The cost of delivering an outstanding visitor attraction and funding our important work with London schools and communities is £12.6m each year. Outside of a TfL grant of £5.8m, the Museum must earn its income. Development activity is an important part of this, currently raising around £2.5m each year. Underpinning this are valued and long-lasting partnerships with individuals, business and a range of outside bodies. The post holder will work within the Marketing and Development department to develop and manage new income streams for the Museum and its work. This includes working closely with the Museum Board and a diverse community of corporate partners, trusts and foundations to fundraise for a wide range of Museum initiatives including exhibitions, education programmes and events. The post holder will identify new business funding opportunities and develop them to fruition, managing these relationships through to completion. This work will involve research, making contact, building relationships, writing proposals and applications, closing the deal, establishing mutually beneficial partnerships which exceed funder expectations and sustain relationships in the long-term. The post holder’s effective team work and commitment will promote the reputation of the Museum as a first rate organisation for funders to support and be associated with.
