We’ve had a wonderful season so far despite the colder weather, and we’ve got an incredible calendar of events planned for this season and beyond. We are also delighted to announce that we are updating a few key areas of the Club, some of which began last week. Here is the overall scope of the project:

Golf Course

· New driving range amenities

· Brush and sightline clearing throughout both North and South Courses

· Cart path repair on select holes

Main Clubhouse and Sports Club

· New paint throughout the Main Clubhouse

· Full refresh of both Mens and Ladies locker rooms in the Main Clubhouse including paint, flooring, lighting & fixtures

Contemporary patio furniture for both the Clubhouse patio and the Sports Club patio

New artificial turf on the dining patio for a fresh look year round

Dear Gallery Members,

I hope all of you have enjoyed the first half of the 2022/2023 golf season!! We certainly have dealt with cool temperatures and a lot of rain over the past couple months, but we know the good golfing weather is right around the corner Below is a list of our upcoming events,

We have received numerous suggestions from our male members that they would like the Club to establish a season long points race The Club is excited to announce the below information

Season Long Points Race

This year we are introducing a new Season Long Points Race to identify the players that support and perform the best in our Gallery Men’s golf events Players will accumulate points throughout the season by playing in our events At the end of the season our top point leaders will participate in a new season ending tournament to identify our Player of the Year

Points are accumulated as follows: 1 2

Each player is awarded 10 points for each event they play in Events eligible for points include the Fall Bash, Compadre, Match Play, Gallery Cup, Club Championship, Gunslinger and Spring Bash Up to an additional 10 points will be awarded to players finishing in the to 10 of each event First place finishers receive 10 points, second place 9 points, third place, 8 points, etc

The more you play the faster your points will accumulate Good luck to all!

AGRONOMY UPDATE

Dear Gallery Members,

During the month of February, expect to see a significant increase in activity with regards to the upcoming LIV Golf tournament. Hospitality tent structures and camera towers will be constructed in various locations throughout the South Course. Desert de-vegetation and site-line clearing efforts are nearly complete. One of the major items occurring during the month is the removal of the bermudagrass contamination from our bentgrass green surfaces. Contamination removal will focus primarily on those areas of the greens where pins are typically located to provide for a more consistent, puttable surface.

Perimeter edging of each hole is scheduled to commence to hopefully deliver a more clean and defined desert/grass interface, similar to the tees. Anticipate continued fertility efforts consisting of both granular applications and foliar applications throughout the month on both the North and South Courses Walk-path re-grading and repair is underway Once completed, walk-paths and tee edges will be capped with decomposed granite and compacted

Good Day Members,

We are off to a great start to 2023 at the Club. Although it has not been a great weather year yet, we are sure this Spring will have plenty of beautiful sunny golf days for you all to enjoy.

January is always when we have our Members Appreciation Week and this year was the best one yet. We want you all to know that we appreciate you everyday-however this week allows us to truly celebrate with you all through some fun events and activities. We hope you all enjoyed it this year and we look forward to doing it again next year.

The golf courses continue to be in fantastic shape, probably the best I have personally seen them in the past 7-8 years. We are delighted to provide the quality of golf course conditioning that we know you all deserve and we expect our conditions to continue to improve on the golf courses This is great news as we head into our busy Member Events season In February we have our Ladies Invitational (quickly becoming one of our most attended events), our Men’s & Women’s Club Championships, as well as our 1st ever Dove Men’s Ryder Cup We are looking forward to hosting our Men’s & Women’s Member-Guest events in March & April as well! The team is delighted to have Adam Hilsinger as our new manager at the Members Grill & Cayton’s dining areas Adam came to us at the beginning of the year and has drastically improved the Food & Beverage employee morale as well as immediately improving the entire restaurant team’s member engagement and member dining experience Adam will continue to work with us on improving our members dining experience and menu opportunities throughout the Spring

Remember, this Spring will be busy, but is always a great time to play golf - whether it is in Men’s Day, Ladies Day, one of our groups, 9 & Wine’s, or any of the other Member Events Finally, we hope you continue to enjoy our ½ price Member Guest Days on Wednesdays

Happy February! I always hope that this time of year gets us out of the frost delays and into the warm afternoons! It seems that Winter has a little bit to say about that, so we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we navigate the colder temps.

