I want to take a moment and recognize employee Bryan Gil in our outside golf staff as the employee of the month for October Bryan is outgoing, friendly, and always willing to pitch in and assist his fellow employees and members Please join me and congratulate Bryan and thank him for a job well done!

Finally, I want to thank Justin Engel and our Golf Staff, Alex Kelley and the F&B Staff and Jim Wallace and Golf Course Maintenance staff for executing a successful Men’s Member Guest. We have received positive feedback from the members that participated in this event. We hoped it made you proud of your Club!

Greetings Golfers, Happy November! Can you believe we made it through the summer and fall already? We put in a lot of work this growing season and it was a great deal of fun We have one more Club event, the Wooden Fence, before we get to the holiday season I want to thank all of you for your patience and support We’ve had a lot of projects and moving parts to enhance the overall golf experience. We’ve made a lot of improvements, but we are not resting. There will always be room for improvement, and our goal is to make it better every day I hope to see you on the course,

UPCOMING GOLF EVENTS

Men’s Club Championship

We would like to congratulate Olin Olson on winning the 2022 Men’s Club Championship. Mr. Olson defeated Buzz Baker in 19 holes. This is Mr. Olson’s first time winning the event. We would also like to congratulate our other flight winners. Joe Kilgore was the winner of the first flight and Mark Clark was the winner of the second flight. Thank you to all of those who participated and please congratulate our winners when you see them at the club!

The Hawk Men’s Member Guest

Our annual Men’s Member Guest ended on Saturday October 22nd with the team of Hank Hamilton and Mike Childers winning the four hole aggregate shootout! The shootout came down to the final putt with the team of Murray Neal and Jason Pierson narrowly missing a 12 foot eagle putt on 18 to force a playoff Mr Pierson hit a fairway wood from 220 yards to set there team up for eagle in the alternate shot format Mr Hamilton was able to make a 6 foot putt to secure the victory! It was a week filled with great golf, excellent food, and superb fellowship amongst the 92 player field Mr Hamilton recorded a hole in one on number four in the first round to very difficult back hole location We want to thank all of the members and guests who participated in the event, and we hope that you all had as much fun as we did running the event!

Wooden Fence

This year marks the return of the Ladies Wooden Fence! The event will be held on Tuesday November 8th at Shadow Hawk Golf Club and Wednesday November 9th at Black Hawk Country Club Our Men’s Wooden Fence team was finalized at the conclusion of the club championship We had 24 members qualify for the team after playing in four qualifying events for the year

The Men’s Wooden Fence will be held at Shadow Hawk on Friday November 18th at 1:00pm. Singles matches will be contested at Black Hawk Country Club on Saturday morning November 19th. We would like to encourage our members to come out and support both teams!
