Hello Black Hawk Country Club Members! I am excited to be joining your exceptional staff as the new General Manager. I will be working closely with Greg and Mike during the transition into my new role, to provide a seamless transition. I look forward to leading your staff and assist them in any way so they can deliver remarkable experiences during your time at Black Hawk Country Club.

We want to thank all the families that joined us for Mother’s Day Brunch! Chef Ben and his staff did an excellent job the entire event!

June has arrived! June is an exciting month for many reasons First and foremost, we should consistently be at the magic 150 number for Agronomy Translation, the grass is officially growing and it's game on

The second half of April and first half of May set us back on some of the programs and commitments made Our greens sod, and spot sod work were delayed due to some very unfriendly weather However, we pushed through and can now continue addressing some of the other areas in need of some sod work. Although originally delayed, we did manage to get out our initial summer pre-emerge and fertilizer application Throughout the month and the rest of the growing season we will continue our tee and fairway nutritional sprays with our PGR products every three weeks

Our first core aerification of the year is scheduled to start June 20th During this time, we will be core aerifying greens, tees, and fairways. I understand this isn’t a popular practice but is vital to the overall health of the turf. Projects should be in full swing. There are several projects scheduled to start in June such as the renovation of the bridge on hole #12. The installation of a new bulkhead on hole #14. The installation of the Sox lake bank erosion control system on hole #17. Other projects hopefully completed by June but may have carried over are bridge renovations to the two walk bridges along the entrance road and to the small bridge at #16 tees, landscape enhancements to the pool area, and the installation of new flag poles and the renovation of the circular island at the entrance to the clubhouse.

So, I’ll end as I began in this message, June is an exciting month for many reasons, and it is a true privilege to be a part of the Escalante Golf and Black Hawk Country Club family. On behalf of myself and our Agronomy team, we thank you for your patience and continued support.

Welcome to June as we kick off a star-studded month

Our match play event will take place on June 2-4 and will feature cocktails, on course food, lunches, wooden fence spots, and prizes Make sure to mark the dates on your calendar as you aren’t going to want to miss our third major of the year. Registration available on the member portal page through golf genius

The Classic Chevy Tradition Championship will take place at Black Hawk Country Club on June 12th & 13th featuring some of the best golf pros in the section competing in the third major of the year Our very own Trent Peddy will represent Black Hawk Country Club in the event and Justin Engel will represent Shadow Hawk Golf Club in the event as they compete for the title as the race for the Joe Black Cup heats up Member play will be available after the morning tee times both days of the event

June marks our first aerification of the year and will take place on June 20th – June 22nd We will re-open for play on June 23rd

We are so excited to have the Oasis Bar and Grill open, at the Pool! I hope our pool is your summer staycation destination We have planned some fun events at the pool this summer, starting with the Watermelon Summer Splash on June 24th

Did you know that June is National Iced Tea Month? Come cool off with a glass of iced tea in the clubhouse, we will have some ready to go at the coffee station We will also feature John Daly’s with Deep Eddy’s Sweet Tea Vodka all month long

Thank you to everyone who attended our Mother’s Day Brunch, but we have not forgotten about Dad! We look forward to hosting our first annual Father’s Day Backyard Cookout We hope to see you there!
