WELCOME GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE Dear Members, Welcome back! The staff and I are excited to have the membership back and start enjoying the Club. The course maintenance program this summer went well, and I congratulate our Director of Agronomy Jim Wallace and his team for all the demanding work that went into the course over the last 3 weeks in July. Those efforts will pay dividends for course conditions as we head into the fall golf season. We have an exciting schedule of golf tournaments and social events planned for September so please keep an eye out for that information. For August, we have another Member Appreciation Day planned for you all. Please plan to be in attendance for our Tex-Mex BBQ lunch with complimentary beer and wine for you. This will be stationed on the bricks by the Golf Shop, so you will be able to grab a plate and eat in Jones Bar.

Welcome back Shadow Hawk Members, I trust that you’ve all enjoyed your summer and time away. We are happy to have you back enjoying the golf course and look forward to hearing your comments on the improvements. The Agronomy Department made very good use of our time and the course has responded well to all of our cultural practices. This will help us achieve high quality playing conditions not only in the near-term, but also throughout the Fall and Winter months. I am very proud of this crew and grateful for the opportunity to lead them through these necessary processes for a premier golf course. I appreciate your patience above all. GOLF GOLF UPDATE Justin Engel
NEW CART FLEET Our new Club Car golf cart fleet is scheduled to arrive in mid August. There were some delays in computer chips resulting in not being able receiving the new fleet during the closure. The new fleet will feature state of the art lithium ion batteries. Some of the benefits of these batteries vs. acid batteries are as follows: no maintenance required to maintain the batteries, 36 holes on a single charge, charging time to full capacity drastically reduced to 4 hours from 10 hours with the previous fleet. The new fleet will also feature Visage GPS units. The units will provide yardages to the flag as well as any other information a player may be looking for. These are the most advanced golf carts on the market and we look forward to receiving them this month.
HAWK CUP Our annual member-member match play event is set to begin on Friday, September 16th at 1:00pm. Second and third round matches will be played on Saturday, September 17th. Second round matches will begin at 7:30am followed by third round matches beginning at 12:30pm. The finals will be contested on Sunday morning beginning at 8:00am. The format is a four ball competition and is dotted off of the low index in the group. The tournament is a single elimination event. A players lunch will be provided on Friday and Saturday as well as breakfast each morning. The cost is $150 per player and space for the event is limited to the first 16 teams. Please note, that we will only be accepting a full two person team at the time of registration. Registration will open on August 15th at 8:00am and will only be accepted via email to: Allan Mcdermott at amcdermott@shadowhawkgolfclub.com

We are preparing for a festive fall season! Coming out of Aerification, we are hosting another Member Appreciation Day on August 6th. There will be an all inclusive TexMex BBQ and complimentary beer and wine to show our gratitude. Looking forward, we will be transforming the patio into a Biergarten for Oktoberfest Night on September 30th. Steins filled with German Beer, German food, and a Live Band to top off the evening! We hope to see you all there. In honor of Halloween, we will be hosting Shadow Hawk's First Annual Masquerade Ball. The theme is Roaring Twenties, so please dress accordingly with your masque! Prepare to have a roaring time!

With Summer coming to an abrupt end, I can honestly say this summer was one to remember. Not only because of the record high temperatures, but because of all the awesome kids who took part in all the Club's Summer offerings. It has been a pleasure to meet and teach every one of your children, and see them continue to our Monday & Wednesday Kids Activities after Tennis Camp. If you have not had the chance to sign up, I am offering one last Tennis Camp August 1st-4th. To have an eventful end to Kids Activities, the last activity will be the beloved "In It to Win It Game Show". WELLNESS PICKLEBALL UPDATE We certainly hope everyone has been enjoying and learning a lot from Dr. Maxey's Pickleball Drills! New sessions begin on the first Thursday of every month. Newcomers to the game of Pickleball are always welcome and encouraged. Coming in September will be more social events for the pickleball players!
