CANDIDATE INFORMATION PACK HEAD OF CAMPAIGN
LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT There has never been a better time to join the University of Buckingham’s dynamic team. We have a new development board, visionary leadership, the untapped wealth of an influential and international Alumni group, and the starting position of a seven-figure gift. This new role has been created on the back of a £5 million benefaction from Hong Kong philanthropist, Dr Hon Dak Chung. The aim is to raise £10-15 million over the coming 24 months to complete the building and deliver A Law School for the 21st Century. The current school is housed in a Franciscan Monastery that has considerable charm, but it is rambling and crumbling. Sandra Clarke, the Dean of Law, has described the growing challenge of ‘delivering first class teaching experience in a second rate facility’. The principal benefactor’s daughter studied law at Buckingham and he wanted to pay tribute to what he described as the very personal care, attention and support that she had received.
