MEMBERSPOTLIGHT

Kacey Gay

Kacey moved to Black Diamond in July of 2012. Having worked and lived in Maryland, Louisiana, Australia, Pennsylvania, South and Central Florida, where she and her Husband came through the gates of Black Diamond, this is where they decided to settle and retire John has since passed, but Kacey keeps busy with the friends she's met and plays as much golf as possible, in numerous groups throughout the week the tee 'em up, as well as participating in outside ladies' groups and FSGA events She also has been and is still active in the committees You may see her walking her Scottish Terriers or taking them for cart rides at the end of each day Kacey is also an avid swimmer, practicing with the Masters Team at the YMCA during the week where she'll average 2.5 miles per day before dawn. Finding Black Diamond was great with the courses and facilities offered, but moreover with the people and friendships created here. Kacey is here year-round gratefully enjoying life.

GOLFCOURSEUPDATE

GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

This past February, we applied our annual mole cricket insecticide and will apply a granular fertilizer with Ronstar as pre-emergent herbicide. These two applications will help set the foundation for another growing season at Black Diamond. With a warm spring, we plan on opening up thinner areas on some of the fairways with a slicer to assist in a quicker green up This is all in an effort to promote the turf and get it growing.

Cultural programs on greens will also increase as we enter spring Light topdressing, vertical mowing, and venting will be common through the month. We be working around the member tournaments with these practices. Short grass on the Ranch will be foliar fertilized weekly this month and foliar fertility on shortgrass on the Highlands and Quarry will continue as well

Please feel free to reach out to me anytime with any questions or concerns.
