OSIS President's Message Izat Syauqan Rasyad
With the Academic Year of 20202021 drawing to a conclusion, it has been well over a year since the pandemic has started. Throughout this time, we have gone through many challenges that some of us could have never even imagined facing just a year prior.
Home-Based Learning has caused us to adjust to a new way of doing everything from learning to conducting events, and even just how we live our lives in general. This pandemic was a period that definitely tested our discipline, mental health, and motivation to continue learning. Despite all of this, we should all be proud that we overcame these challenges, and I truly believe that we have become better as a result. And I hope you would have still found it memorable despite all the challenges. Congratulations on making it through another academic year, and I wish everyone the best of luck in their future endeavours.

In this prison we cAll home Isolation during this pandemic Stuck in a prison we call home Clueless on what to do Everything just seems a blur
But we are suffering And we need to be freed Patiently waiting… For the day we can run freely again
Nothing seems to pique my interest Wandering back and forth Waiting… For the gate to be opened
Hoping the day Of our freedom Is closer than before
We’ve been trapped for too long We need our freedom We know about the virus We know it is a threat

OSIS 2020/2021 presents
Year End Party - memorabilia Written by Elsey Djaparily Chan
After a year of home-based learning, we finally ended the 2020-2021 academic year with a memorable experience. Despite it being our first virtual year-end party, it still left us all with a sense of nostalgia. With Memorabilia as the given theme, we even wore outfits and accessories inspired by the 1920s, and 30s such as clothing from The Great Gatsby. The whole event was being broadcasted from our school - with fancy and elegant decorations. There were hosts and MCs, who sang and danced as songs were being played. Although we were unable to celebrate it in person, it was definitely something worth looking forward to. As each song held a different meaning, the hosts, Bang Dar and Ko Gi, would share exciting stories - piquing the audience’s curiosity. Aside from the karaoke and sing-along, a captivating drama by the 7th Graders was also shown at the start of the event. Afterwards, several awards were presented to those with the best costumes, as well as fun categories for the students and teachers. At the end of the event, a special video was played in recognition of the 2021 graduating class. Ms Indah, the homeroom teacher of Grade 12, delivered a heartwarming message to the 12th Graders, along with plenty of memorable photos. Other than the graduating class, we also bid farewell to some teachers. It is beyond doubt that a virtual year-end party is challenging to organize. Yet, with the help of the student council, it certainly is heartwarming how this came to be. This year’s year-end party will always be one that we won’t forget.
