TULIP’S MOST LOAF-ED BAKERS OF THE YEAR The lockdown pushed our creative limits to their extent. Not being able to enjoy our favourite dishes and desserts was testing, but a blessing in disguise were the home-bakers that emerged in 2020. And our home bakers did not disappoint us in satiating our sweet tooth. Despite logistical challenges and scarcity of materials, these talented bakers still whipped up delightful desserts for us to savour. Here are Tulip’s Top 3 for the year. Celebrations Patisserie The young bakers at Celebration Patisserie offer the yummiest cakes and desserts in Town. Suman Deva and Inthiyaz started this patisserie in 2017, and quickly their baked goods became the talk-of-the-town. Gradually they built “Celebrations Patisserie”, their passion turned into profession and now they have strong base of loyal customers which is ever increasing. From a range of Borwnies, Cheescakes and Tarts to delicious cake jars, there desserts are now a rage during the Festive season.

“It was viewing cake shows on TLC of Nigella Lawson and Rachel Allen’s, combined with our own penchant for creativity that pushed us into exploring their talents, and finally we decided to take this up professionally. Not Just Vanilla During lockdown, Not Just Vanilla got a great response for their fusion jars. And surely their desserts were very divine and decadent. They brought us desserts like Rasberry Rasgulla, Motichoor Cheescake and their best seller, the Pull Me Up cakes will just pull your day up once you taste them. “I started baking as a hobby through online classes my aunt, Shikha Murarka a celebrity chef in Mumbai, took during the lockdown, and before I knew I was hooked. It was difficult for me to decide to do it professionally as I also work full time with my father, but somehow it became easy to manage. It’s overwhelming to receive a message from a happy client telling that my desserts made their day. I believe I have more flavours to offer besides the traditional ones, hence the name Not Just Vanilla”.

The Cake Affair This duo baking sisters started their journey back in 2017, and through word-of-mouth and Instagram.
