Introduction An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fundraising researcher to join our growing High Value Partnerships team as we prepare for a major new fundraising appeal. You will be responsible for researching donors and prospects and creating detailed profiles in order to identify new supporters. You will need to be highly organised, methodical, proactive and with great attention to detail. You will be an experienced prospect researcher, in particular within a High Value Partnerships team (major donors, trusts and corporates).

Job Description • Research existing donors and prospects (individuals, trusts & companies) and create research profiles in order to identify potential major donors for Guide Dogs (50%) • Build and maintain appropriate research resources for High Value Partnerships department including managing research expenditure budget, and negotiation with, and relationship management of suppliers (5%) • Manage annual wealth screening of the database to ensure adequate prospect pipeline for fundraisers (5%) • Produce briefing papers for Guide Dogs’ staff on guests attending major donor cultivation & stewardship events (5%) • Proactively work with other teams within Fundraising to identify major donor prospects (5%) • Produce monthly competitor research update for the team to cover developments in the sector and competitor initiatives that may impact on team activity (5%) • Maintain accurate records on the fundraising database and donor records ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act (5%) • Proactively support the High Value Partnerships team specifically with research needs but also as required with help at events, preparation for mailings and support with writing proposals (20%)

PC literate in standard packages. • Previous relevant experience - Experience of working in a research environment / capacity. • Knowledge - Knowledge of research resources & how to use them. Knowledge of working with CRM systems. • Qualifications/ Training - Educated to degree level or equivalent. • Special requirements (such as travel /overnight stays) - Flexibility is required – although the post holder will primarily be based at central office, there will be occasional travel and overnight stays. • Dog friendly - Comfortable with dogs in the workplace/ office. • Eligibility to work in UK - Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK Desirable • Previous relevant experience - Experience of working in prospect research capacity within a major relationships team / charity. Proven ability to identify major donor prospects & determine potential gift capacity. • Knowledge - Knowledge of research resources specific to major relationship fundraising. Knowledge of major relationship fundraising principles. Knowledge of specific fundraising CRM systems. • Qualifications/ Training - Specific fundraising / research qualifications. 6
