EMBRACE YOUR VIEW – A BREATHER FROM YOUR DAILY GRIND Couple of day ago I was burning a whole load of undesirable refuse in my backyard. Just sitting down in front of that blazing fire-pit and watching it all go up in flames reminded me of our bygone days in the house where I grew up and lived with my family. That particular flashback that evening, brought in such a strong surge of hygge memories, I know I’ll never get back again!! All the same as I pondered over them, and actually envisioned and embraced each and every moment I felt in those days, and as they flowed in. Those dim lights, the usual chit-chat, some of us happily running around, and as each of us get ready in our own way to the family dinner, brings a certain kind of peace to my senses, till today, and all this while watched my burning scrap go up in flames. The hygge sensation is so deep and intense to the point that there is something so cryptic in the atmosphere, and sometimes I still try to figure out till date what went on in those days!! Perhaps, it was just my ingenuity, or just walking from one room to the other, feeling the quietude, of the moment and also enjoying the conversations with those around. But all the same, the hygge perception was so magnificently weird and yes it is unexplainable till date in my head. Those occasions when you deliberately slow down to simply embrace what you perceive, calms your senses. Those hygge moments are what brings in those few seconds of joy to your senses. It’s almost like, no matter how harsh your daily endeavours of the day were, nothing calms you down if you don’t slow down for the evening. We have to continuously and consciously remember all the time that our health comes before all else. The whole reason for deliberately feeling the hygge sensation, is to be at peace with ourselves and with others around us, while giving ourselves a chance to recap and concentrate on the day’s accomplishments, and yes I know it’s easier said than done!! There are certain aromas’ in the air that bring back those moments of hygge to our senses. Yes, I get it, we can’t get those eras back. But in all honesty, I must say, there’s nothing better than conscientiously pausing to actually feel those hygge moments. In today’s times where we’re intentionally short on time for practically everything, it’s extremely important to put away all gizmos for a while and simply enjoy nature. Nobody expects anyone to go back to relive the past, but a short pause to
revive our humane side and ‘breathe’ continuously, from those usual mechanical senses of the daily grind, will bring in the much desired stability of daily calm living.