January is always a slow month as it pertains to member outings, however this January we did have some action!

During our Member Appreciation Week we hosted numerous events and were so excited by the participation. One of those events was our Putting Contest and Long Putt Challenge. During this event we had members who participated in a 100 foot putt for the chance to win a $1,000 credit! Amazingly we had two members who were able to make the putt and celebrate with our members and staff! Our two winners were John Emory who made the putt on his first attempt (2 max) and also finished tied for first in our putt-putt competition The second player to make the putt was non other than our 8 year old putting extraordinaire John Brandstaetter! John dropped the putt from 100 feet and is quoted as saying “I just tried to hit a good putt” and “Wow, that was a great putt”!!! The response from the crowd and from John and his family was heart warming and made for an incredible afternoon Please see the videos here to watch the moments for yourself

The Golf Club at Dove Mountain

On Saturday, January 28th a reception was held at The Gallery to learn about the supportive connection between The Gallery Golf Club at The First Tee Tucson, a youth development organization that teaches life skills through the game of golf. Last year, Members raised funds to purchase a van for First Tee through the "Drive for a Van" charity campaign The goal was originally $30,000, but our wonderful Members surpassed that goal and raised $51,250!

On the Saturday the van finally made its debut! The van is used during the numerous equipment pick up days (like the very successful one held at The Gallery last year) The van is also used to carry tournament support materials for them as they compete at venues throughout the Greater Tucson Area (including, again, at The Gallery).

The Gallery looks forward to hosting the Jim Trapp Memorial Charity Challenge Benefitting First Tee - Tucson on Wednesday, March 22nd 2023 (1:00pm shotgun) Sign up is now open on ForeTees or by calling the Golf Shop today!

John Wooters Steps:

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened

1-1/4 cups sugar

1/8 teaspoon pink paste food coloring

3 large eggs, room temperature

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup buttermilk

White chocolate ganache:

2 cups white baking chips

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon butter

pink coarse sugar or sugar pearls

1.In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar and food coloring until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition.

2 Fill 24 paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full at 350° until a toothpick inserted in the center co out clean, 23-27 minutes Cool for 10 minutes be removing from pans to wire racks to cool comple

3 Meanwhile, place white chips in a small bowl In small saucepan, bring cream just to a boil Pour o chips; whisk until smooth Stir in butter Transfer large bowl. Chill for 30 minutes, stirring once.

4 Beat on high speed until soft peaks form and frosting is light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes Frost cupcakes Top cupcakes with coarse sugar and sugar pearls Store in the refrigerator.

FITNESS & WELLNESS UPDATE

February is Heart Healthy Month and we have so much to offer at the Sports Club to keep you happy and healthy!

We are delighted to feature fitness expert, Shannon Peterson, founder of Live Your Truth Women Fitness Coaching and ACHIEVE Personal Training & Multisport Coaching for a 1 hour informative and interactive workshop highlighting the 3 most important factors to life-long health & happiness. Join us at the Sports Club at 5pm Monday, February 27th (will be held in the studio at the Sports Club)

StretchLab will be out again at the Sports Club teaching complimentary Post Golf Group Stretch workshops Wednesday, February 15th at 3pm. A fun interactive group class that will focus on stretching the golf muscles that provide flexibility and range of motion which translates to more power and consistency in the golf swing!

Michelle is back and will be teaching couples how to give your significant other a massage! Monday, February 13th This is an hour an a half private session with our very own Michelle Norush! I’ve had several questions regarding special orders and shipping charges – anything that is special ordered will have a shipping charge associated with the item/items This is a fee charged to us directly from the vendors so unfortunately, I cannot avoid including it with the price of your items I appreciate your understanding and support with special orders!
