T
he first thing that comes to mind when you hear Ghala might be pollution, noise, and utter hideosity. Well, this mental image isn’t entirely true, and it isn’t totally false either. Ghala does include within its boarders a popular industrial estate with hundreds of trucks and pick-ups parked on the sides of thin roads or infront of factories and warehouses. But recently the ‘hood has been gaining on nearby Bousher with a growing number of well-designed commercial and residential areas that are downright appealing. The area of Ghala is located between Azaiba and
Al Ansab in the enormous landmass of Bousher, which extends all the way to expressway and beyond. That "beyond" is where new residential areas are popping up, about 17 to 20 kilometres from Muscat International Airport. Ghala’s ongoing transformation has made the area resident-friendly with new housing developments and serviced apartments being offered at affordable rent prices in an area that is at a strategic intersection of some of the busiest business districts in the city — 15 minutes from Al Khuwair and Ghubra, and a mere 25 minutes from Seeb or Ruwi, thanks to the Expressway.
Life in Ghala has a distinct vibe, despite the industrial noises, residents are surrounded by places of interest like the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque; the famous Church compound; Ghala Wentworth Golf Club; Lulu Hypermarket; Panorama Mall; Muscat Hills; and Al Nahda Towers, where 360 Degrees Restaurant is located. Other amenities such as banks, clinics, and fast food joints are in ample supply. Ghala is super close to the Muscat International Airport, which makes it a great, affordable, convenient place for frequent travellers. Highway and Expressway access makes for super fast commutes here in town.
Located between two of the most sought-after residential areas in the capital, Bousher and Seeb, this up-and-coming area is poised to become a residential hot spot.
Given its location, Ghala is a good area that comes with an even better price tag. The apartments are priced quite low in comparison to other nearby neighbourhoods in Bousher, with rents starting around OMR300.
Everything you could need is five minutes away, from major shopping centres such as Oman Avenues Mall and Muscat Grand Mall, to garages and car service centres, to grocery stores, to police stations.
Ghala was an industrial zone with tons of warehouses and lorries, but the factories are moving out and more residential apartments are being built, making this a great time to find fantastic deals before everyone else discovers this gem.

Every seaside town has its own special charms, none more so than sleepy Qantab. Qantab is small, secluded village situated on the outskirts of Muscat. Life in Qantab is like something from another time, while being a conveniently located close to town. Qantab is a place blessed with harmony and tranquillity
as well as recreational draws like surfing, ocean swimming, and other watersports. Close to schools, clinics, sport clubs, fishing clubs, coffee shops, traditional restaurants, and close to all the amenities of neighbouring resorts, is no wonder that the rents tend to be on the high-side (though still quite affordable) for such a remote area.
