In den letzten 15 Jahren haben wir über 40 Länder bereist. Mit dem Mountainbike oder Snowboard, immer auf der Suche nach den besten Trails und schönsten Powder-Abfahrten, für Magazine und Fotoshootings mit professionellen Fotografen.

Nach einem Lawinenunfall bei einem Snowboardvideodreh im Jahr 1999 hatte der damalige Freeride-Profi Holger Feist die Idee für einen Rucksack mit integriertem Rückenprotektor. Der Unfall war ohne Verschüttung zwar relativ glimpflich ausgegangen. Allerdings hatte sich Holger beim Absturz durch ein Couloir Rückenverletzungen durch die Lawinenschaufel in seinem Rucksack zugezogen. Auch für das Mountainbiken schien das Konzept eines Protektorrucksacks Sinn zu machen, zumal die Ergonomie der damaligen Bike-Rucksäcke sehr zu wünschen übrig ließ. „Wie ein Fußball auf dem Rücken!“, so das Fazit von Holger im Jahr 2000 nach einer dreiwöchigen Bike-Expedition durch Tibet, zum Mt. Everest-Basecamp. Also wurde gebastelt, genäht und herumprobiert, bis 2003 schließlich der erste funktionierende Rucksack-Prototyp auf den Trails von La Paz zum Einsatz kam. Allerdings zeigte sich in Bolivien auch noch ein ganz anderes Problem, für das es damals noch keine sinnvolle

Lösung auf dem Markt gab: Das ursprünglich sorgfältig im Karton verstaute Bike kam mit aufgerissener Verpackung und in all seinen Einzelteilen auf dem Gepäckband am Flughafen in La Paz an. Zum Glück vollständig, doch damit gab es einen offensichtlichen Grund, auch noch ein durchdachtes Bike Travel Bag zu entwickeln. Für beides wurde gleich von Anfang an ein Höchstmaß an Funktionalität und Qualität festgelegt, um sich möglichst nie wieder über seine Ausrüstung ärgern zu müssen. Beide Produkte wurden zunächst nur für die eigenen Reisen hergestellt – und für Freunde, die danach fragten. Bis eines Tages Bernd Stucke, Freund und langjähriger Mitreisender, aus Hongkong anrief. Er hatte sein Bike in einem der ersten Bike-Bags zum Service in den legendären „Flying Ball“Bike-Shop gebracht. Und Mr. Lee, Hongkongs Bike-Koryphäe und zugleich der Ladenbesitzer, war so begeistert von dieser Fahrradreisetasche, dass er umgehend 50 Stück bestellte. Damit hatten wir den ersten „richtigen“ Kunden.

Qualität, Funktionalität und Strapazierfähigkeit und setzen damit Trends in Sachen Design, Komfort und Sicherheit. Wir reisen immer noch so viel wie möglich mit unseren Sportgeräten um die Welt – inzwischen allerdings auch immer öfter mit unserem Businessgepäck. Dabei testen wir alle Produkte selbst und investieren viel Zeit und Energie, um alles weiter zu perfektionieren – und zwar bis ins kleinste Detail. Mit jedem Produkt vermitteln wir die Leidenschaft für unseren Sport und die Leidenschaft für das, was wir tun. Produkte von EVOC sind daher immer ein bisschen mehr als einfach nur Ausrüstungsgegenstände. Wie eine Art schiefer Tafelberg ragt der Hohe Ifen über dem Kleinwalsertal empor. Mit seinen 2229 m Höhe ist er nicht gerade ein Gigant, doch seine spezielle Form macht ihn zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Schon Jahre lang träumen wir von seiner Besteigung und dieses Jahr scheint nun endlich alles zu passen. Gerade stellt sich aber raus, dass es wohl gar nicht so einfach ist, dort hoch zu kommen: Um den ganzen Gipfelaufbau herum verläuft ein Felsband, die sogenannte „Ifenmauer”, die nur an wenigen Stellen unterbrochen scheint. Der Normalweg, im Sommer ein Klettersteig, führt durch eine steile Rinne oberhalb des Skigebiets durch den Felsaufbau. Klettertechnisch sind die Schwierigkeiten überschaubar, doch der Zustieg führt durch die Ifenmulde und weiter durch große, ungegliederte Hänge als kilometerlange Querung unterhalb der Ifenmauer entlang. Hier ist die Lawinengefahr ganz klar

