WELCOME A MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER, THE GALLERY GOLF CLUB Jeremy Duda The South course bunker renovation is moving forward at a much greater pace than last year’s North project. Holes one through four have been demoed and bunkers have been rough shaped. The architect is back on property through Thursday of this week to oversee final shaping of holes one through four as well as laying out design for holes fourteen through eighteen. Our goal is to complete the inner loop first so Members will have access to play nine holes on South while the work is being completed on the outer loop. The Gallery golf staff is working with The Golf Club at Dove Mountain Golf staff to finalize the 2022/2023 golf events calendar. We should have this completed early next week and will email the dates to all Members upon completion. Just a reminder the driving range will be closed during summer on Tuesdays from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM for maintenance work. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

GOLF AT THE GALLERY COURSE MAINTENANCE UPDATE Noah Gessler Monsoon season officially started on June 15th and we’ve already seen changes. Increases in humidity leads to more bermudagrass growth and helps the transition process continue. We have also applied products to eliminate the ryegrass and further help. High heat dictates the application of a lot of water to the bentgrass greens to help them survive. In addition to nightly irrigation, we dedicate a lot of time to checking and managing moisture. We use soil moisture meters to check and handwater low areas as needed. The increase in water leads to a lot of growth and very soft conditions.

As the humidity increases, the bentgrass has a hard time cooling itself, leading to changes in the physiology of the plant and even more growth. We have to be cautious with mowing heights and increase them as necessary to avoid damage. We will be lightly verticutting and topdressing as well as venting from time to time to do what we can to keep up with the soft conditions and increased growth. The South bunker project is underway and the crew is making great progress. They are working off of the architects’ plan and we will be seeing a different style of bunker edges than previously. The internal drainage and liner system is the same as was installed on the North course. The sand will be a slightly different shade of white but will be of the same high quality as the North. We are very excited to see the results!

Bunker restoration on the South course is underway! PAGE 4

GOLF AT THE GOLF CLUB AT DOVE MOUNTAIN DOVE MOUNTAIN UPDATE Matt Nuechterlein

Summer has officially arrived in the desert. This provides our staff some time to prepare for the busy season which begins in October. We are very much looking forward to continue to improve upon our Member Event momentum from this past season. Our Club and Membership continues to grow exponentially. With that continued growth, we plan to expand even further on our Membership programming in 2023. Our Membership should be extremely excited for more opportunities to utilize the Club both on the golf course and through our social calendar. .I have been working fairly diligently with The RitzCarlton F&B team to expand upon our Members' Grill menu for this fall. Our plan is to refine our lunch menu, implement a new dinner menu with appetizers/happy hour items with dinner hours of operation, and add more Member dining events/programming. I want to thank you all for your support and patience as we work through continuing to elevate the Membership experience in our Members' Grill.

Jake, Anthony, Cody, and I are developing some new procedural standards to be utilized by our outside service staff to further enhance the membership daily experience. We have some exciting new ideas to continue to improve your Membership experience. As always if you have any suggestions, questions, or want to chat, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thanks for your continued support and for being a Member of our great Club.

GOLF AT THE GOLF CLUB AT DOVE MOUNTAIN GOLF UPDATE Jake Hermes

With summer upon us and our event calendar wrapped up for the year, there is not a whole lot to talk about with regards to golf here at Dove Mountain. However, this time of year does afford our Members the opportunity to play other fantastic private clubs in the Tucson area that perhaps you have not played in the past. Below I will highlight a few of the private courses here in Tucson in which our membership* has reciprocity with, as well as, a few other awesome options that are no more than an 8-hour drive away! Oro Valley CC: $50-$60 Located just off of Oracle Rd. in Oro Valley and sitting under the Catalina Mountains, this is a fantastic little tree lined course with an old-school feel to it. From the second you step onto the property you feel thrust back in time a bit, with the older homes lining the fairways and the driving range, putting green and Golf Shop all within a stone’s throw from each other. This is a great test of your iron game, as the greens are very small and also a fun course to play in the summer because of all the shade the trees provide. It also has perhaps the best finishing hole in Tucson!

Having grown up on this course and with my parents still residing off of the 6th green, it has a special place in my heart. And trust me, it will with you as well. In addition to the golf course, Durango is a great place to visit for a long weekend and offers other golf in the area with The Glacier Club and Pinon Hills (Farmington, NM) just 45 minutes away. Call me to book! As the summer continues to heat up here in Tucson, please make it a point to get out and play some of the other great golf courses we have in the area and also take some short trips to experience the amazing golf options that we have here in the Southwest!

Thank you, Jake Hermes Director of Golf The Golf Club at Dove Mountain jhermes@gcdovemtn.com 520.572.3513

Tucson Country Club: $50 Located off of Tanque Verde Rd. on the east side of town, the 30-40 minute drive is well worth it! Tucson Country Club again gives you a very old-school feel as this course features huge trees and reminds you of a course in the Midwest, with it’s back and forth fairways. A great course to walk as the terrain is very flat and greens and tees are in close proximity. A true championship course, as it has hosted 18 USGA qualifying tournaments. This is a great test of your game and is a Tucson staple in the golf community. Dalton Ranch Golf Club (Durango, CO): $99 Just 8-hours north of Tucson are the beautiful mountain town of Durango, CO. If you have not heard of it then you have not been a Member here long, or you have never spoken to me or Keenan. Durango sits in the San Juan Mountains and Dalton Range sits just a few miles north of town in a gorgeous little valley alongside the Animas River. This is an amazing course to play, with great views of the river and also the red cliffs of the valley (cont.) *this reciprocity offer is valid for Icon63 Members and Members of The Golf Club at Dove Mountain only.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Our Member Spotlight this month is on Kristin and Erik Brandstaetter! Originally from the suburbs of Milwaukee, Kristin and Erik met through a mutual friend in 2008 and are celebrating their 13th year of marriage this August! Together they have two sons, Willbur (9) and John (7). Their family is complete with a 110 lb. Newfoundland puppy named Griswold. A fun fact about the boys is that they have already been to all four golf Majors (The Masters, PGA Championship, U.S Open, and The Open Championship) before they were five and three years old. The Brandstaetters joined the Club shortly after moving to Marana in 2018 when Caterpillar Inc. started their mining headquarters in Tucson, where Erik still works as a Business Development Manager. Kristin works as an employee for the local Marana School District where she substitute teaches. Besides being avid golfers, they are both involved with volunteering at St. Mark Oro Valley and for their HOA in Dove Mountain. As a family, they love to hike and travel across Arizona, the U.S. and abroad! We are so happy to have the Brandstaetter family in the Club.

Join us for Dive-in Move Nights this summer!
