Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. Their life is very short. After their beauty peaks around two weeks, the blossoms start to fall. During this season in Japan, people like to have cherry blossom parties with colleagues, friends, and family
The Japanese first used them to celebrate the festivals of the Chinese. But nowadays, they have formed part of Japanese culture and are still currently being used in festivals in Japan, and has formed a uniquely Japanese style, people often write on the lantern.
Origami is the most recreational art of the Japanese for centuries. They made it as a part of their culture to foster the creativity among youngsters. Origami is served as an elegant yet amusing activity of Japanese done during their leisure times
Manga is well-anchored in Japanese society. Every Japanese person reads, has read, or has seen at least a single manga. Whether through the actual comics, anime, or derivative products, the literary culture of manga permeates Japanese culture as a whole.
Ukiyo-e Prints Reflect the Popular Culture of Edo. Ukiyo-e prints are of great historical and cultural interest and importance, but ukiyo-e are also beautiful art objects. What is so thrilling about the field of ukiyo-e is that it covers many aspects of human life. The natural materials of early Japanese prints and books have a deep appeal.
Neon signs of Tokyo, Japan. Ever since the 1960s, neon signs arose across cities as a form of innovative advertisement that allowed Japanese business owners to appeal to a bigger audience. This act then expanded into a whole jungle of neon boards, creating a masterpiece shaped by abundantly diverse businesses.
Harajuku doesn't describe one particular style or way of looking, but the conglomeration of many different styles in one place. While it can refer to almost any fashion style, the subculture of Harajuku fashion styles focuses primarily on two concerns โ community and freedom of expression.
The major difference between hiragana and katakana is the fact that hiragana is primarily used to represent Japanese words, while katakana represents foreign words. Japanese is a language with many borrowed words, and katakana immediately alerts the reader to the fact that the word is an imported one.
There are two directions in Japanese written. In most cases, Japanese is written horizontally, left to right, top to bottom, just like English. Traditionally, however, Japanese is written vertically, top to bottom, then right to left.
โ vertical Japanese writing is called tategaki( ็ธฆๆธใ ), it is read from right to left and it is now used for novels or other kinds of โhumanistic writingsโ.
โ horizontal writing is called yokogaki ( ๆจชๆธใ ), it is read from left to right โ the same as English โ and it is mainly used for e-mails, how-to books, scientific and language-related writings.
Minimalism is a Japanese design trend that has influenced designers worldwide because of its austerity, simple beauty, and the philosophy of owning fewer things but giving them a higher value. Always using white space, clean lines, and bright, flat colors, cropping/cutting.
Japanese design often features natural scenes, paintings of animals and flowers found in the region, rock gardens, and bonsai. Being close to nature and appreciating seasonal beauty are important in Japanese culture. Harmonious asymmetry - as with the aesthetic concepts of Wabi and Sabi, allowing imperfections, using brush strokes and natural motifs.
In combining their appreciation of nature and simplicity, Japanese designers often use geometric shapes that represent natural phenomena. Cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji, the sun, water, and fish are some of the important symbols in Japanese design. Geometric abstraction - creating patterns and a sense of order, applying symbolism to designs.
Traditional Japanese motifs include mountains, clouds, water, birds, fish, flowers, patterns, characters, and scenes from Japanese folklore or poetry, and ukiyo-e. Draw inspiration from the Japanese landscape and the people's customs to design original pieces.
Contemporary Japanese motifs include a wide range of animals, cartoon characters such as manga and kawaii, cityscapes, futurism, neo-Pop Art, and elements and styles borrowed from other countries. Any of these motifs may also be combined with traditional Japanese art.
I fancy reading so go to meet you. Sitting on the bus as it pulls out, I open a book and winter begins. Nostalgia: the vivid opening passage. His round back spells out a book in itself. All the people I love live in stories. Ever with pen in one hand, Breathing intently into the next page. Somewhere, this book records The time the two of us watched it snow. The letters of words falling In drifts inside my hands.
(Underscoring line after line, that person was trying to suppress the sadnesses. The pain from evaporating snows surges, inside a glove, a fingertip quietly splits open. Share your blank space with me. Fill me with your warm breath. With the words you gave to me, Iโll pass down the tales anew.)
Possessed by the habits of erstwhile lovers, etched in windows of winterโs carriage. Like the โ.โ at the end of an epic tale, tough to erase, they simply are. With the accumulating lines I will erect a castle.
Boldly beginning from the โ.โ multitude, I cross the white line of noble winter.

In Japan, handwriting is valued as an artistic endeavor. The nation has a long history of encouraging its people to take an early interest in handwriting.
This deeply ingrained practice is calligraphy, which is still taught extensively in Japanese society today. For calligraphy to be legible and clean on paper, finetipped pens or brush pens are frequently needed. Pens and paper must be capable of meeting the demand when there is such a presence and appreciation for calligraphy and handwriting. Customers require a high-quality product in order to deliver exceptional results.
Japanese stationery has a reputation for quality and innovation, thoughtful design, and consistently exceeding the high expectations of stationery snobs around the world. Even everyday note-taking paper is manufactured well above the average stationery products that are produced by Western manufacturers.
So I want to design a stationery brand and my design experiments with Japanese typeface can be displayed on the packaging and products.

Handwritten letters could very well be the most beautiful means of communication between humans. They not only store information but also lessen conflicts between us, When you write something down and send it to another person, things slow down, and if the anger is present, it will be eased.
I would like to share this quiet beauty by creating an exhibition.
I hope that visitors can imagine the eras of writing and written words in Japan, the complicated details in handwritten letters in the earlier years โ customized letter paper, seals, symbols, stamps, signature paper size โ and gain more knowledge on handwriting and words.
Typed writing can help a writer tell the lie but a handwritten letter canโt hide the emotion and feelings of the writer, We can know oneโs personality and characteristics through hand-writings
Letters can carry writersโ love. Itโs more than a vehicle to transfer information. Handwritten letters help send love, admiration, and emotion.

"The Words You Gave Me"
Shodo ( ๆธ้ ), Japanese calligraphy means the way of writing and is the art of beautiful script. Its origin comes from China and was first introduced to Japan in the early 5th century.
I want to design a Shodo Experience Store, in this store people can learn the basics of calligraphy , practice the Kanji theyโd like to write, and experience the creation of art using calligraphy or buy products about calligraphy.
