JOB DESCRIPTION MAIN TASKS Campaign

MAIN TASKS Develop and implement the over-arching strategic plan for the successful delivery of a campaign which will raise funds to enable the Centre to expand its work both on and offsite.

Marketing and Communications

This will include: •

Championing the aims of the campaign and being a passionate and effective ambassador for the Centre and the campaign with external and internal stakeholders.

Refining the case for support.

Mapping the key events in the lifetime of the campaign and the milestones, success criteria and risk register.

Ensuring that all necessary supporting information, guidelines and briefings related to the campaign are developed and disseminated across the organisation and governance structure.

Ensuring that appropriate donor research is carried out to support the campaign – in particular, research for high-net-worth individuals, Trusts, Foundations, and companies.

Identifying and developing the opportunities for giving to suit individual circumstance and preference.

Leading the donor recognition strategy for the campaign.

Putting in place suitable campaign governance.

Managing the agreed campaign budget and providing regular monitoring reports to the CEO and the Development Committee, highlighting variance and recommending action.

Provide effective marketing leadership for the organisation, in collaboration with the CEO and Deputy CEO, to drive forward transformational integrated marketing activities to enhance awareness of the Centre and its work nationally.

Review and develop the brand, ensuring that it works for, and is embedded in, all parts of the organisation.

Working with the Digital Marketing Manager, help to drive the digital strategy, injecting creativity and expertise into the digital offering and keeping up to date with latest developments in the field, rolling out new ideas and activities where appropriate. Ensure the Centre has the activity and engagement to connect those affected by the Holocaust and its history with the work of the Centre.

Ensure that the distinctiveness of the Centre’s work is clearly conveyed to key stakeholders through all channels.

Increase reach, stakeholder engagement, income and advocacy, to foster long term supporters and growth for the charity.

Alongside the Director of Learning, provide strategic leadership to ensure the Centre has a clear strategy for marketing its services to educational professionals, working with the Business Development Manager and other staff to help package the learning programmes to maximise bookings.

Support the marketing team in providing creative and innovative solutions to increase awareness of the Centre and its work.

Ensure the Centre has the right offerings to engage audiences, including a strong case for support for donors and supporters.

When needed, deputise for the CEO in relation to marketing and communications initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION MAIN TASKS Leadership and Planning

Finance and Administration

MAIN TASKS •

Provide strategic leadership and inspiring management to the Fundraising and Marketing teams, creating a developmental and learning environment whereby team members are motivated and supported in their work.

Set team priorities and individual objectives in line with the charity’s strategic plan, managing staff performance against the delivery of these objectives.

Ensure communications within and between the teams are effective and working relationships are supportive and productive.

Senior Management Team

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the post-holder will contribute towards team working and take on leadership of a range of projects reporting to the SMT.

Inspire, motivate and enthuse staff within the team and more widely across the charity, promoting a culture of learning, professionalism, collaboration and innovation, celebrating successes and encouraging ambition and achievement.

Establish and maintain the electronic and hard-copy information storage and retrieval systems that enables the Centre to manage donor relations and marketing information.

Implement the Centre’s new Forward Plan, playing an active role in the organisational strategic planning process, with responsibility for completion of operating plans and budgets in conjunction with the SMT.

Ensure accountability and the consistent implementation of agreed policies and procedures.

This will include:

Ensuring the CRM system is used consistently across the fundraising and marketing teams to record donor/ stakeholder information, including donations.

Attend and participate in Trustee meetings as required, providing updates and feedback on fundraising and marketing activity.

Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the work of the Centre.

Comply with corporate policy and procedure at all times.

Producing regular performance and financial reports for the CEO/Deputy CEO and the Development Committee.

Represent the Centre in a professional manner both external and internally, in keeping with the Centre’s vision, mission and goals.

Establishing effective marketing performance data collection and storage systems.

Keeping up to date on key trends, best practice and fundraising law.

Ensuring that all professional codes of practice and legislative requirements are adhered to in any fundraising and marketing activity.

Proven track record of face-to-face major gift fundraising and soliciting donations.

Experience of operating, networking and influencing at a senior level externally to an organisation in pursuit of business objectives, e.g. key decision makers in funding organisations, major donors etc.

Relevant professional fundraising qualification, e.g. Certificate in Fundraising, Masters of Business Administration, and/or educated to degree level or equivalent.

Membership of appropriate professional bodies, e.g. IoF.

Relevant marketing qualification.

Leadership and people-management ability that inspires and motivates others to make their maximum contribution to the best of their ability.

Planning and organising skills in order to produce strategic and operational plans.

Empathy and social skills in order to understand the perspective of others, respond to need and expectations and build effective working relationships e.g. with influential individual donors, decision makers etc.

Ability to quickly develop skills in unfamiliar areas.

Acre Edge Road, Laxton, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG22 0PA. A regular on-site presence at The Centre will be required and it is anticipated that this would amount to approximately 3 days per week. Frequent travel to London will be necessary. Part home working will be considered.
