne Kablanow and Dr. John Torquato will help you understand how the medical missionary work is to help prepare a people for the second coming of Jesus. They will provide an overview of Scriptural background, history, principles and concepts, and current day examples of medical missionary work. As you participate in this seminar, their prayer is that you will choose to heed God’s call into the work known as the Right Arm of the Gospel.

Homer Trecartin The world is facing a clash of cultures like never before in history. It affects Adventists and our end-time work. This seminar will use many stories, pictures, culture clashes, and Bible passages to examine what it means to be called, chosen, and faithful? It was easy for Jonah to be a faithful prophet as long as God called him to work in Joppa. But when he was chosen to go to Nineveh… Well, did you know that ancient Nineveh is where Mosul Iraq is today? So if God told you to pack your suitcase and tomorrow go to Mosul and preach to ISIS, that would be pretty much the same as what He asked Jonah to do. Would you go? Are you sure you are called and chosen? And if so, will you be faithful - anywhere?
P u re Passi o n : H u n g eri n g a n d Th i rsti n g A f ter G o d Natasha Nebblett Have you ever experienced the dissatisfaction of intellectually esteeming God but not having a passionate love for Him? Have you tasted a disinteresting, lukewarm experience with God? In the message to the Laodicean church, God gives a prescription for laying aside lukewarmness and finding love again. And not a merely intellectual love, but the pure passion of a life-altering, burning love for the Almighty.
Re ac h th e Wo rl d N ext D oo r Scott Griswold, Dee Casper Millions of immigrants, refugees, and international students surround us. We can take the gospel to the entire world through them. Learn how to make friendships and share the gospel cross-culturally. Don’t wait. Be a missionary now.
Rem n a nt I d entit y: Wh o We A re a n d Wh y it M at ters Mark Finley Is the Seventh-day Adventist church one among many Christian denominations that have some facets of truth to contribute to the whole body of Christ, or is the Adventist Church a unique movement of God raised up to proclaim His final message to mankind? Is it arrogant to believe that the Seventh-day Adventist church is the remnant of Revelation? What are the identifying marks of God’s last day movement? What is the destiny of the Seventh-day Adventist church? Will it fracture and divide into various splinter groups, or will it rise to its destiny to fulfill God’s purpose? In this solidly biblical seminar, we will study the scriptural basis of the remnant and examine Ellen White’s counsel on God’s last day movement. This seminar will prepare you for the challenging days ahead and give you a solid foundation for your biblical faith.

TO P I C S C h rist I n M e = GYC Gregory Jackson This seminar is based on this statement made by Ellen White in the book Christ Object Lessons, page 415 & 416: “Those who wait for the Bridegroom’s coming are to say to the people, ‘Behold your God.’ The last rays of merciful light, the last message of mercy to be given to the world, is a revelation of His character of love. The children of God are to manifest His glory. In their own life and character, they are to reveal what the grace of God has done for them” (COL 415.5, emphasis supplied). Therefore, this seminar will show people how daily surrender is the way to receive the power to not only preach the gospel with their lips but also, more importantly, to demonstrate its power with their lives.

