Paradoxic Tranquility In today’s fast pace life, where is the peace and calm for people? Where is the time for an individual to think of ‘thinking still’? Is there a reason to ‘think still’ when day after day, it’s the same old story, and nothing changes? What will they get out of it all? Is there any significance to any of this at all? Nothing really changes now, does it? Yet, in expressing these emotions to family, or friends, or anyone known, doesn’t really make a difference, now does it? All the same, we ‘come home’ to peace and quiet after a long and hard day’s work – in whatever we do for a living. We all long for those times of quietude to just breathe and not think of anything, knowing so well what lies ahead for the times to come. It is in these quiet moments that we experience the depth of peace. If we can just stop to do whatever is on or hands at the moment in silence, just plain silence, nothing really matters. Being present in the moment of your quietude, is nothing, but doing whatever it is you regularly do – be it your daily chores, out with friends or family, or lazing around, or maybe just being comfortable in your skin – it doesn’t really matter. There is nothing to think about when you have to do a significant task at hand. You’ll do it anyway. In spite of the procrastination that creeps in, and all the put – offs, it a job has to be done, and you don’t really have a choice, but to bite the bullet and complete your task. This sort of irritation has to be curbed completely. Knowing that you don’t really have a choice in your matter, set your differences aside with the ‘thoughts of procrastination’ – which plays a major role in life, and very calmly pick up your task and work on it step by step. Before you know it, you surprise yourself by completing it. Calm concentration is a very simple situation of your mind – it’s not rocket science!! In whatever you do or think of doing, while understanding the depth of the situation of your task, think about it in peace. Tranquility isn’t found ‘outside your situation’. It’s a part and parcel of presence of peace you work with continuously in all you do. Tranquility is what you feel in your day today activities while doing ‘everything and everything’ you normally do.
