Paying for your CILEX course

Apprenticeships

Levy

• You are classed as a Levy if you have an annual wage bill of over £3 million per year.

• Employers will pay the full cost of the apprenticeship via DAS system.

• Unlimited number of apprentices in a year.

Co-Financing

• Employers who have a wage bill of less than £3 million, has 50 or more employees, or has a trainee 19 or over can receive assistance in paying for the apprenticeship.

• Employer must pay 5% of the value of the apprenticeship via the co-financing form with funding reserved via the DAS system.

• Unlimited number of apprentices in a year.

Fully Funded

• If the trainee is aged 16-18 and the employer has 49 or less employees within the last 365 days prior to the apprentice’s start date the trainee will be fully funded.

• Funding will be provided through ESFA funding – no fees will be charged to the employer and the funding is reserved via the DAS system.

• Unlimited number of apprentices in a year.

Student Loans from Lendwise

• Lendwise is a peer-to-peer lending system, which matches each applicant to a finance provider, depending on their circumstances and funding requirements.

• As such, the amount you are able to borrow, the interest rate, and the repayment period will be a unique proposal for you.

Employer Funding

• Employers may wish to invest in their staff by subsidising their course fees or by paying their course fees in full.

Self-Funding

• You can choose to pay for your course fees yourself.

• You can choose to pay in full or spread the cost over the duration of your programme by direct debit.

• If you wish to spread the cost of your course this way, we would require a 10% deposit upon enrolment.

• Your monthly direct debit contributions will then be assessed by our finance team.

CILEX Lawyer Scholarship

• Provides up to £12,500 to fully cover the cost of training to become a CILEX Lawyer.

• Assessed on the basis of an applicant’s financial and life circumstances, with support targeted at those most under-represented in the legal profession and/or from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

• Applications are made directly to CILEX Foundation.

Millicent Grant Scholarship

• Provides up to £12,500 to cover the training costs to become a CILEX Lawyer.

• Assessed on the basis of an applicant’s financial and life circumstances, with support targeted at those most under-represented in the legal profession and/or from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

• Available to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) applicants.

• Applications are made directly to CILEX Foundation.

CILEX Foundation Bursary Programme

• Awards are means tested and may represent the full or partial cost of your chosen course.

• Can get up to 60% bursary funding towards your course.

• Applications are made directly to CILEX Foundation.
