Hi,
I am Erwin. I fell in love with architecture since my ďŹ rst time studying architecture on campus. Since then, I have been passionate about exploring the world of architecture by joining competitions, seminars, workshops, reading books or articles, and learning things related to architecture. In my opinion, architecture is more than just creating space, but also creating habits and life. During my studies period, I learn how to put ideas into a design, how to think critically, how to see things in many perspectives, and so on. There is a motto that I believe is "Do the best and let God do the rest". I hope that I can learn more in the future and go through the process of reaching my dream to becoming an architect.

NATAH Contemporary Art Center Architecture Final Project / Thesis
Bali is known for its arts, culture, traditions and strong values. This “Contemporary Art Center in Gianyar, Bali is designed to respond to the development of contemporary art in Bali by becoming a space for the society to do contemporary art creativity and also balinese cultural activities. However, in line with the development of the contemporary art, the society (especially the young generation) are now starting to leave the culture and values that exist in Bali. Therefore, as a contribution to preserving Balinese local wisdom, a traditional Balinese architectural concept called "natah is used in this design, which is interpreted in a contemporary style.

BALINESE LOCAL WISDOM
The population of the younger generation is starting to lose awareness of the preservation of Balinese local wisdom and cultural activities.
Implementing Balinese local wisdom concept to the design in a contemporary way CONTEMPORARY B A L I N E S E ARCHITECTURE
Gianyar is known as “The City of Arts” in Bali
Balinese Traditional Architecture as a local wisdom
The balinese people in ancient times often do their daily activities outside the building space named “natah”. The activities such as temporary reception room, agricultural drying room, religious ceremony, children's play room, planting room, etc. Besides as a space for activities, natah also has a natural function as a space for air circulation and sunlight to create comfortable space in the building.
Why “Natah” ? Mountain
Natah has a very important meaning for the life of the Balinese people, because natah is a reflection of the social life of the community, both socio-spiritual, socio-economic, and sociocultural. What makes “natah” interesting is because it’s empty space (not a building), but it is full of meaning, besides being physically multipurpose

However, due to the increase of population density in Bali, Balinese people nowadays are starting to forget about natah as a necessary space, for reasons of limited space, space efficiency, and so on. Therefore, this project can be an embrio of awareness for the community about the importance of natah as a based on ordering space, and the beneficial in both philosophically, functionally, and ecology as harmony with tropical climate.

DESIGN TRANSFORMATION
1 The mass of the podium with an area of 7,500 square meters (30% KDB) with a total of 3 floors. The mass pattern on the podium is a single mass pattern.
3 The shape is adjusted to the position of the podium which is close to the shape of the site which is slightly cut so that it is given a hollow in the shape of the previous petal.
5 The mass of the tower is made with 19 floors with a single mass pattern (local regulations about building height was neglected). The basic shape of the tower is taken from the by combining 2 basic shapes of circles and triangles which are combined to resemble the simple shape of jempiring flower petals.
7 Then, analogizing the dynamic form of the line dance which is the mascot / logo of the city of Denpasar, is interpreted by turning the building towards the face chessboard, with a 45 degree slope.
2 The basic form of the podium mass takes the analogy of a jempiring flower petal which is the mascot of the city of Denpasar, and responding the existing potential of Catur Muka, Puputan Badung Field, and Jl. Gajah Mada.
4 The shape is also adapted to the shape of the circulation path on the site, and also takes the bebadungan analogy by making a game back and forth on the front facade of the podium.
6 To strengthen the identity of Balinese architecture and culture, the analogy of Candi Bentar is applied which is interpreted by means of playing back and forth on a typical floor plan, so that it seems that the basic shape of the temple (which is simplified) can be seen from three sides, namely from the face chess catch point, the catch point. jl Udayana-beliton intersection, and catching point for Jl Gajah Mada and Pasar Badung.
8 Applying the bebadungan bali concept by making an oversteck around the sides on each floor, with an oversteck length of 2 meters. This overstek serves to protect the indoor space from the heat of the sun during the day.

Kampung Jawa Riverside Center (3rd Prize Winner) Gaung Bandung 2018 “Sayembara Tanpa Batas” by Institut Teknologi Bandung
In Denpasar Bali, there are several transition zones which have an impact on the emergence of inequality both spatially, socially and economically. One of the transition zones that has all three issues is Kampung Jawa. Kampung Jawa is a small settlement that has been known by the Balinese people, especially Denpasar as a center for buying and selling goats. As the name suggests, Kampung Jawa or "Javanese Village" is inhabited by a majority of people who are descendants from the Javanese region who settled in Denpasar from the past until now. Kampung Jawa has been known as a slum and also the center of the goat trade in Denpasar. Kampung Jawa Riverside Center is a project that make an inclusive space in access to the transition zone that reviving the village’s potential and redesign it to be a collaborative public space that contains some function such as goat market, productive garden, fishing park, pujasera (foodcourt), and community space.

Mother Nature Awaken (Top 10 Indonesian Division) International Student Competition of Architectural Design & Construction of Bamboo 2019 “Not Only Dynamic Bamboo Corridor at Nansha Bird Park, Guangzhou, China
“ The earth has been damaged and filled with every corruption and pollution caused by human negligence itself. Mother nature (the earth) awake from her long sleep to heal herself with her spirit and energy to bring back the balance of nature so all the being have a better life and can live in better environment. This corridor not only functions as a corridor that is passed by humans, but has an attractive function by presenting the sound of nature through musical instruments installed on bamboo installations, and also functions to become an ecosystem for birds to nest in certain spaces on bamboo installations.

Nansha Bird Park is a center for the preservation of a variety of unique and diverse bird species, as well as tourist attractions for domestic and international tourists. China is a country well-known as a “Bamboo Curtain" country because of its abundant bamboo resources. Therefore, development in China should make use of the potential of their bamboo resources that is owned from their own country. The construction system that we use tends to be easy to implement because it is a conventional system, and can be done off site first, and later it can be finished or installed on the bridge site (pre-constructed). The main structural system uses a modular system, then is equipped with a secondary structure and outer structure that has been done previously outside the bridge site, then installed on the bridge site. Although the structure is modular, the arrangement is made flexible to give a unique experience.

Djampi Oesodo (Top 10) Sepekan Arsitektur 2019 “Mbangun Desa by Universitas Atmajaya Yogyakarta
Kiringan Canden Village is one of the potentials possessed by the Special Region of Yogyakarta in the tourism sector as a tourism village as well as a traditional center for producing jamu. However, the existence of this village does not get the attention of the community because of the absence of facilities and infrastructure that support this village. The concept we carry in our design is "Djampi Oesodo" which comes from the Javanese language Kromo Inggil, where "Djampi" means jamu and "Oesodo" which means health. Therefore, our main concept is to raise jamu as the identity of an authentic tourism in Indonesia.

The development of infrastructure and architecture in Indonesia over the last few years does not deny the change in the level of concern for children, which can be seen from the lack of child-friendly facilities available in big cities. In fact, children need facilities that allow them to learn motorically for their physical and mental development. HomePila HomePimpa is as an inclusive learning and play space for all children in terms of age, background, and limitation. The concept is to creating the children learning and playground space based on physical, emotional, social, and intellectual of children aspects, and also maintaining cultural and philosophical context and applied to the building design.
