ALEXANDROS PAPADIAMANTIS Alexandros Papadiamantis is one of the most important Greek writers. Papadiamantis was born in Skiathos in 1851 and his parents were the priest Adamantis Emmanuel and Angeliki Emmanuel. He had four sisters and two brothers. He went to school in his island.
ALEXANDROS PAPADIAMANTIS • Papadiamantis had to leave school because he had to support his family as they did not have any money.
ALEXANDROS PAPADIAMANTIS In 1872 he visited Mount Athos where he stayed as a test monk. Later on he managed to continue his studies. He graduated from Varvakio Gymnasium in Athens in 1874.
ALEXANDROS PAPANTIAMANTIS Since he started his studies at the University, he began journaling and translating from French and English to Greek. These were the languages he knew and used. The money that took for his work was very little. Papadiamantis died in January 1911.
ALEXANDROS PAPADIAMANTIS Papadiananti's novels were also translated into French and many French writers have dealt with them.
