Helsinki go off car
2025, mobility on demand
The news came from the excellent environmental commitment that has been supplemented by a new section on cities. Helsinki, Finland, has an ambitious plan to create a revolutionary mobility called on demand by 2025. The system would enable all and public available via smartphones. People would create their own transportation infrastructure from scratch. This is a complete rethinking of urban mobility for the age of ubiquitous connectivity.
On The Guardian you can read: hope is to furnish riders with an array of options so cheap, flexible, and well-coordinated that it becomes competitive with private car ownership not merely on cost, but on
Helsinki residents will use a new app to indicate start and end points of the trio, with perhaps a few preferences for mode of transit. app would then function as both journey planner and universal payment platform, knitting everything from driverless cars and nimble little buses to shared bikes and ferries into a single, supple mesh of The app would be like Google Maps mated with a public Uber, but across all transportation options.
5
The Guardian wonders whether this system can actually work in practice for everyone though. Riders would need a smartphone to be able to buy in. While this may work for upwardly mobile segments of Helsinki, does everyone there actually own a smartphone? What about the elderly, or people with disabilities? Getting cost right will also be important. Will people pay extra for mobility on demand if this is to be a publiclymanaged service? Could this model work elsewhere? The Guardian asks whether mobility on demand will be as effective in the spread-out and low-density suburbs of Helsinki. And is this model transferable? Cities in the developing world that have well-established public transportation systems (buses or subways) already rely on a network of private mini-buses and vans to move people around. These form a decentralized network that also responds to supply and demand. Could a Helsinki model be superimposed on such systems? And could it augment recent developments? App-based urban transportation experiments are underway, perhaps showing the way to a new form of mobility. Almost all major urban transportation systems in the U.S. and Europe have their own apps that enable easy route planning; a new thing. San Francisco is even testing an app to manage supply and demand for parking spaces. Uber and other taxi-on-demand services are now ubiquitous in the developed world, and have even caused widespread protests in Europe.

Instagram has a lot of uses. It can be used for personal reasons, like to share photos with your friends and the Instagram community, or it can be used for business purposes where companies can post photos of their products for their customers to see. This is going to improve because it seems that an agency hired from IKEA Russia, for a marketing campaign, has cleverly turned their Instagram account into a replica of
9
The idea took advantage of how Instagram lays out photos in a grid, so for every grid they show a photo that is part of the website, and when put together resembles the actual thing. Moreover it almost functions like a website so, for example, if you were to click on the photos, they will open up and will be tagged with the appropriate products.
10
Viewers can then click the tags where they will be taken to another Instagram account filled with the information, additional photos, and pricing, all of which has been designed to resemble website/catalog. This is a really new anc clever way to using Instagram.

G I R A S O L E sun rotating house
In Australia, precisely in the suburbs of Canberra where the sun shines most of the year, the architectural firm DNA Architects, has designed and implemented Sunflower, a rotating house that uses solar radiation throughout the year, saving natural resources according to the principles of environmental sustainability. Its system of rotation, positioned under the building, is constituted by a circular steel structure fixed on twenty-eight wheels, all driven by two motors with three different speeds. But it is not only home to rotate. In fact, on the sloping roof solar panels are arranged twenty-four 10.5-kilowatt generators, hot water and enough energy to power plants throughout the year, which in turn fitted with an automatic or manual rotation system, which makes the house even more flexible and adaptable to changing weather conditions. Even rain water is not wasted but collected and stored in a tank that can hold up to twenty thousand liters, to be then used to service the home and garden, making the optional connection to the water supply.
12
This is not the first house build to be rotating; the primacy belongs to Italy, with a building located in the province of Verona and built in Art Deco style back in the years between 1929 and 1935 by the engineer Angelo Invernizzi, as a holiday home for himself and his family.
From: www.dnaarchitects.com
A central pivot driven by a motor oil was slowly rotate the building on rails, making one complete rotation in just over nine hours, four millimeters per second. Today the villa belonging to the Fondazione Angelo Invernizzi and houses a center for renewable energy research.

