A well is a place to gather and collect water and to share stories. The Well: River Roots is intended to be a gathering place to celebrate shared experiences.

River Roots is collaboration with artist Alisha Wormsley and grew from the Living Waters of Larimer (LWOL), a project of the Kingsley Association.

River Roots is collaboration with artist Alisha Wormsley and grew from the Living Waters of Larimer (LWOL), a project of the Kingsley Association.

LWOL advocates for the artful integration of rainwater infrastructure. River Roots is the first installation of water+art projects in the community.


RIVER ROOTS OUR WATER [SHED] STORY

Stormwater is the core of this restorative project. It reveals natural processes and the community voice.


OUR WATER STORY OUR RESOURCE Water is captured from the site and falls gently through the site in bioswales and through art structures.

RIVER ROOTS is the telling of community stories through water in the landscape. On the upper site, surface runoff is collected and visibly celebrated through art. The upper area gives voice to the stories that people know and understand.

RIVER ROOTS is the telling of community stories through water in the landscape. On the lower site, water seeps from sources unseen. Visitors can see and hear stories that are less visible.

RIVER ROOTS is the telling of community stories through water in the landscape. The project uses art to explore narratives that emerge from places known and unknown and how they shape our collective landscape.
