MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES STRATEGY AND PLANNING • With support from the CEO and Senior Managers, create a fundraising strategy to meet our short and long-term funding goals • Working with the CEO and the Business Development Manager, set annual income and expenditure targets and set out appropriate activities to ensure these are met • Prepare phased budgets and forecasts in line with activity plans and progress to ensure the value and timing of planned restricted and unrestricted income to the organisation is accurate • Prepare bi-monthly fundraising reports for the Board
INCOME GENERATION AND DONOR STEWARDSHIP • Identify, research, approach and cultivate new prospects. Work closely with the CEO, trustees, staff and existing supporters to map and build on their networks and mobilise introductions / asks • Develop and manage relationships with existing donors, trustees and influential stakeholders to ensure successful solicitation of major gifts, repeat gifts and increased value gifts • Working with the CEO and Programmes Director, identify suitable projects within the organisation’s plan to build cases for support and wish lists for supporters • Develop and implement donor care and stewardship programmes. This will include: individual donor care plans, written communications and reports, face to face meetings and a programme of events and visits • Develop a programme of corporate events including sponsorship, affinity and cause-related marketing • Identify and manage the coordination of acknowledgment and recognition opportunities • Provide briefings for Energy 4 Impact’s representatives involved in meetings or events with major donors. Work with colleagues, trustees and supporters to facilitate and secure personal introductions and meetings with prospectss • Identify and develop necessary systems and processes to ensure accuracy in record keeping and tracking income raised. Ensure that all systems created are compliant with GDPR best practice • Build and develop cross-organisational relationships to facilitate fundraising and strengthen the organisation’s understanding of the Head of Fundraising role

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OTHER • Represent Energy 4 Impact at fundraising events • Keep informed of the changing external environment to pick up on opportunities and keep abreast of current trends, circumstances or topical issues that will enhance the work of the organisation • Monitor Corporate Responsibility issues in the media and keep up to date with professional fundraising associations and media regarding fundraising tools and skills development • Ensure that this role adheres to Energy 4 Impact’s and the sector’s Data Protection best practice and requirements • Undertake any other responsibilities or duties requested by the Chief Executive Officer and/or Advisory Council • Travel of up to 15% may be required domestically and internationally, including to African focus countries
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Honours degree plus at least three years of proven successful experience in trusts, corporate and major gift donor fundraising, generating significant income including mid-to high six figure trust, individual and/or corporate donations • Proven ability to manage and develop a number of senior and diverse relationships • Excellent relationship building skills and a track record in creating mutually beneficial partnerships within the philanthropic sector • Excellent written and oral English language communication skills. Other language skills (e.g. French) a plus • Experience in writing and delivering presentations and speeches for a wide variety of audiences • Full understanding of fundraising guidelines including GDPR and Gift Aid compliance • Interest in and exposure to international development issues preferred

LOCATION
Central London with some overseas travel Full time, 37 hours per week,
