Director
We are a small charity with just five committed staff but we have a fantastic board of trustees and Chairman. HRH The Prince of Wales is very committed and always relishes meeting our beneficiaries and promoting the work of the fund. Most of our income comes from the companies which license the fund’s logo, but each of our approximately 26 partnerships are different and they include retailers, food producers, banks and clothing companies. We work with LandRover to offer a Bursary for example, and with Barbour to support their Apprentice of the Season. There is so much more we can do to maximise the potential of our partnerships and this role will be critical to maintain and grow them, as well as to collaborate with the Head of Fundraising on new business development opportunities.

Programme which annually provides fundamental support to small farm businesses in 15 locations across the UK who have been put under unprecedented strain due to the recent decline in farmgate prices. The research we commission into the issues affecting farming families and rural communities further works to help provide a secure future for the countryside. We rely on the income we generate through our corporate partnerships, logo licensing, events and donations. It is this important fundraising work which enables us to improve the prospects of family farm businesses and the quality of rural life. In the face of Brexit and other challenging hurdles, the resources which The Prince’s Countryside

Since its establishment in 2010 by HRH The Prince of Wales, The Prince’s Countryside Fund has been committed to supporting and working with the rural communities and farms who care for our countryside. Each year we award grants of up to £50,000 and provide more than £1million (plus an emergency fund) in grant funding to local projects across the UK. Projects we have funded range from inspiring and training budding hill farmers through apprenticeships programmes, to funding disaster response teams to countryside crises such as Storm Desmond. The Prince’s Countryside Fund also invests its time in celebrating and promoting the value of the countryside by leading on our own projects. A key example of this is The Prince’s Farm Resilience

Role Depth – Aims, Purpose and Context This is an exciting time to be joining the Prince’s Countryside Fund as Corporate Partnerships Manager. We are only seven years old and in this time, we have raised £10m of new money to help provide a secure future for the countryside. The Prince’s Countryside Fund has carved out a niche position, being one of only a handful of national charities supporting rural communities. Our vision is of a confident, robust and sustainable agricultural and rural community which is universally appreciated for its vital contribution to our British way of life and fit to support future generations. The Fund has built strong relationships with companies that depend on a thriving agricultural and rural sector including Waitrose, Jordan’s and Dairy Crest, just a few of the over 20 companies that annually contribute to the fund. We are fortunate to include many of the sector’s senior leaders on our Board of Trustees and they are incredibly enthusiastic and willing to help grow the income of the fund even further.
This role will see you manage a portfolio of 26 plus corporate partners to engage them further and secure their support into the long term. You will gain exposure to senior executives as well as branding, marketing, PR and CSR contacts at these companies. This is a creative role, constantly seeking new ways to raise money or awareness beyond the annual charitable donation. You will also work with the Head of Fundraising to identify new companies that can support the fund. You will be working within a small team that all pulls together and will witness the impact of our grant making through visits to our grantees on farms and rural communities. This is an exciting, fast-paced and varied role, ideal for someone who can provide excellent account management and enjoys working with people across an organisation. HRH The Prince of Wales is passionate about the countryside, especially the small family farms that keep the British countryside special. He is absolutely committed to help build the fund even further as we aim to achieve continued annual income growth to become a £5million charity.