der beschränkende Faktor, denn einen Hang dieser Größenordnung möchte niemand in Bewegung erleben – schon gar nicht im Aufstiegsmodus. Doch wir haben Glück: Erst ein paar Tage zuvor hat die Lawinenkommission die Ifenmulde durch eine Sprengung, mit einem gigantischen Schneebrett von ihrer großen Schneelast befreit. Gruselnd die Dimensionen betrachtend, klettern wir die meterdicke Abrisskante hinunter, um für den interessanten Teil der Tour aufzufellen. Mit drei Filmern und einem Fotograf sind auch genauso viele Leute hinter der Kamera zu finden, wie davor.

DIE HÄNGE SIND RIESIG UND DIE IFENMAUER IST VON GEWALTIGEN WECHTEN GEKRÖNT. Produktchef Holger Feist, Marketing Manager Jan Sallawitz und Außendienstmitarbeiter Christian Morgenroth sind heute die „Athleten“ und werden von den EVOC Filmern und Fotografen Baschi Bender und Markus Greber bei der Besteigung auf Schritt und Tritt begleitet. Drohnenfilmer Christian Walter dokumentiert zusammen mit Daniel Staub das gesamte

Setting. Es gilt also, neben den Menschen auch jede Menge Material auf den Berg zu befördern. Ein echter Härtetest für unsere Taschen und Rucksäcke! Zunächst geht es ganz entspannt auf einer langen Traverse durch die großen Nordhänge – trotzdem ist Eile angesagt: Die Hänge sind riesig und die Ifenmauer ist vielerorts von gewaltigen Wechten gekrönt, die man nicht unbedingt auf den Kopf bekommen möchte. Unterhalb eines großen Felsblocks sammelt sich die Gruppe. Ab hier geht es steil die Rinne hinauf und nur mit ausgefeilter Spitzkehrentechnik ist überhaupt noch Höhe zu gewinnen. Nun ist die Zeit der Fotografen und Filmer gekommen, denn das Gelände ist spektakulär und die Ausblicke immer eindrucksvoller. Besonders, wie die zunehmend engeren Spitzkehren von den „Athleten“ genommen werden, ist durchaus sehenswert! >> 7

„Menschlicher Beinknotenkünstler“ und „Verzweifelter Kartoffelkäfer“ sind hierbei die Figuren, die am meisten Beifall finden. Während wir uns so zum nächsten Sammelpunkt mühen, bereitet der Bergführer bereits die Seile für die einzige wirkliche Kletterpassage dieser Tour vor. Im Prinzip muss nur ein knapp fünf Meter hoher Felsriegel überwunden werden, doch der Fels ist mit Schnee überzogen und die Griffe leicht abschüssig. Mit kompletter Wintersportausrüstung also eine echte Herausforderung. Da der Ausstieg zum Gipfelplateau bereits mit Sonnenschein lockt, beeilen sich aber alle, schnell nach oben zu kommen. Ab hier ändert sich der Eindruck vollständig: Eben noch in einem engen, schattigen