r i g h t s "The principal strategy of all these actors, both state actors and proxy militias, is to displace people in order to undermine the support base of your opponent."
John Prendergast (born March 21, 1963) is an American human rights activist, author and former Director for African Affairs at the National Security Council. He is the co-founder of the Enough Project that is a nonprofit human rights organization affiliated with the Center for American Progress. Mr Prendergast is a board member and serves as Strategic Advisor to Not On Our Watch Project and he also is a member of the faculty and Advisory Board of the International Peace and Security Institute. With George Clooney he helped launch the Satellite Sentinel Project, which aims to prevent conflict and human rights abuses through satellite imagery. With Tracy McGrady and other NBA players, Prendergast co-founded the Darfur Dream Team: Sister Schools Initiative to fund schools in Darfurian refugee camps and create partnerships with schools in the United States. He helped launch two campaigns under Enough: the Raise Hope for Congo Campaign, highlighting the issue of conflict minerals, and Sudan Now focused on bringing peace to that embattled country.
14
There is no magic formula for eradicating genocide and mass atrocities. However, with hard work, dedication, and help from other like-minded people and organizations, Enough has developed an approach that can work. Enough can stop mass atrocities where they are already happening, and prevent these crimes from happening in the future, through a framework called the "3 P's": Peace. Protection. Punishment. Enough is also focused on what can be done to prevent the crises of tomorrow. Using three key elements - analysis, advocacy, and activism - they also focus on the policies, tools, and investments that can be implemented to prevent mass atrocities and genocide in the future.
Raise Hope for Congo, a campaign of the Enough Project, aims to build a permanent and diverse constituency of activists who will advocate for the human rights of all Congolese citizens and work towards ending the ongoing conflict in eastern Congo. Raise Hope for Congo and the Enough Project collaborate with national and local groups across the U.S., as well as local Congolese organizations, to build this grassroots movement. First we must raise awareness about the crisis. The campaign provides activists with the necessary tools to educate themselves and their communities about the conflict in eastern Congo, the role of conflict minerals funding the conflict, and the effects of sexual violence as a weapon of war used against Congolese women and girls. Raise Hope for Congo works with the Enough Project to write strategy papers drawing on field analysis and develop targeted policy recommendations for the U.S. government. The campaign also developed a company ranking system to educate and empower consumers to make more responsible purchasing decisions regarding conflict minerals. The campaign works with activists to raise the profile of the Congo conflict in the media and demand that the media shine a light on this invisible yet catastrophic crisis. We must speak out and demand action from our political leaders in the U.S. Raise Hope for Congo brings together the voices of activists to call for an end to the conflict and sexual violence in eastern Congo.

The Darfur Dream Team is a dynamic partnership of organizations and professional basketball players working together on the Sister Schools Program, an initiative linking American middle schools, high schools and universities with schools in 12 Darfuri refugee camps in eastern Chad. The mission wants to provide a quality education to every refugee child from Darfur and develop personal connections between students from Darfur and the United States that promote mutual understanding. The Darfur Dream Team was started following NBA star Tracy trip to the Darfuri refugee camps. After spending days hearing the harrowing stories of young Darfuris and of their incredible thirst for a better education, he decided to act and the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program was born.
Since gaining independence in 1956, Sudan has experienced more years of turmoil than peace. The Sudanese exploitative approach to running the country, its ongoing ethnic-cleansing campaigns against its own people, and the vastly unequal distribution of power and wealth have ignited both political and armed opposition. Internal tensions drove the country into a decades-long civil war, which led to South secession from Sudan in 2011. These same problems continue to underpin current conflicts in Darfur, eastern Sudan, South Kordofan, and Blue Nile.
An estimated 60% of the population in Darfuri refugee camps in eastern Chad are children. Many of the children have lost one or both of their parents in either the conflict or the journey to Chad. Some of the children have witnessed horrendous atrocities. Education in a secure and stable school environment will help children overcome traumatic experiences and prepare them for a brighter future. Since 2004, the United Nations has worked to provide Darfuri refugees in Chad with a quality education. However, their resources are limited.

