La Zambra Hotel
BRINGS THE HYATT’S GOLDEN TOUCH TO THE COAST
The tourism industry is back in full swing, with the Government of Spain recently announcing that in the first three months of 2022, tourist numbers increased by approximately 697 per cent, reaching a total of almost 9.7 million. It is gratifying, indeed, to see launches of luxury establishments like the new La Zambra Hotel in Mijas Golf, which belongs to Hyatt’s The Unbound Collection – a thoughtful curation of hotels with a story to tell. Additional hotels belonging to this exclusive collection are the Hôtel du Louvre in Paris, the Parisi Udvar Hotel in Budapest, and the Carmel Valley Ranch in the heart of California’s wine country. GLAMOUR IN 'BYBLICAL' PROPORTIONS
The hotel is close to practically all the Coast’s top spots. It is a 20-minute drive from Málaga airport, 13 minutes away from Fuengirola, and less than half an hour from Marbella. It brings new life to the Hotel Byblos, a veritable symbol of hedonism in the 1980s and 1990s. La Zambra is managed by Marugal – a company that specialises in the development, launch, and commercialisation of unique hotels.
ROOM TO RELAX
The hotel boasts 197 rooms of various categories (Double, Standard, Deluxe Golf View, Deluxe Garden View, Junior Suite, Standard Suite and Premium Suite). It also has a 125m2 Grand Suite, perfect for lovers of space and comfort. All rooms have a terrace and views over the mountains and golf fairways.
The rooms, which boast Andalusian flair, are luminous and decorated in subtle hues and natural materials. The effect of the design is one of contemporary comfort.
FUN-FILLED DAYS
Although La Zambra is close to shopping centres and gastronomic hubs, there are numerous reasons to spend a few days within the resort itself – including three pools, two tennis courts, and a paddle court.
The hotel is also home to a gym, a yoga and Pilates zone, and an impressive wellness centre with 10 treatment rooms and a water therapy area (featuring a Jacuzzi, sauna, and hammam). A talented team of therapists is on hand to give you a decontracting or a relaxing massage after you have spent a day out on the greens. The hotel also has a disco, an events area, and a Kids Club.
HONING YOUR GOLF SKILLS
The hotel offers guests the chance to play at two of the best golf courses in the area – Los Olivos and Los Lagos, designed by the great Robert Trent Jones Sr. Within a 15-minute radius, you will find an additional 12 courses of different levels, where you can take your game to the next level. ›
FEEDING BODY, MIND, AND SPIRT
What would a vacation be without great food? La Zambra has five different places to tempt your palate: Z Bamboleo pays homage to one of Spain’s most famous performers – Julio Iglesias. Inspired by the glamour of the 1990s, it serves coffee, cocktails, and snacks. It opens from 10am to 1am from Monday to Friday and from 10am to 3am on Friday and Saturday. Z Palmito serves a buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring Spanish, vegetarian, and international dishes. By night, it is transformed into a rotisserie, where you can tuck into juicy grilled delights. This space will also be dedicated to private events such as tastings of local wines and wines from Jerez. Z La Bartola serves Andalusian cuisine and seafood. Think of this as a chilled pool club where you can also sip on colourful cocktails. Z Picador is a quintessential Andalusian tavern with a contemporary edge. It specialises in Mediterranean tapas, as well as sophisticated lunches and dinners. Featuring a wide range of top wines and Champagnes. Z Sarao is the hotel’s disco. It is also an ideal setting for hosting weddings and events. ›