Felskamin, befinden wir uns nun auf einem riesigen, flächigem Schneeplateau, das sanft zum Gipfelkreuz ansteigt. Vor einem großartigen Panorama stapfen wir die letzten Meter bis zur wohlverdienten Gipfel-Jause. Die Aussicht ist grandios: Zu unseren Füßen liegen das Gottesackerplateau und weiter hinten der Bregenzer Wald, das Rätikon und der Bodensee. Das Lechquellengebirge und die Allgäuer Bergprominenz runden das Bild ab. Gut gestärkt steht für uns nun die vielleicht spannendste Passage der ganzen Tour an: Über einen Felssporn gilt es, sich für die weitere Abfahrt, knapp vierzig Meter in die südöstlichen Hänge abzuseilen. Das Besondere: die Wand ist im mittleren Teil überhängend, so dass ein gutes Abseilstück ohne Wandkontakt, dafür aber mit beeindruckendem Luftstand stattfindet. Leider hat sich aber die Lawinensituation über den Tag so verschlechtert, dass wir uns von den ganz großen Hängen fern halten müssen. Aber auch so finden wir noch jede Menge feinster Powderturns auf dem Weg nach unten. Mit einem kalten Weißbierglas in der Hand und ein bisschen Stolz in der Brust, blicken wir später vom Tal aus auf diesen ganz besonderen Berg, der nun wieder friedlich in der Nachmittagssonne ruht.

Die Suche nach der perfekten Line ist seit jeher Teil unserer Geschichte – und Tourengehen daher ein wichtiges Segment bei EVOC. Was einen guten Tourenrucksack ausmacht, wissen wir aus eigener Erfahrung. Innerhalb der SNOW 2016/17-Kollektion richten wir mit unserer neuen PATROL Serie unsere Aufmerksamkeit verstärkt auf Tourengeher. „Bei der Überarbeitung und Erweiterung unserer PATROL Modelle haben wir die EVOC „BIG 5“ konsequent umgesetzt: Das bewegungsneutrale Lastverhalten der Rucksäcke, sowie gepolsterte Hüft- und Schultergurte sorgen für höchsten Tragekomfort auf Tour, während der schmale Schnitt die perfekte Ergonomie für Aufstieg und Abfahrt bietet.

Eine weitere Gewichtsoptimierung bei gleichzeitiger Materialverstärkung konnten wir durch den Einsatz neuartiger Nylon-Gewebe erreichen. Die einzelnen Modelle wurden so durchschnittlich noch mal um 10 Prozent leichter. Die Rucksäcke unserer TECHNICAL PERFOMANCE BACKPACK Linie wurden für Wintersportler entwickelt, denen hoher Tragekomfort und funktionelle Features wichtig sind. Für Tourengeher im Hochtouren- und Mehrtagessegment haben wir die PATROL Serie neu aufgelegt und um ein 55-Liter-Modell erweitert. Das NEUTRALITE SYSTEM bietet höchsten Tragekomfort, auch bei voll beladenem Rucksack, während das Eigengewicht des Rucksacks dank abnehmbarer Befestigungssysteme selbstständig reduziert werden kann. “Als wir auf der Suche nach FotoLocations das Pitztal durchstreiften, fanden wir diese Eishöhle. Hoch genug, dass man problemlos aufrecht darin stehen und laufen konnte, und sehr weit verzweigt. Dieses „Haus aus Eis“ faszinierte uns auf Anhieb – die unwirklichen Formen und Lichtspiele im Eis boten eine eindrucksvolle Kulisse. Zu Fuß erkundeten wir die Höhle und deren Umgebung, bis der Tag sich langsam dem Ende neigte. Um noch ein gutes Bild zu bekommen, mussten wir unsere Entdeckungsreise abbrechen und einen Spot finden, der es erlaubte, sowohl die Schönheit dieses Ortes, als auch mich als Fahrer optimal in Szene zu setzen. Ein kleiner Vorsprung über dem Eingang der Höhle kam da sehr gelegen. Und die untergehende Sonne tat ihr Übriges, um diesem Bild das gewisse Etwas zu verleihen.“

Für den ambitionierten Einsatz bieten wir mit dem NEUTRALITE SYSTEM ein Tragesystem für Rucksäcke mit hoher Ladekapazität, so können auch schwerere Ladungen über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg, bewegungsneutral und komfortabel transportiert werden. 01

Die Rückenanpassung und Lastübertragung erfolgt hierbei über formbare Stabilisierungselemente, die alle Gewichtseinflüsse über segmentierte und strategisch positionierte Polsterelemente auf einen speziell angepassten Hüftgurt 01 übertragen.

