The Girls’ Network
Redcar & Cleveland College provides female students with the opportunity to take part in The Girls’ Network, Tees Valley. This is a mentoring programme which allows a selection of our students to work with some of the leading businesswomen in the area.
Students meet regularly with their mentor and create plans for what they would like to achieve through the programme, such as building confidence, developing a professional network or even to just have someone to look up to and get advice from.
Angel is currently studying our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. She said; ‘‘The Girls’ Network has helped me so much as it has really boosted my confidence. Through the Network, I was able to attend the launch of the Power of Women campaign and meet lots of inspirational businesswomen from the local area.”

Name: Lee Lives: Redcar
Aspiration: A public service role Course: Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services
The course has been great. The learning environment is really positive and being around good people makes learning enjoyable. I would 100% recommend the course if you are wanting a career in the public services.
Why I chose RCC...
• I live in Redcar so this is my local college • I didn’t know if I wanted to be in the police or army so I chose this course because it allowed me to find out more about both careers • There is lots of practical elements of the course
