JOB DESCRIPTION DEPARTMENT Global Partnerships
REPORTS TO Executive Director – Global Partnerships
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Head of Individual Giving is a new role within a wider Global Partnerships team that will have specific responsibility for developing and implementing new strategies to build the Cathedral’s Patrons and Individual giving programmes. This includes defining strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and retention of individual donors. The post-holder will work closely with the Executive Director, Global Partnerships on reviewing and developing the Cathedral’s current patronage programmes, in addition to increasing levels of support and increasing income derived from the Cathedral’s Friends scheme (Friends of St Paul’s Cathedral). S/he will be responsible for introducing creative, integrated strategies for engaging individuals across the wide range of the Cathedral’s work, and the building of a sense of cohesion and common purpose.

JOB DESCRIPTION PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•
To review the Cathedral’s current patronage programmes, and deliver strategies to develop the programme, increasing membership at all levels and expanding the philanthropic income generated
•
To cultivate potential and existing donors, with excellent and appropriate communications, to determine their philanthropic interests and making connections between these interests and the work at St Paul’s
•
To develop fundraising materials and proposals that will inspire individuals to give to St Paul’s, and report of the impact of their giving
•
To contribute to the development of a new Friends strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director, Global Partnerships, and Friends Council
•
Supported by the Executive Director, Global Partnerships, to take overall management responsibility for the Cathedral’s Friends programme, including development of the membership package, recommending subscription levels and implementing changes as agreed and approved by the Friends Council
•
To build strong working relationships with Chapter members, Registrar, Heads of Departments and trustees of the Cathedral’s associated trusts
•
To work closely with the Head of Trusts and Foundations and Researcher to introduce new research tools and techniques to identify donor prospects e.g. wealth screening data, web-based research
•
Manage Individual Giving income and expenditure budgets, with the support of the wider team, and contribute to the Department’s planning and reporting
•
Strategically plan for growth of the Cathedral’s legacy programme
•
Effectively market the Patrons programme through a range of media channels
•
Set benchmarks to chart the progress of these programmes and regular reporting mechanisms
•
As a senior member of the Global Partnerships team, participate in cultivation, stewardship and Friends engagement events
•
Represent the Cathedral in external networks, such as Patrons, Individual Giving, Membership or Major Gift forums
•
Keep abreast of developments in fundraising and related legislation, and ensure compliance with HMRC Gift Aid legislation, VAT and GDPR
•
Any other appropriate duties that the line manager, senior management or Chapter may request from time-to-time.
