Jurassic World Dominion is one of the month’s hottest releases, with many families with dinosaur-loving kids ready to experience the thrill of seeing these extinct creatures come to life once again on the screen. Marisa Cutillas brings you this and more must-view films in June.

Four years after the destruction of the island of the dinosaurs by a volcano in eruption, the reptiles are now free, and they live and hunt alongside human beings. The world is forced to adapt to the ‘ecological disaster’ that began when a group of scientists decided to give life to a once-extinct species. This time, humankind is just another species that is in danger of extinction.

Many films have been made about ‘The King’ but this time, the focus is on the complicated relationship that Elvis had with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Elvis and Parker worked together for two decades (from 1955 to 1977, the year of Elvis’ death). Parker aimed to take Elvis’ status beyond that of ‘teen sensation’. He was responsible for enrolling him in the army, overseeing his Hollywood film deals, and shaping his Las Vegas comeback. He benefitted greatly from Elvis’ talent, making a 50 per cent commission on some deals.

Buzz Lightyear has always been one of the most attention-catching characters in Toy Story. Finally, the spotlight will be shining on him in this adventurous new film. Lightyear gets into a rocket ship with the aim of spending just four minutes in space. Instead, he is stranded in a strange, hostile land for almost 63 years. After being rescued, he is called upon to lead an inexperienced crew on an important mission: that of destroying an alien ship.

Spiderhead is set in the near future, when convicts are offered the chance to volunteer as medical subjects in the hope of shortening their sentence.
