In Oman, The Environment Society of Oman (ESO) joined the Earth Hour by organising games and activities for children to learn about their environment and energy saving. Several other buildings, firms and hotels in Oman joined the global cause to conserve energy by switching off lights.

reji@timesofoman.com MUSCAT: As Saudi Arabia-led warplanes continue pounding Houthi rebels in Yemen for the third night turning Sanaa, the capital city, into a ghost town, both Yemenis and foreigners told the Times of Oman that they are looking for an option to flee to a safe haven. “We were working in a hospital in Sanaa near the airport. For the last two days, we have been hearing only bomb blasts and gunshots. Our hospital has been damaged and we have now fled to a place quite far from there. I am now staying with a friend,” Shibin Daniel
