Letter from the President Hi guys, Until now, the Drug Enforcement Administration argued that industrial hemp is essentially identical to psychoactive cannabis, and therefore a "Schedule I substance" under the Controlled Substances Act. Schedule I substances face the strictest penalties for use and are considered to have no benefit to humanity, despite the numerous benefits of all forms of cannabis. The 2018 Farm Bill completely removed hemp and anything made from hemp from the Controlled Substances Act. This will improve numerous policies that hurt the industry. Hemp businesses routinely struggle to access banking, advertising, and other services. We're the only product in the grocery store that can't be advertised. Attitudes are already changing. Even before being signed into law, the 2018 Farm Bill inspired the Alabama state attorney general to back off from plans to prosecute CBD stores. This could be a moment with international significance. Our attempts to encourage hemp farming in foreign countries often faced resistance from officials afraid of U.S. government retaliation. That could be on the verge of changing. All of these countries around the world are going to open up their hemp policies now.

All of these things sound great in theory, but what tends to happen for a lot of us is a slow decline in motivation to continue to try and achieve these new goals. We hope for big monumental changes when sometimes we aren’t quite ready for them to happen. We bite off more than we can chew, and it can leave us feeling disheartened, discouraged, and as though

crispy sesame tofu with zucchini noodles
source: https://myfoodstory.com/crispy-sesame-tofu-zucchini-noodle-meal-prep-recipe/
INSTRUCTIONS: *Make the Sauce
INGREDIENTS: sesame peanut sauce -1/2 cup peanut butter -2 tablespoons Sesame Oil -1/4 cup light low sodium Soy Sauce -1/4 cup Rice Vinegar -1 teaspoon Chilli Flakes -2 tablespoons Maple Syrup (or Honey) -2-3 Garlic Cloves, roughly chopped -1 knob of fresh Ginger, peeled and roughly chopped -1 tablespoon Oil *try hempseed Oil -12 oz/350 gms firm Tofu, cut into small pieces -Zucchinis, spiralized -Sesame Seeds and Green Onions for topping *sprinkle hemp hearts, too!
In a blender or food processor, add all the ingredients for the sauce along with a splash of water and blend till smooth. Set aside 1/4 cup sauce and divide the rest in the mini sauce containers. You might be left with a little extra sauce which you can reserve for later – it works really well as a salad dressing! *Cook the crispy tofu Heat oil in a pan and add the tofu. As soon as the tofu is a very light brown, add 1/4 cup sauce to the pan and toss the tofu in it. Cook everything on low heat. In some time, the sauce will start to evaporate and slowly it will start turning into golden brown and sticking to the pan and tofu. Things will become crispy and you finally you’ll be left with crispy browned bits of tofu in the pan. *Assemble To assemble the meal prep containers, divide zucchini noodles in the containers. Divide the tofu amongst the containers and place the mini sauce containers on one side. Place the lid and refrigerate for up to 5 days.

The Top 3 New Year's Resolutions & How to Actually Achieve Them Happy New Year! With it being 2019, comes the need of the “new me.” Resolutions to make us better people are in the air and seems like it’s all everyone thinks about for a couple weeks before it slowly dies away. The problem with resolutions is we wait until this time of year to start them and we never follow through with them. How can we make sure our resolutions stick with us throughout the entire year? The MAIN problem: Our resolutions are too broad. Typical goals for many of us include eating better, sleeping better, and being happier. The problem with these is that they sound nice, but how exactly are you going to achieve those things? We need to set clear goals that are easy to follow and manageable so we don’t give up on them so fast.
For eating better, instead have it where you set the goal of having only one cheat meal a week or eating vegetables for dinner every night, or at least 3-4 times a week. Make sure whatever goal you make, it is something you can actually accomplish so be reasonable with it, at first, and if you feel you are handling it well, make it even more intense, if that is your wish. Small steps are key to creating the lifestyle you want. For sleeping better, I, personally, have set the goal to get 8 hours of sleep during my weeknights. I have a problem of going to bed too late and either being tired and cranky, or I end up taking a long nap during the day, messing up my sleep schedule. For those of you with the same problem, try it with me! I have started with during the weeknights as that is the easiest time in my week to stick to a schedule, versus the weekend. Have a problem with falling asleep, though? I take my CBD before I go to bed to help fix that problem! Maybe your resolution is just trying to fall asleep at a decent time, then maybe CBD is right for you. Try it and see the difference. For being happier, I sometimes laugh to myself as I always wish to be happier, yet life seems to get in the way of that. It’s hard to control what happens to us in our lives, but we have to try and stay positive about it all and look forward to what’s ahead. For this, I really think those small steps is what will get you there. For me, eating well, and having a good routine is all I can ask for. For those are things I can control. I have seen suggestions for us social media fanatics to unfollow any account, or person, that makes us feel less of ourselves so that any picture you see on your Instagram feed will make you feel good and inspired, versus sad and disappointed, or even jealous. Another, for me, is I love to wear makeup and experiment with it, but then I take it off and I don’t always like what I see. Instead, I have grown to accept my natural beauty and only wear makeup for parties or special occasions. I think a huge part of happiness is acceptance of who we are and embracing that, because how can we be happy if we aren’t happy with ourselves. New Year’s does mean a new beginning, so take that chance. If you are one for resolutions, make sure they are easy to follow and manageable for you. Keep going with those goals and don’t give up so fast! We are all amazing human beings who can do anything we want to so make goals that help you get to where you want to be.
