John Kawasoe

Happy November It’s hard to believe that Fall is in the air.The golf courses are still in fantastic shape If you haven’t had a chance to play, you should try and get out.

We have a couple of Golf Events coming up. November 19th we have the Turkey Trot Sign up on Golf Genius or call the Golf Shop. December 17th we will have the Jingle Ball tournament Sign ups for this event will go out right after Thanksgiving

The Ghost Creek and Witch Hollow Golf Shops are great places to pick up Holiday gifts for the golfers in your family Winter Shop hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Those of you who would like to keep your game sharp through the winter months should listen up. Your practice sessions need to be brief but frequent Meaning its more beneficial to practice more days of the week for short periods of time then to try and have once in awhile cram sessions. You can get a lot of work done in 15 or 20 minutes several days a week For more information contact John Kawasoe at the Witch Hollow Golf Shop

From all of the Golf Staff we wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

We hope all your shots are long and true. See you on the links, John Kawasoe

I have enclosed my favorite turkey brine for you to try over the holidays

Ingredients

3 c apple juice or apple cider 2 c Hendrix gin 2 gallons cold water

4 tbsp fresh rosemary leaves 5 cloves garlic, minced 1 1/2 c kosher salt 2 c brown sugar 3 tbsp peppercorns 5 whole bay leaves Peel of three large oranges Directions 1 2. 3. 4

Combine all the ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil, stirring until the salt and sugar dissolve. Turn off heat, cover and allow the brine to cool completely.

Place the uncooked turkey in a large brining bag or pot, pour in the brine solution to cover the turkey, and refrigerate for 16 to 24 hours. Before roasting, remove the turkey from the brine (discard the brine) and submerge the turkey in a pot or sink filled with fresh, cold water for 15 minutes This removes excess salt from the outside

Remove the turkey from the water, pat dry, and cook according to your normal roasting method

GET TO KNOW YOUR CHEF

Hello! To those I have not meet personally My name is Chef Eric I am your Chef here at Pumpkin Ridge I would like to share a little bit about myself I consider myself as an unorthodox Chef By this, I mean the way

I create Menu’s and pairings do not follow the traditional Guidelines you find in most restaurants I base my idea’s and recipes on flavors and tend lean toward the new and flavorful. Sometimes I pair things that most people would say shouldn’t go together. I like to push the culinary envelope. With this being said I would like to invite you to try new and exciting experiences. I am always available to discuss this with you. I am looking forward to meeting all of you!

FOOD&BEVERAGE

PRO SHOP - GHOST CREEK GOLF RULES & TIPS

Fall has arrived and the course conditions at Ghost Creek are prime time! Come out and enjoy the course after we did our fall maintenance & aeration in early October!

If you have any interest in junior clinics or individual lessons, please reach out to myself or Matthew Brandt (sstewart@pumpkinridge.com / mbrandt@pumpkinridge com)

PRO TIP: 3 keys to hitting solid bunker shots:

Have a nice wide base in your setup stance Make sure you setup with the handle of the club lower than usual ROCK THE BABY Meaning when you take the club head back you want to feel like the baby's head is facing you and when you swing through the ball you want the baby's head to be facing you again ... Smooth rhythm and tempo ... DONT WAKE THE BABY UP!
