A Letter from the CEO

Welcome, ACT is the charity for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), which runs Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals in Cambridge. CUH is one of the UK's leading academic health organisations and works closely with the University of Cambridge to deliver leading足 edge clinical care, health-related research and the education of the healthcare workforce. This creates a special kind of setting for professional fund raisers - one which provides the opportunity to work across a spectrum from the local public and patients through to some of the world's leading clinicians and medical researchers. The benefits of ACT's fund raising activities are also immediately obvious because we work so closely with the hospitals. All this adds up, in my experience, to a hugely stimulating, rewarding - and sometimes challenging - environment in which to work. ACT has grown rapidly over recent years, responding to both opportunities and need. We now wish to take this growth a stage further. The purpose for this new post is to strengthen our in足 house capacity to develop strategic relationships with trusts, individual philanthropists and corporate partners resulting in higher levels of major gifts, and to strengthen the management team of ACT. Please do give this opportunities serious consideration. We look forward to hearing from you if you think you have the skills and experience to move ACT forwards. Yours faithfully,

Stephen Davies Chief Executive
