June kicks off with the Women’s Mixing Bowl followed by The Club Championships (for Men and Women), the Women’s Invitational and the Men’s Invitational. Please contact the Golf Shop to register or ask any questions. LIV Tour update: Complimentary tickets will be available for our Members (two per membership/per day). We will also have a hospitality area for you with hosted food and beverage. Additional tickets will also be available at a member discount rate. GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE Michael Galvin Cultural Practices Following all the work that was completed last year on the Oaks, we are implementing our cultural practices to improve the firmness and health of the turf. We completed our core aerification on fairways in May. Core aerification will help the root structure in our compacted areas. We will also introduce an aggressive verticutting and topdressing program on all of The Oaks fairways. Verticutting is an extremely effective process of removing thatch and promoting more upright turf. This will be the first time The Oaks fairways have received a verticutting in a very long time. We are planning to use 800 tons of sand to complete this process. All of these steps will help make the playing surfaces that much better throughout the year with minimal disruption.

Pre-Shot Routine To assist in making solid contact, your best ball strikers employ a consistent pre-shot routine which is decisive, repetitive, and lasts between 15-20 seconds. The key is to take three looks or less at your intended target. After taking your last look at the target you will want to pause for only a second or two before making your swing.

When warming up or practicing on the range, work on this method on every third or fourth shot. More repetitions will allow you to develop a decisive and consistent pre-shot routine.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT- THE PETERSON FAMILY (JEFF, EMILY, ANDREW AND OLIVIA PETERSON)
Occupation – Jeff is a Program Manager at Fidelity and Emily is a Chemical Engineer at MilliporesSigma Why they joined The International – Previous members who were unsure about joining, but after they truly understood the vision of the club and having other friends rejoin, they rejoined as well – and they never looked back. The golf experience is simply unmatched. Fun Fact – Jeff was Emily’s RA in college (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) and he busted her for playing hall sports. Members like the Peterson family are what makes The International such a wonderful place.

Spring weather has finally arrived and with warmer temperatures we are excited with the new Spring lines from Peter Millar, Greyson, and Stitch for both men and women. Visiting the golf shop, you will see the bright new colors of the 2022 season. This year we have made an effort for you to be comfortable for anytime of the day whether on the golf course or after golf enjoying a beverage with dinner on the veranda in light layering garments for those cool spring evenings.

The Men’s Member-Guest will be competed on June 23rd thru 25th. This is a perfect time to see the newest arrivals and choose what outfits will make you look great on the course and during the cocktail parties for you and your guests.