THEMES 20 02— P ENTECOST: H E WI L L D O IT AGA I N / PINE SPRINGS RANCH, CALIFORNIA The first GYC reached maximum capacity when 400 people registered and registration had to be closed early. The theme reminded us that God can and will repeat the miracles He has performed in the past.
20 03 — H I G H ER TH A N TH E H I G H EST / ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN
Over 1,000 young adults were challenged to strive for excellence in every sphere of life. We were inspired to reach “Higher than the Highest”—to give God our best and surrender every aspect of our lives to Him.
20 04— C A RRY TH E L I G HT / SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA
Witnessing and evangelism as a way of life were emphasized to the more than 1,800 attendees. This was put into practice when over 600 young people knocked more than 5,000 doors, enrolling over 800 people in Bible studies.
20 05— N OW IS TH E TI M E / CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE
The 3,600 young attendees were impressed with the nearness of Christ’s return and encouraged to prepare our hearts and lives. Outreach connected 1,200 Bible study interests with lay Bible workers for a series by Mark Finley.
20 06 — BY E V ERY WO RD / BALTIMORE, MARYLAND
More than 4,000 young adults were infused with a desire to wholeheartedly embrace a life of total surrender to Biblical principle. We knocked on thousands of doors in preparation for an evangelistic series after GYC.
20 07— B E / MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA
Young people filled the Minneapolis convention center to hear a call to BE God’s people at the end of time. Many braved the freezing cold of Minneapolis to knock on thousands of doors, sharing the warm love of Jesus Christ.
20 0 8 — FO R TH IS P U RP OSE / SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA
GYC hosted its seventh annual conference in San Jose, California. We studied how we could reflect Christ’s character. Over 5000 attendees discovered themselves thinking and planning differently—truly finding purpose in life.
20 09 — U N ASH A M ED / LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY
The GYC 2009 conference, “Unashamed”, was based on Romans 1:16. To be unashamed of the gospel is to proudly proclaim it wherever you are. Paul let nothing hinder him from spreading the truths of God’s word, and today we also want to preach the good news in whatever we do.
20 1 0 — N O T U RN I N G BAC K / BALTIMORE, MARYLAND
32
In 2006, we filled 29 buses with people for outreach and knocked on about 9,000 doors. Four years later, GYC was back in Baltimore. But this time we had more than 3,000 people filling 72 buses. In two hours they knocked on nearly 40,000 doors distributing more than 70,000 pieces of literature “like the leaves of autumn!”
20 1 1 — FI L L M E: O U R E A RN EST P L E A / HOUSTON, TEXAS
The focus of the entire conference was the Holy Spirit—from His person in theology to His work in humanity. More than 7,000 young people gathered in Houston, Texas, under one roof, with one purpose. To listen, learn, and pray. And our prayer was simple—“fill me.”
20 12—ACTS: TH E RE VO LU TI O N CO NTI N U ES / SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
Thousands of young people flooded the city of Seattle where we were challenged to live unordinary lives, modeled after the apostolic church, and continue that revolution started so long ago and turned the world “up-side down.”
20 13 — B EFO RE M EN A N D A N G EL S / ORLANDO, FLORIDA
Exploring the metanarrative of the great controversy, attendees at GYC’s 2013 conference came to a deeper understanding of the cosmic conflict between God and Satan, and its experience and implications in the daily lives of humanity. In conjunction with the study of the theme, participants took the book The Great Controversy door to door, sharing thousands of copies with people across Orlando.
20 1 4—AT TH E C ROSS / PHOENIX, ARIZONA
For GYC 2014, the focus was on what Christ did for us at the cross. Each message directed attendees back to the reason for their faith, along with the motivation to live and share it with the world.
20 15— C a l l ed. C h osen . FA ITH FU L / LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY
“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called and chosen and faithful.” (Rev. 17:14) The calling of the remnant woven through the Bible culminates in the book of Revelation. Here the story of the people of God ends in triumph. It is here the record of their trials and characters is completed. These are the called. These are they who have stood with Him through the last battle. Many are called to stand, but few are chosen. The chosen ones have received their duty from the Master. They have accepted the Lamb’s calling to stand with Him. They are faithful to His Word and shine with the light of His character. This year, GYC will uncover what it means to be Called. Chosen. Faithful.

“True education means more than the pursual of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.”

Thousands of wealthy men have gone to their graves unwarned because they have been judged by appearance and passed by as hopeless subjects... There are thousands of rich men who are starving for spiritual food. Many in official life feel their need of something which they have not... Shall we make no personal effort in their behalf? —Ellen White, 6T 78.3

A C K N OW L E D G E M E N T S WITHOUT THE DEDICATION and commitment of countless volunteers, GYC would cease to exist. The
immense effort involved in planning a yearly conference of this magnitude, as well as administration, maintaining the website, facilitating networking, developing resources, and coordinating evangelism requires much sacrifice. Thankfully, GYC has been blessed with a volunteer corps par excellence. Unfortunately, all names cannot be mentioned here due to lack of space. However, a few noteworthy individuals and organizations deserve mention.
