Erik Lim, Lieutenant Governor of Division 16

QUIRKEY

Elections I truly enjoy being Lieutenant Governor but I cannot be selfish and have the position all to myself. I have been at it for quite a while now and it is now time for me to pass down the baton. I will be holding elections soon. They will be taking place on Saturday, February 1st at 2PM at the Fairview Library. Please take note of this and plan accordingly. At this elections I will need the attendance of at least 2 club members per representing club to act as delegates. This is extremely imperative in terms of the election process so please let me know if there is any conflict with the scheduling. You will be electing the potential new Lieutenant Governor that will be representing this Division. Before the elections please take note that there will be our 4th Divisional Council Meeting at this time.

The Position of Lieutenant Governor A Lieutenant Governor: -Represents each of the twenty-two divisions in the New Jersey District. -Serves as a liaison between the clubs in his or her division and the District Board, as well as their representative. -Serves on District committees as needed. -Holds Officers Training Conferences. -Organizes divisional service projects. -Holds Divisional Council Meetings. -Visits each club in his or her division. -Publishes at least ten newsletters for his or her clubs. -Must be in constant contact with his or her clubs, the executive board, and the Kiwanis Board. The duties are many and the time commitment is large, but the amazing leadership experience obtained is even greater. Page 2

Re-Divisioning, Sixteen Going on Seventeen

As of the next service year, it saddens me to say the division you are all familiar with as Division 16 will now be Division 17. Thankfully, in the whole redivisioning process all of the clubs will be the same and there are no changes other than that of a simple name. Although with my years of experience the words Division 16 meant a lot to me and I hope that the words Division 17 will mean a lot to you all next year. After reading through the basic descriptions of all the positions and you still have questions feel free to contact me at ltgerik@gmail.com or any other form of communication that is comfortable for you. Also, you do not have to be an officer of your Key Club to run for Lieutenant Governor or District office. Any passionate member is eligible and encouraged to run.

District Convention I started my first newsletter with a recap of District Convention and it seems that it has come full circle with District Convention approaching soon. I urge all clubs to attend this event. I have already sent out the packets with the corresponding information of how to register along with links of promotional Facebook Coverphotos and Profile Pictures. Utilize these resources as you please. Here is a quick list of things about things that you can do before the actual District Convention: There are several contests to enter for including: A Talent show, Oratorical and Impromptu Essay contest so you can start considering these options.
