Whilst still in its infancy, Al Jalila Foundation has done a remarkable job raising over AED 500 million, allowing us to invest in a number of innovative philanthropic projects and programs to transform people’s lives. In line with our strategy to support our sister entities, Mohammed Bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences and Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, now, more than ever, we need to amplify our fundraising efforts to build on our past success and accelerate growth over the next five years. AL JALILA FOUNDATION Al Jalila Foundation is a global philanthropic organisation dedicated to transforming lives through medical education and research. The Foundation was established in April 2013, by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai and the UAE at the forefront of medical innovation. It is named after Her Highness Sheikha Al Jalila Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the daughter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed and Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority. Al Jalila Foundation aims to support patient care, medical education and research in the UAE. Its direct beneficiaries include Al Jalila Children’s

JOB PURPOSE The Foundation Director is appointed by the Board of Directors and is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Foundation by working closely with the Board and Senior Management to establish long-term goals, sustainable strategies, plans and policies, as well as securing funds to support its local and international programs and to build its endowment. JOB DESCRIPTION - MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION
• With the Board of Directors, establish and define the Foundation’s vision, strategy, business plan and policy;
• Create strong relationships with the AJC, MBRU and other DHCA entities through effective communication and support, and by understanding their important role in fulfilment of the Foundation’s mission;
• Lead and develop the organisational strategy in order to ensure that it is well positioned to secure funds to deliver programs and initiatives; • Monitor and report to the Board on progress against strategy.
• Act as a point of reference, advising on contracts and/or agreements with investors/donors, government and private sectors, and other entities within DHCA; • Consolidate and build relationships with relevant individuals, organisations and the media;
FUNDRAISING • Develop and implement an ambitious, achievable income generation strategy and plan to enable the Foundation meet its long-term strategic objective of raising over $100 million USD annually; • Responsible for the development and implementation of short and long-term funding strategies to generate revenue from donors (individuals, corporations and foundations) for the funding of the Foundation’s programs; • Establish and develop relationships with donors, sponsors and external entities to deliver and facilitate funding and business requirements; • Look to build an endowment as part of the fundraising strategy; • Build and increase individual donor giving through face-to-face meetings with and solicitation of philanthropists and potential donors; • Oversee the development of a donor database and prospect pipeline; • Develop corporate giving and sponsorship relationships and programs, increasing the amount of funds they generate annually; • Secure grants from traditional sources and from foundations that have not yet supported the Foundation; • Oversee local and international fundraising activities and ensure annual targets are achieved; • Ensure that the marketing strategy and plans are developed and implemented for the overall purpose of attracting, developing and retaining prospects and donors; • Support Board-organised fundraising events to ensure they function smoothly, efficiently, successfully and achieve targets.

• Act as the public face of the Foundation nationally and internationally and engage with a broad range of stakeholders in order to build the Foundation’s influence and reputation. FINANCIAL REPORTING • Submit to the Finance Committee and Board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial reports which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organisation; • Ensure that a thorough and accurate annual audit is completed and reported to the Board of Directors; • Manage resources in a way that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget; ensure maximum resource utilisation; maintain the organisation’s positive financial position; and keep overhead/administrative costs to a minimum; • Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives, and revise objectives and plan in accordance with current conditions. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT • Develop a continuous talent pipeline for key roles and develop talent within the department by providing guidance, ongoing feedback, coaching and development opportunities to individuals to enable achievement of defined goals; • Monitor and enable the achievement of goals and key performance indicators for direct reports and ensure effective implementation of the performance management process in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Extensive senior management experience within a charitable organisation;
• Educated to degree level.
• Highly successful track record in income generation and experience of leading a team to secure substantial philanthropic gifts; • Strong team management and leadership qualities with experience of building successful teams; • Evidence of achievement in a leadership role; • Effective operational management experience in a charitable organisation; • Experience of working with a Board in a voluntary, public or private organisation and the ability to develop robust and mutually beneficial relationships with trustees; • Strategic abilities and the capacity to translate vision into implementable plans; • Ability to command confidence and demonstrate credibility with a broad range of stakeholders; • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills, and ability to build trusting relationships with a wide variety of individuals, organisations and sectors; • Ability to operate within the cultural nuances of the UAE.
