Today when our esteemed Members walk between the tee box and the green at #17 on the River Course, they are stepping on the very same land where the Jamestown settlers from England stepped off their boats in 1607 Those same very first settlers would soon sail upriver to start what eventually became the United States of America The old pilings in the river are the location of that original port and the actual beginning of the road from the James River to Williamsburg, our amazing colonial town that is still thriving 415 years later. September is a very busy golf month for us kicking off with Labor Day weekend, and hosting our Ladies Club Championships, Men’s Club Championships, and Men’s Three Day Invitational through the month. I sincerely hope you will participate in the events, and enjoy the camaraderie and spirit of competition. The Golf Agronomy team has done a fabulous job preparing our courses the past 60 days during staffing transition and high heat get out and enjoy them!
We would like to send a large THANK YOU to Janice West, who has been our interim Spa Manager the last few weeks On top of her Human Resources responsibilities, Janice is helping us lead the day to day operations at the Spa, and is helping our team identify Spa Coordinators and a new Manager The transition that Janice has led the past two weeks has been seamless We are looking forward to getting new energy, ideas, and services available at the Spa shortly! We are committed to keeping our posted Spa hours, Tuesday through Sunday, 9 AM 5PM for the foreseeable future We have currently interviewed nine candidates for the Director of Racquet Sports position, and are working with the Kingsmill Tennis Association this week to schedule second round interviews Our goal is to place the best individual in that position who can continue to elevate Kingsmill Tennis and our programming offerings, and we will take the necessary time to make sure we correctly identify that individual.
I am excited for the impact Charlie Petronella has already made in the Sports Club. Charlie’s friendliness, attention to detail, and leadership will be noticed the second you walk in the door!
In the meantime, our Agronomy team will help with daily court maintenance to keep the courts in shape as we look to find a full time technician We also have posted Tennis Shop positions, and are currently screening candidates to come on board We are committed to keeping our posted Tennis Shop hours, Monday through Sunday, 9 AM 6 PM through Labor Day, with a re evaluation of shop hours after the holiday weekend.

If you find yourself in the fairway, and your ball has stopped in standing water, mark your ball with a tee Find the nearest point from that spot that does not have standing water, no closer to the hole, and mark with another tee Pick up your golf ball (you may clean it), measure one (1) club length from the nearest point of relief (no closer to the hole) and mark with a tee Within this club length measure, drop your golf ball from knee height and play your shot for taking the time to read and we hope to see you out on the

Eagles has added more staff and is able to keep the lounge area open after 8 p.m. for Members and Resort guests with a light pub menu.
Moving forward, the Eagles menu will slowly increase its offerings and continue to be the spot to get a full dinner experience.
James Landing Grille (JLG) has also added staff to the Culinary team and has really become a very well organized team with a very good skill set. We have added and removed various items from the menu and are very focused on continuing to do weekly menu updates.
The JLG will be the place to go and get the WOW effect while enjoying an amazing beverage with the best view anywhere. I will update you on more changes next month, until then here are some images of menu items we will be rolling out soon. I hope you enjoy them, and I look forward to getting to know each of you!

It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over, and that soon we will be moving into the fall with colder temperatures and new seasonal ingredients It has been a very busy few months here in the culinary world with a lot of new staff, menu additions, and overall operational changes. All very positive and the team is extremely excited. I will share a few of these changes with you.