So kann das Gewicht am Körperschwerpunkt über die Hüfte möglichst neutral aufgenommen werden. Besonders breite, gut gepolsterte und ergonomisch geformte Schultergurte 02 mit tiefem Nackenausschnitt halten den Rucksack dabei jederzeit in Position und verhindern ein Verrutschen, auch bei sportlichen Einsatz. Sinnvolle Aussparungen und Luftkanäle sorgen gleichzeitig für eine optimale Luftzirkulation im gesamten Rückenbereich.

AIR CIRCULATION AIR CIRCULATION kommt bei allen unseren Rucksäcken zum Einsatz, da es auch bei hoher Anstrengung und Schweißbildung eine optimale Belüftung gewährleistet und simultan das Auskühlen der empfindlichen Nierenpartie verhindert. Eine stetige, freie Luftzirkulation wird durch den vertikal geführten Luftkanal gewährleistet.

Über seitliche Aussparungen entlang des Kanals kann zusätzlich Luft abfließen. Darüber hinaus wurde die Polsterung in den seitlichen Rückenbereichen reduziert, um den Luftabfluss weiter zu optimieren.

“Der Hohe Ifen stand schon lang auf meiner Liste. Die Tour über das Gottesackerplateau hinauf zum 2229 Meter hohen Gipfel gehört zu den schönsten im Allgäuer Alpenraum. Doch aufgrund der technisch anspruchsvollen Passagen ist die Tour nur bei sicheren Verhältnissen machbar. Alpine Erfahrung haben wir alle im Team, doch hier muss auch das Wetter mitspielen. Und endlich, im Winter des letzten Jahres, konnten wir den Gipfel in Angriff nehmen. Neben der Skitourenausrüstung gehört auch Kletter-Equipment mit ins Gepäck. Spitzkehre um Spitzkehre arbeiten wir uns zum schmalen Durchstieg an der Nordflanke des Hohen Ifen hinauf. Das Couloir wird oben so schmal, dass man kaum noch Schritte zwischen den Kehren setzen kann. Nun heißt es klettern. Die Ski an den Rucksack geschnallt, durchsteigen wir die kurze Kletterpassage und werden mit einem atemberaubenden Ausblick belohnt. Bei bestem Wetter bietet uns das Gipfelplateau eine unbeschreibliche Fernsicht des ganzen Schweizer Alpenpanoramas von der Schesaplana über den Tödi bis zum Säntis. “

“As a photographer I’m constantly looking for new inspiration. Shots of jumping snowboarders or spray in deep powder snow are always cool, time and again. But this year I changed perspective and went “under” the rider. I abseiled into a crevasse, where I remained until my colleague Jean-Louis gave the signal and set off. To catch the right moment for pressing the button was not actually that easy, as I had to rely entirely on my hearing. In order to keep the sensitive memory cards and spare batteries dry during the shoot and protect them from snow that was dropping down, I used the SAFE POUCH SET WATERPROOF bags. Designed for ambitious use, our NEUTRALITE SYSTEM is a carrying system for high-capacity backpacks, which allows even heavy loads to be carried comfortably over longer periods, in a way that is neutral to movement. Back adaptation and load transfer are managed via malleable stabilising elements that transfer the weight onto a specially adapted hip belt 01 via segmented and strategically positioned padded elements. This means that the weight is absorbed

as neutrally as possible at the bodyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s centre of gravity, via the hips. Particularly wide, well-padded and ergonomically shaped shoulder straps 02 with a wide neck cut-out help keep the backpack in place at all times and prevent it from slipping, even during action-loaded manoeuvres. At the same time, useful gaps and aeration channels ensure optimal ventilation across the entire back.

AIR CIRCULATION AIR CIRCULATION is used in all our backpacks, as it ensures optimum ventilation while preventing excessive cooling down of the sensitive kidney area, even during extremely high-strain activities or intensive perspiration.