The Satellite Sentinel Project, or SSP, finds out the facts and monitors what's really going on in Sudan. Everything started with a trip to southern Sudan in October 2010, when George Clooney and the Enough Project Co-founder John Prendergast had the idea to start the SSP. SSP launched on December 29, 2010, with the goals of deterring a return to full-scale civil war between northern and southern Sudan and deterring and documenting threats to civilians along both sides of the border. SSP focuses world attention on mass atrocities in Sudan and uses its imagery and analysis to generate rapid responses on human rights and human security concerns. The project works like this: DigitalGlobe satellites passing over Sudan and South Sudan capture imagery of possible threats to civilians, detect bombed and razed villages, or note other evidence of pending mass violence. Experts at DigitalGlobe work with the Enough Project to analyze imagery and information from sources on the ground to produce reports. The Enough Project then releases to the press and policymakers and sounds the alarm by notifying major news organizations and a mobile network of activists on Twitter and Facebook. SSP is the first sustained public effort to systematically monitor and report on potential hotspots and threats to human security in real-time. SSP synthesizes evidence from satellite imagery, data pattern analysis, and ground sourcing to produce reports.

cellphones: walk at your own risk People screaming, crying, laughing, talking on her cell phone. It is a scene that we see every day on the sidewalk. Pedestrians distracted by the conversation, something that can be dangerous. To signify this attitude a few days ago, in Washington the capital of the United States, the people had to choose between two different laneswalking along the sidewalk of 18th Street Northwest. "No cell phones" and "Cellphones: walk in this lane at your own risk". government had nothing to do with this change to the 1000 block of 18th Street Northwest. The credit goes to National Geographic, which is working an upcoming TV series on behavioral science called Mind Over Masses. National Geographic staged this stunt with the phone lanes marked off and a TV crew camped out on that block for the day to see how people would react.

VISION: We live in a difficult world, a broken world. We believe everyone can relate to pain, all of us live with questions, and all of us get stuck in moments. You need to know you're not alone in the places you feel stuck. You need to know rescue is possible, freedom is possible. The vision is that community, hope, and help would replace secrets and silence. The vision is people putting down guns, and blades, and bottles. The vision is that we can reduce the suicide rate in America and around the world. The vision is that we would learn what it means to love our friends, and we would love ourselves enough to get the help we need. The vision is better endings. The vision is the restoration of broken families and broken relationships. The vision is people finding life, finding freedom, finding love. The vision is graduation, a Super Bowl, a wedding, a child, a sunrise. The vision is people becoming incredible parents, breaking cycles, making changes. The vision is the possibility that your best days are ahead. The vision is the possibility that we're more loved than we'll ever know. The vision is hope, and hope is real. You are not alone, and this is not the end of your story. Jamie Tworkowski - TWLOHA Founder

The green is surrounding our homes, but it also can decorate interiors and balconies. The green is not less important than furniture, rather it becomes an integral part of it giving us a breath of fresh air amid the greyness of the city. It is important to contemplate or to plan a green space in any house, be it a balcony, a windowsill or an entire garden. Even in the smaller apartment you can find solutions to the very pretty green. Take inspiration.
Consideration should be given to the choice and the disposal of the plants that will furnish your space, you should also consider the climatic conditions of the place where you live, geographical exposure of your home and the context in which it borders. Each plant needs special care and it's important to get the right knowledge at the time of purchase, you can ask all the necessary information to take care of your green in every shop.

