Dear Black Diamond Members:

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for being so supportive, kind, and patient as we commence the search for a new General Manager. We have a wonderful membership, blessed with people who are truly passionate about Black Diamond Ranch I am enjoying every minute of my “dual” roles and I have never forgotten my number one mission when I arrived at here over two years ago – “Take Care of the Members ”

I am very proud to be part of such a great club and look forward to this summer as we begin a wonderful new chapter at Black Diamond! The Ranch and Diamond Dunes renovation projects are underway and on schedule. Both courses are slated to open (weather-permitting) in early December. The entire Black Diamond Staff is here for YOU, and if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me and it will be my pleasure to assist you!

As we enter May, we would like to update our membership on the fantastic things our membership accomplished since the start of the year We added 21 amazing new members and we look forward to our existing membership welcoming them to Black Diamond Ranch We would also like to thank all members for referring their friends and associates and encourage you all to continue to do so! Starting May 1 - Dec 31, in addition to being added to C for referring a new member, you will also receive:

$250 Club Credit for every new Club Membership

Save The Date for the Club 87 Championship and Gran Drawings Event- Saturday January 18th, 2025 If you referred a member this year, you are automatically ente Club 87 for a chance to win a number of trips and prizes We would like to see EVERY MEMBER in Club 87!

I have been receiving many calls from people exploring a move to citrus county to escape the south Florida taxes, traffic, and congestion Many prospective members would like to rent before making the commitment If you have a home available for rent, please send me your information so that I may connect you with a potential renter

Lastly, if you happen to see me on a Membership Tour with prospective members, don’t be shy, we love it when you smile and say hi!

Course Updates

Temperatures are rising! Yay! As the season is coming to a close, we are gearing up for summer annual maintenance practices The Quarry and Highlands RonStar applications have been completed and went well Herbicide treatments on non-overseeded areas are due for a second application and are performing as well as we can expect We will be starting to verticut and topdress the Quarry and Highlands greens in the last week of April These will be minor mechanical practices that should not affect play at all I will get with Dave McQuade on our schedules for these practices

Diamond Dunes update - As stated in the last newsletter, the property will be grassed with Tif Eagle on greens and Tif Tuft Bermuda everywhere else These greens cavities will be filled in the next few weeks The grassing will be scheduled to coincide with the grassing of the Ranch Course.

Ranch Project

The Ranch Course officially closed on April 9 and GCI Golf Sculptors have been extremely busy All greens have been cored out and will be refilled with new greens mix in the next couple of weeks The architect for this project, Trip Davis, has numerous visits scheduled over the next few weeks to do the final grading and shaping of the greens before planting

Tees have been layered with a product called Command Command is an organic material that will be rototilled into the tee’s existing soils This will help improve these soils with nutrient and moisture holding capabilities All other areas of the golf course have been sprayed and will be prepped for grassing over the next couple of weeks.

Other Updates

At this time we have no other scheduled closings until our summer schedule begins in June Please view Black Diamond’s website to view the summer maintenance schedule

Things begin to slow down here at Black Diamond Ranch in May, but we remain busy with the planning and programming of all the Member Golf Events through 2025 In an effort to help you better plan your year I have them all listed here I want to thank everyone for their support and patience as we strive to make your entire Black Diamond experience “Second to None.” Contact me at any time if you have any questions, concerns, or comments I am very proud to be part of Black Diamond’s success now and in the future!
