KLGA-9 UPDATE
Congratulations go out to our winners of the spring KLGA/9 tournaments. For the game “ABCD-1,2,3,” First Place went to the team of Faith Shartzer, Joann Kansier, and Sheila Filipponi, and Second Place to the team of Sue Goodale, Mary Wilkins and Marjy Starling. For the “Individual Low Gross/Low Net Tournament,” our winners were Faith Shartzer (Low Gross) and Debby Quinn (Low Net) for Flight 1, and Susan Howard (Low Gross) and Maureen Moore (Low Net) for Flight 2. Our “Two Mulligans Tournament” winners were Faith Shartzer (Flight 1), Martha Stathis (Flight 2) and Carol Ball (Flight 3).
Our first big highlight for the season was our Member/Member 1 Tournament with a Cinco de Mayo theme and luncheon that followed. Flight 1 winners were team Amy Larson/Susan Howard (Low Gross) and team Debby Quinn/Maureen Moore (Low Net). Flight 2 team winners were Sherry Cowley/Farley Clark (Low Gross) and Susan Keister/Colleen Tondorf (Low Net). Sherry Cowley also won the Closest to the Hole, Faith Shartzer had the Straightest Drive, and the Longest Drive went to June Wendell.
May continued with Team Low Net Best Ball. Our First Place Team was Jean Infantino, Maureen Moore, and Marjy Starling, and in Second Place was Team Janet Parker, Suzanne Brown, and Molly Strup. Winners for the Individual Low Net/Low Gross Tournament: Gold Flight: Faith Shartzer (Low Net) and Maria Kendle (Low Gross) and for the Gold/Green Flight: Molly Strup (Low Net) and Suzanne Brown (Low Gross).
Finishing up the month, the KLGA/9 welcomed the Par Tee Girls from the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club for their first Home and Away of the season. First Place went to the team of June Wendell, Judy Morris, Betty Delk, and Lisa Lowery; Second Place went to the team of Debby Quinn, Maureen Moore, Mari-An Fitzmaurice, and Kathy Blevins; and Third Place was the team of Tammy Haurand, Diane Burgraff, Totty Shelly, and Michele Calhoun. Kathy Blevins also won the Closest to the Pin and Mari-An Fitzmaurice won the Longest Drive.