be yourselves # m a k e y o u r s e l v e s h a p p y ... to feel more beloved in your relationships
There are people who felt unfulfilled in their relationships. They often felt drained, and as if they were the only one giving and doing things for others. They understand what they are doing wrong and why relationships are so hard. All they want is to feel loved and supported. Maybe they know they have to make some changes, somebody may find a therapist, some self-help books and a few self-development professionals. The truth is that we only have to accept people as they are and we have to understand that others always want the same things we do; or, they do want the same things, but they are simply not ready at that point in time. It's really important to accept that people may love us also if they don't act the way we think right. In learning this lesson it is normal to let go of idealistic dreams and appreciate the relationships for what they are. When we accept relationships as they are, we open the door to connecting with others in a realist way, which give a lot less unhappiness. Moreover we are not meant to seek love externally, the love that we seek is something that we already have. One more important thing is to be so brave to be yourself. A lot of people hold back their inner truth in relationships because they fear rejection. Deep down they feel that they are not good enough or worthy. They think that by blending in with people they will guarantee acceptance. As they gradually learn how to simply express their authentic truth in relationships, they will love themselves, they will feel that others are really loving them with no compromises and all this process will not only make better relationships, it will also give everyone more energy. In the end we should also admit that we get what we give. Even though people often feel that they are giving a lot in their relationships, what they are giving necessarily healthy or maybe what the other person in the relationship needs. We don't need the same things in the same way. Moreover people often give to others in order to be accepted and avoid rejection, as said before, but if we want others to be more real with us then we have to be more real with them. If you want others to openly discuss feelings, then you have to openly discuss feelings. This guarantee reciprocate, but it
we are willing to set the example, others will be more likely to follow and reciprocate. It is the only sane and possible way. The more we realize the power of our own actions and align them to our

who will never apologise To all those who happend to be wrong in a relationship, and to everyone that has come to terms with the end of a story... Let's talk about the principle of selfpreservation, yours or of your Ex. In the first moments following the closure of a relationship there are emotions, feelings and wounded pride that take a lot of place so it's not always easy to be aware of our mistakes, but after? There are people who can not admit their guilt even after a lot of time and there are even people who can deny the evidence of a treason. Some time ago, in collaboration with a team of psychologists and sociologists, I made an experiment to understand what goes on after the end of a story. In that experiment collaborated more than 200 people, I tried myself and even my ex-boyfriends. The project was long but gave positive results, in fact it showed that more than the 75% of people are able to admit their mistakes and apologize after some time. I was so happy about that (and proud of some of my ex), but what about the remaining 25%? The experiment went on and the psychologists and sociologists that were working with me gave a lot of ideas. Some people are really wrong in relationships, in my experience I had a boyfriend who betrayed me, he perjured at least twice even on the memory of the dead father and he still is one of those in the worst 25% of the experiment. Why is that? The experiment, my experience, the psychologists and the sociologists said it's for the principle of self-preservation. Usually it help us to preserve life, serenity and happiness and that's exactly how it works even in the case of a traitor. There are frail, weak people who do not have the courage to admit to themselves as they were cruel and so to admit that to others. They prefer to create an excuse. They begin to think that the other person is boring, it's fixed, it's heavy, it's crazy, that the other person has lived everything as an exaggeration or even that their attitude was because of what they have suffered. They do not have the strength to take their responsibility. They do not have the strength to apologize. I Know that it's quite hard to understand. In my story I had to make the HIV test twice and he left me all alone. It was really hard and I only thought that he was cruel. It took a couple of months to understand that he is more coward than evil. At the end of the experiment we were so impressed by the poltroonery and the weakness of those people who lie themselves, because deceive others is understandable, but fooling yourself and take refuge in the spirit of self-preservation is the least evolution's thing that a man can take. Indeed we felt so happy to see how special are those people who want to grow with humility and apologize live to improve themselves and the world around them. Apologizing is a true path to happiness. Who is able to understand others, understand himself, who is able to accept the human's limitations and apologize for the mistakes is a serene and happy person. Of course the best advice is to not get to a betrayal. People should be brave enough to take the responsability to be happy no disrespect to the other. So if you don't feel quite appreciated by your partner or you are not sexually satisfied try to recognise your responsibility. Be sincere, be hones to other people's feelings and if your relationship is not really satisfactory depart with respect. But if you have already made a betrayal of trust or physical, apologize because, as someone very wise said, you will find yourself stronger after admitting your mistakes. Indeed, if you've got next a person who has hurt you and has not been able to apologize, I advise you to have compassion and to try to encourage to improve. The love towards your partner may end as lovers, but help him to improve is a form of love for every human being.
